  • I want to know the background music~~anyone knows???

  • and it's b'coz the dance came to Molluca in colonialism era

    hm...

  • it's like saureka-reka dance from Molluca, Indonesia

Looks like we have some similar cultures.

  • The performance was great and perfect for me, Ive enjoyed watching it and she enjoyed it too.Theres no too much pressure and stress, just like in te province.I really love it.

  • hey... whr can i get music for this type of dance??

  • Our Philippine folk dance and cultures I always missed. For being far away from our native land and listening and watching this kind of beautiful video's make you feel like home. Thanks for posting and sharing.

  • good job......

  • Thank you Yonie, five stars!

  • Our class is doing this in music and it is so fun! I broke my ankle though : (

  • I thought that you did a excellent job....too bad that all of the people that posted negative comments couldn't show what they have to offer? Continue to dance...!

  • Well thank you Dhodin! You're such a possitive person... people that leaves negative comments are insecure... it just reflects their personality... Be possitive! I may not be a great dancer but the possitive side of it? I made people laugh at that moment... Be cool folks!!! It was just a show!

  • I think you did a good job *thumbs up*

Your Tinikling style reminded me of the Panayanon steps. This has many versions already, but I love the classic version like the one u did here. :)

  • it was great......... but you know,... our school dancers can performed better than this! hahaha... XD

  • I don't blame you Jija! He he he! I'm am not a folk dancer myself. This dance was impromptu... meaning, the emcee called me on the spot. I am just an adventurous person. I just did this for fun!!!! Don't be too serious guys!!! Life is too short!!!!

  • ok fine if they (your school dancers) can perform this dance better. Anyway, the original farmers who performed this dance in the province are not quite perfectionist but they created this dance to have FUN during harvest season. I think she performed very graceful knowing this is an impromptu performance.

  • u know wer to buy bamboo poles near San Bernardino, CA or websites that sell for a less price?

  • I'm not quite sure where to buy the bamboos but I think that Asia Reflection Store has it... you can try to google it... I forgot their web address....

  • Mizoram is going to Attempt a New Guinness Record of their Bamboo Dance (Cheraw) on March 12th, 2010.

  • this is SHIT!!! you should see the real bamboo dance,..cmon filipinos be original for just one time!!

  • that is not even their original (cultural)dance...

  • ok, but, the music sounds like "Swiss Mountain Jodel"

  • Magaling...

  • Bravo. Galing galing. Kung ako yan, naipit na sigurado mga paa ko, hahaha.

  • this is a video that would bring a smile to everyone's face. Simple and yet so delightful!

  • my music teacher told my class about this and were gonna have to do this at school

  • You guys will have fun!!! Don't get hurt!!!

  • they used to have this dance in trinidad and tobago. I really want to know the history behind it.

  • omg...my Inay(grandmother) would always play this with me when I was little..I thought it was a game, lol..it brings back memories. Her 90th birthday is coming soon...i think I'll teach her great grandkids..this has just been added as a favorite.

  • WOOOOOO!!!!!1

  • I couldn't ever have danced that well! Wow, it was rhythmic and you never got tripped up in the bamboo.

  • Ha ha ha! I laugh so hard when I watch this video f mine... you know why? I was soooo nervous that it looks like I was a drunken dancer! Ha Ha Ha! Can't you tell, my foot almost got caught?!!!

  • First of... I am not a Dude.... This was impromptu... the girl who was gonna dance this didn't show up and I was just a proxy... Yes! You might be a good dancer but being conceited doesn't make a person beautiful... you're 12 and young... I am 40 and old but still having fun!!! Be confident and try to appreciate other's talents. Criticizing other's doesn't make you the best.... I am just having fun!!! That's what's life is all about girl!!!

  • What is the name of that song?

  • Comment removed

  • I want to know the name of the song in the video. I'm not sure what Chinese versions have to do with my question. No reason to be rude about it.

  • wow! i needed some research for an essay of mine for a cultural dance and your video was perfect!

maraming salamat po! (i'm not full filipino so if i said this wrong, sorry!)

  • If she gets her ankles caught between the bamboo she will say, "ANAKPUTAKANAIOOOOOHHHH!"

  • that is so much fun

  • nice job!!!!!

  • ang galing ng paa mo wow!!!!!!!!

  • its my dance!im gonna do it this comming saturday

  • its not a philippine bamboo dance. its a NATIONAL DANCE or its a bird dance.

  • carinyosa is the national dance of the Philippines, Tinikling is just the most popular

  • Tinikling (means tikling-like) is a Filipino folk dance, at one time the official Philippine National Dance. It is probably the most popular Philippine folk dance abroad.

you maybe right that the carinosa is the ntnl dance but it was officially claimed in 1992.

"The Cariñosa replaced the popular Tinikling as the "National Dance of the Philippines" in 1992". are you from a cultural group?

  • well, you can say so.

i'm from APISU, or Asian and Pacific Islander Student Union, and I researched some of the Filipino dances.

  • thats good to know! tangkilin ang kulturang pinoy... so you are a rondalla member too?
