  • great review! Wish it were in 1080p

  • Redikilis.

  • HOw do u think this would compare to the upcoming NEX-7?

  • How would you compare this to Canon T2i?

  • @smorzzando they're different cameras!

  • @smorzzando you dont, lol

  • how well is it at producing a shallow depth of field

  • @Devdog1618 It's just alright. F/2 helps, but a 35mm lens does not. Better than a point & shoot, not as good as a portrait length fast prime.

  • Good video thumbs up. Would be interesting to see an update with the new firmware. I kept thinking you were going to drop it though.

  • Not to be rude, but just some advice:

you needa work on not saying ummm... so much.

i have this problem myself too.

  • good review.battery longevity is annoying as is having to buy the lens hood filter ring as an add on.however i really like mine and the image quality is superb.great travel camera.

  • Great Video... PLan on picking up this camera to pair it with my Canon 7D/Canon 5D MKII

  • Darn I had a heck of a time getting the front lens ring off. I initially thought it was stuck but got it eventually.

  • Hey great video, It has really made me want to get one. I'm going overseas and not overly inclined to take my d700 with my prime lenses with me. Do you think this is a great alternative to take on holidays instead? I Want to take beautiful photos without lugging my SLR around.

  • Wow thanks dude this review really helped my decision lol I really wanted to get this camera but I also have a 7D with a bunch of lenses, after hearing the cons I realized that I dont really need this and should wait for newer versions to come out in the future haha, or maybe to save up for a leica m9. Anyways thank you for the review this really helped!

  • hey how about giving me that camera? I can give you my address if you want to give it to me and if you have any m9 lying around I would like that to preferably with accompanying a noctilux

  • can you put the lens cap on with the lens hood adaptor ring and filter (without the hood)?

  • spastic dude..... how does a cheapie like you afford one?

  • spastic dude.....

  • oh god....'would use the film nikon'........ do a health check, man.

  • just use the autofocus ahaha... and the buffer... whaaat....

  • great review~ looking forward to see more review about digital camera like panasonie GF 2.

  • great review~ looking forward to see more review about digital camera like panasonie GF 2.

  • Fantastic... or ... ridiculous...??? Hmmmmm....!

  • enough with the ummmms

  • What is your computer to edit your photos?

  • In the video it looked like the lens hood blocks a part of the image seen through the viewfinder. Is it detrimental to the framing of the image or do you get used to the it?

  • It's cool. However, I think it's cheezy how they make it look similar to a 35mm rangefinder/M9 with HD video. Kinda wack.

  • Absolutely Fantastic!

  • Nice review! Few Questions though. How much did you get it for? When will it be released in the United States? Price?

  • if you do giveaways i would love this camera. thanks

  • The photos look very good

You said nothing about videos - he videos I have seen do not look good

The auto focus system is too slow

It appears while panning or a train coming into the station the auto focus cannot keep up so there is no real clarity. I did not see any rolling shutter which is a plus but at time it was jerky - that could be Youtube

Any comments am I right about the focusing?

  • tone down the hand motions, quite distrackting

  • @globalimage Thanks for letting me know! :D

  • @marloon88 its not really :S

  • @globalimage i honestly wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't pointed it out. no that you have it is pretty distracting

  • @globalimage btw i heard somewhere that ppl who do a lot of hand motions while talking simply cant tell what they want to so they add hands as visual discription

  • @globalimage The guy's alive and kicking, don't knock it !

  • Awesome video! I'm a DJ from Amsterdam (Netherlands) and i'm considering to buy this camera to shoot some HD-movies in the clubs. How does it perform on low light?? And how do you rate the video quality overall ?? Thanks!

  • Great presentation, I couldn't believe I watch a guy sitting there talking for 10min :) A question, the hood fit perfectly well with the adapter with any 49mm filter in between? For manual focusing, it is recommended to press the AEL button for fast focusing and then fine turn using focusing ring, turning the focus from one end to another is frustrating.

  • @ngso0009 The hood fit perfectly well with the adapter with any 49mm filter. I used a normal one as oppose to a slim filter and it worked without any vignetting.

You are definitely right about pressing the AEL button, however, fine tuning using the focusing ring is DEFINITELY not as fast as compared to an DSLR. I personally tried the AEL button technique and i never became fond of it - and that's coming from a AF back button pusher. ;)

  • @marloon88 ya right, instead of turning the ring that's meant for hobbit's fingers, moving the camera with magnified view on for fine tuning is more practical.

  • @marloon88 sorry :) didnt mean to burn a hole in your wallet, haha :) I watch your videos too! your strobing economically" videos really helped me a lot half a year ago till now. thanks again for the reply :)

    keep your vids coming :)

  • Awesome video and review Marlon! =)

  • shooting the video with a ultra wide makes everything look wonky

  • The IQ you get with the X100 is it comparable to say a canon L prime?

  • @AnhRichie That's a FANTASTIC (I love that word!) question! The Canon L prime (35mm f1.4L) provides thinner Depth of field because of the 1.4 aperture and the full frame sensor. It also provides more contrast/color and better bokeh. I mean, we are comparing it to an L prime - do you get what I mean? HAHA! The fujifilm 23mm f2.0 is still no slouch but it's really no L prime lens.

  • totally agree with your opinion, i am on your side

  • black one coming soon next year, price might drop too.

  • yeah good to see you again Marloon! BTW do you mind me asking what program do you use for editing your videos? Specifically this one?

    Thanks man

  • @johnnybrazil01 Thanks Johnny! I use Premier to edit my photos! :D

  • @marloon88 Thanks for answering Marloon. Your photos look stunning on this video. Now what editing software program do you use for editing your videos?

  • Finally a new video Marloon

  • @djromanj i know! FINALLY RIGHT! HAHAAH
