  • I bought a package of tofu recently. On the package it says that it is organic and non genetically modified. Is this an acceptable product to eat regularly?

  • @stang4lyfe07 My understanding is that tofu is precipitated and not fermented so it does not remove as many antinutrients as fermentation. The phytoestrogens still remain so I try to avoid tofu.

  • My doctor told me to stop taking any soy products 2yrs ago. He said men should not take soy as it effects hormone levels causing the male system to go out of balance.

  • Soy now days= GMO

  • @orangeblood307 I agree! Thanks for commenting.

  • very interesting video. what about Soy Sauce?

  • There isn't a single food in this world which can be eaten!!!

  • This sucks:( chocolate soy milk is sooo good

  • I also fell for the soy lie for many years, so I thank you for telling us the truth!

  • Excellent video!

  • Soy is so exploited. It's grown mostly for factory farmed animals and junk food.

I enjoy tofu on occasion, and love miso and tamari.

It has to be domestic (NOT grown in China!), non-GMO, and organic.

Thank you for all the info. I only eat tofu on very rare occasions, but isn't soy good for going into menopause?

I had no idea it could be used as a male birth control though!

  • @MarmaladeMonster Look up "Kaayla T. Daniels" and "Lierre Keith". BIG truth bombs on soy. Soy does help with menopause, but soy is damaging to the thyroid (among a laundry list of other things), and menopausal women are more at risk for thyroid problems.

  • Thank you so much for your qualified lectures!

Could you please talk about a possible way to ferment Amaranth to get rid of the tanning agents in it?

  • Great video Dr G could u talk about radiation of almonds even in organic almonds that claim they are raw.Almond milk is not healthy either

  • @MultiNaturals Almonds is a whole other lie. Truly raw almonds are very healthy when sprouted. ALL the "raw" almonds in the stores are NOT truly raw. They are still pasteurized. Only almonds for export can be truly raw, and farmers can sell only up to 100lbs of truly raw almonds/day. Read more info at Cornucopia website.

Another good read is on coconut water. Read more at Body Ecology website.

  • Dr. G - When I was in high school 'waaaay back in the 70s, my mother grew in the garden one year some soy beans, not the kind my father-in-law grew on the farm, but bigger, and we ate them as immature seeds. I recall those shells were so stiff and difficult to open, they made little scratches on our fingers. They were crunchy, even after Mother boiled them in salted water. Surely that type of soybean was healthy, am I right on that?

  • @ShushLorraine Toxicity is related to the dose. We can eat a small amount of a toxin and if the dose is low enough, our body can handle it. So even though the soybeans from your own garden seem so healthy, they have the same problems with containing toxic anti nutrients as the commercial soy and require prolonged fermentation to get rid of them. The phytoestrogens in soy are not removed by fermentation, so again a low dose is important, even if fermented.

  • @NaturalFoodsDiet so the same goes for edaname?

  • @NaturalFoodsDiet Thanks for the information! I'm learning a lot here.

  • BRAVO for this. You are wright about toxic soy.

  • My fav proteins are hemp and pumpkin seed protein powder. I guess once Im done my spiru-tein (which i got really cheap) I will go back to brown rice, yellow pea and hemp proteins and coconut milk

  • @tbayguy Good job.

  • awesome!!!!

  • I'm pretty sure there are many people out there that don't believe soy is healthy per say. People just don't know how modified it is. For calcium I eat vegetables like broccoli and I do consume So Nice Soy drink, which are from whole organic soy beans with no GMO, and with fortified B12 and more. How healthy is it? I'm not so sure, but I'd rather take my chances with this drink than cow milk. If they both disappeared from existence, I'd simply consume something else -- no biggie for me.

  • @LloydChristmas777, Although I also consume processed soy products, I definitely keep it to a minimum, eating mostly whole foods. I'm working to consume as little processed food as possible. As for estrogen levels: there are conflicting studies and my testosterone seems in abundance. So I'm not too worried, but we should always be mindful of our habits.

Thanks very much the information Dr. G. I love your videos.

