  • interesting. supersymmetry is fascinating.

  • I can't watch this if he keeps wandering away from the mic like that. Shame. Why wasn't he wired up with a radio mic??

  • My awareness of my ignorance just expanded like the early universe. However I'm gaining ground one small quark at at time. Thanks for posting.

  • needs to learn how to use a microphone eh? interesting though.

  • • SandustanBrasov

The notion of dark matter and dark energy proceed from theoretical physics, from relativity theory of the A. Einstein, from the mistaken interpretation of the physical reality. Something exist indeed: and matter and energy; but is the much ethereal matter and the her energys from the her frame. Dark energy and cosmic acceleration are a failure of relativity of the Einstein.

  • Where can i find updated information on the lhd???

  • What HAS the LHC showed us? Wasn't Fermilab on the verge of finding the Higgs?

  • If you want to see the picture he's talking about at 43 minutes, google "dark matter collision" and look at the image results. It's a remarkable photograph.

  • This is solid science: you have evidence of some thing, As, and not others, Bs. you say, according to our best theory, if As exist (& they do) then Bs also exiss, even though it'd take more powerful machines to try to detect them. But "dark matter"? You have absolutely no idea what "dark matter" is, but you go on to suppose there MUST also be another even more "mysterious" thing, "dark energy." You, then, break the 2 totally unknown mysteries into exact percentages? That's science fiction.

  • It would be great if we could hear this man speak, why couldn't they afford to give him a decent microphone?

  • Get him one of those Britney Spears headset mics next time.

  • your the best steven, and you have a great mind and I love listening to anything you talk about,... thank you,,and thank whoever posted this video ...this LHC~ is going to tell us so very much in the future this is mans greatest machine ....

  • It would be even greater if we could hear him!

  • for a genius quantum physicist it seems he doesn't know how to a mic...

  • I love how he's so into it he keeps forgetting about the mic.... too funny.....

  • Thank you to the person that kept handing him the microphone.

  • old crazy badass genius

  • GREAT!!!

  • Amazing...3 people actually dislike this.....hehehe..

  • it's a mic not a laser pointer

  • It's very funny see him to point the screen with the microfone. Anyway I wish to be like him.

  • hmnn ,.......wish I could keep with it but the i problem gets a bit too much at times , nice post though.

  • Nice to see that such a great mind has a charming imperfection.

  • Hee hee hee way to go Steven! Thanks

  • only the best STEVE

  • 'Absent mindedness is inversly poportional to intelligence'

  • Should have equipped him with a lav mic.

  • Stephen you bad boy. Hold the microphone high so I can hear you talk about things I don't understand. Although I want to think that I do. Thanks for the video.

  • Cool, thanks for posting.

  • wow this guy is super smart does'nt even know ya have to talk into a mic

  • exciting

  • Very interesting, but the guy cannot handle a microphone :P

  • it's so cool to hear this man and other great physicist that i always want to leave chemistry and start studying physics, mathematics are also great, thinking is the best thing in the world.

  • Like Tesla or Einstein forgetting to eat or sleep, he forgets the microphone. I envy their ability to concentrate on their subject so intensely that they temporarily forget the basics...

  • There is one huge elephant present in the class room of science. That is the Apollo program and the fake moon landings. It's all very well preaching the achievements on cosmology and particle physics (which there are many) however until the scientific community deal with what has been a series of massive fraudulent exploits committed by NASA (and the CIA), humanity cannot move forward into a more creditable phase of scientific exploration.

  • @rh7189 ROFL!

  • good

  • This presentation was one of the best lectures on quantum physics I have ever heard. It takes a thorough understanding of the subject to explain it well and Dr. Weinberg is one of the very best. It is a shame the sponsoring agency could not afford a working lapel mic, as the sound quality was so poor as to be almost unintelligible in spots.

  • @lightseek3r

This is particle physics or Quantum Field Theory. It is not non-relativistic Quantum physics, which your words imply.

  • Good, interesting talk. Weinberg is a great speaker.

  • stunner, you would think a Nobel prize winner of physics would understand how a microphone worked!! Great man though

  • @HadronMatt Well, he isnt as young he used to be..

  • I love Weinberg's voice and style, but he cannot figure out the mic in this video.

  • the sound is really bad. what a shame

  • This man clearly hates the microphone!

  • The woman tell him to take the mic with him then he uses it to point at the screen....priceless

  • Thank you for posting. This is an absolutely great lecture from the master.

    Thanks

    David