  • @LloydChristmas777 Lloyd I drink SoNice Soymilk now because for the time being I get it frozen for 6 for $4 at a co-op green store. Normally its $3 per unit at the grocery store for the 950ml and Im getting 6 of them frozen for $4. For that kind of savings I will drink it right now :)

  • @tbayguy, I get 1.89L for about $4.50 for one depending on the store! So you've got an awesome deal. I usually see the other brands right beside it outsell So Nice because they costs less and apparently are usually on sale. What people don't pay attention to is that they're not organic and contain GMO. But I guess a big yellow sticker with a price a lot cheaper than So Nice, the average consumer will bite almost every time. Continued...

  • @tbayguy, One girl asked me why I was choosing SO Nice so I told her. She paused for a moment as I walked away. I eventually saw her later and noticed she went ahead and got the cheaper brands, but hey I'm glad she at least she thought about it.

  • @LloydChristmas777 Ya I did not know till I did more reading online that the popular Silk brand is a 1 star large corp company according to the study the Dr commented on. My price in the grocery store is similar to yours which is why I normally buy Coconut Milk when its on sale instead of soy milk, however because of the good sale they have on frozen sonice at the co-op hippy store I will keep buying it there.

  • Thanks for the video NaturalFoodsDiet, I'm glad you're steering males away from soy products. The FDA doesn't care to warn us.

  • I personally hate the idea of soy because I'm a male. It's a phytoestrogen and I'm a bodybuilder so it's my enemy. It's also the enemy of males who don't work out but if you're a bodybuilder, I would stay away from it. I used to use soy milk but I switched years ago to "coconut milk". That stuff works wonders (it has some fat in it so beware if you're in a fat-cutting stage of bodybuilding). I only use protein shakes made with coconut milk, I don't touch animal milk or soy milk.

  • @Viktir666, Good information. I should try coconut milk too eventually.

  • @LloydChristmas777 Just to be fair, coconut milk has some fat in it. It's not 100% perfect. If you do any walking or cardio, you should be fine. I don't mean to take over NaturalFoodsDiet's video or anything, but I've used all of these products were speaking of and formulated a strong opinion of them :) My favorite is coconut milk, then comes almond milk. I don't personally drink the milk from animals, I believe our pasteurization and homogenation processes harm it in ways.

  • @Viktir666, It's probably good to have some of that fat before workout. My plan is to eventually consume a lot more almond milk than my organic soy drink (which I use for cereal and the fortification of vitamins like B12 and D). I also don't drink cow milk nor will I consume any dairy.

I'm also interested in obtaining soy the way Dr. G is doing it. If that's too much of a hassle, I won't miss soy at all. Good luck with your workouts. I'm aching right now from mine. :)

  • @Viktir666 Coconut oil is healthiest fat on this planet for mankind. So is the ghee. :)

  • @Safet Cool info, now I feel justified for devouring it :)

  • @Viktir666 since when does fat turn to fat in the body? theyre just calories!

  • @rui27marne I think I should have worded it differently so certain people can understand. What I meant was don't think you can drink it and it has no fat or anything. It's not a miracle drink. It's far better than soy and cow's milk though. You agree?

  • I was raised as a vegetarian, and the belief was that soy products and soybeans themselves were the "super food" we needed to eat to get the complete protein we'd be lacking when eliminating meat products from our diet.

  • as true as it gets. thanks Doc!

  • Hi guy I am really enjoying your videos and am telling everyone I know check you out.. Got anything on high blood pressure cures.?

  • Thanks for the video. Sadly, it seems like pretty much everything we eat and do in the modern world is killing us. It seems like as arrogant as modern man has become about their achievements, all we have done is destroy the natural balance of pretty much everything in the world. I think it's time to go back to basics.

  • @CrowsFlyBackward The first step for you Americans is to rise up and overthrow your massively corrupt US Govt who kiss the ass of nasty nasty corp like Monsanto.

  • @tbayguy, Yep, Monsanto is one nasty giant that kills living things.

  • they are killing us bite by bite.

  • thank you so much i though soy was healthy

  • great I have about 120 single serving packs of spiru-tein protein powder, its not all soy, 8g per serving, the rest is brown rice and yellow pea protein. I sure cant afford to throw it out

  • super as usual, thanks

  • I enjoy your video's thanks
