  • More great music was turned out during the 80's than any other time. This was a prime example...

  • Hit it right on the head dude!

  • The music of Generation-X..The FIRST MTV Generation!

  • Generation x was in the 90's.

  • Thats the Look,The look of Love

  • awesome song from my high school days that i often crave to hear!!! LOVE this song!

  • hip hip hooray..yipee I yipee I ah!! Still lovin it baby...

  • this is my shit<3

  • its from that commerical payless i like this song

  • i like this. this was on the payless commercial

  • Great song! A true classic.

  • mann, i wish i was an 80's kid; they had the best music & the best clothes ! <3

  • mee too !

  • I saw this on a commercial!

  • This is CLASSIC 80s!!!!

  • This Video does not accompany the song

at all. They were attempting a campy or

vaudevillian approach that doesn't fit the

song at all. Maybe they were attempting to mirror the success of the Culture Club

video for Kharma Khamellion using the nostalgia of the past as a theme for the

video. Well it doesn't work. Great Song

  • No it does not. It was the 80's and no one cared!

Many times the video had nothing to do with the song. Many many many times.

  • WOW. You people who diss this video and think it looks "cheesy" or "inappropriate" are spoiled by today's video technology. You must not have been a kid in the '80s!

  • im 17...i think the song is gd...but common man...uve gotta admit the vid is fucking shit lol.

  • don't know why i like this song lol

  • alot of 80s videos are cheesy but thats because videos were new and everyone just went out and made them about anything and everything.

  • 80's plus zoo/carival environment....very relevant, you must have not been raised in the 80's

  • the video is BAD, ugly, inappropriate for the song, i've heard this song for decades and now that i saw the vid, i wish i never saw it.

  • The video doesn't match the very cool song. But I played this cassette to DEATH! Practically erased it!

  • so 80s!!

  • Wish I Was A Teen In The 80's :(

  • I was a teen inthe 80's and it was a great time!

  • i was talking to scor6800 that sounded racist what you said

  • why all yall british people or whatever you are am black am an american i love this song and i heard it on payless commercial trust me i watch tv and i know all my white music more than black.

  • British 80's Pop forever.

Americans didn't know how to make a pop song

  • tuune!

  • I apologise to all the Europeans & Americans reading but imo the BEST music of the 80's was made in the UK, this song was only one of many classics to come out of the country back then.

  • @richwicz english music is truely great

  • richwicz

I agree with you 100%. The best 80s music was from british artists like Duran Duran, Human League, U2 (although their Irish), Sting, Def Leppard, plus all the one hit wonders who recorded classics.

  • WoW this music is making a come back I see them using it in all the commercials on TV and on the Radio, It brought back memories and I thought this stuff was pretty good. A bit melodramatic but with all the crap in the world of music this is still very good!

  • so true....most artists are trying to dress like the 80s again...eg...Rihanna...those outfits are a "modern" 80s style...

  • I loooove this song.....being 10, The look of love...oh yeah

  • Hey I was 10 as well when this came out - brings back great memories as a kid!

  • the guy in the red and black suits i think hes cute the one who says all im saying i wish i was in the 190s' the look the love

  • Comment removed

  • Bottom line, there is no harmony, no magic in the music today worth remembering.

  • Very true

also forgot-- the 70s was pretty decent-- except for the disco craze(barf).

  • the best music came from 2003 and back, with the 80s and 90s producing some of the best.

today's music totally sucks major donkey ASS.

  • A good example of this was when I went to The Who concert about three years ago. The funny thing was this -- I'm 39, and sure there were people in their 50's and older, but mostly everyone in attendance was younger than me. Those kids aren't getting that off of top 40.

  • i sooooooo agree!!

  • if only i could be a teen in the 80's

  • best music came from the 80's. that's about it though

  • The Look of Love-yea the best-

  • Man, it's like every shot had to have a gimmick. The song was great by itself. Must have been the times.

  • Yes back in the 80s we could slide the radio dial and get our favouorite song. That was the 80s.

  • I would need a time machine, and come back to those years, when turning on your radio you could enjoy songs like this.

  • A GREAT masterpiece that isn't remembered. I have no idea why. I guess it takes someone like me who has their own individual memories and this song with the soundtrack. ABC, along with "When Smokey Sings" was a major soundtrack of my teen life.

  • It's remembered. Heck, I didn't even like ABC at first but now I love them. I remember them well from the first years of MTV.

  • I felt that way about many of the 80 groups -- I didn't like them. Now I wish I could go back and enjoy my life while they were the soundtrack!

  • Greate videoclip.

  • the greatest song ever

  • It may not be the greatest song ever, but I can see where people would say that this is their favorite song. One helluva memory!

  • it's the look! it's the look!

  • Homage to Benny Hill, I love it!

  • LOL!NO DOUBT!

  • Gravity is the main componant.

  • Brit and Aussie bands had some of the greatest talent and voices in the world, especially in the 70's and 80's. Thanks to youtube, I can still listen to these great tunes.

  • Great song but if there's some sort of inverse ratio measurement for best song to worst video, ABC wins!

  • This video is typical of one of the first pioneering videos.

  • Cool tune! Thats the look. Have you got the look ?

  • was that 1980? wow then ABC were pioneers in bodypanting @0.46 :o)

  • A great part of new wave, UK artist is so true,

Bananarama, Duran, Adam Ant, so many and ABC was a great part of it. They were So smart to use MTV to their advantage

  • bout 13/14 when this came out just pure class!!!

  • synth-pop, disco, '80s....great time.

  • It is perfect!

  • The 80's what an era of music we had...such bands like ABC, Human League, Bananarama, & Duran all UK artists...& still Duran are going strong..What crap the music industry is producing & releasing these days, absolute disgrace....

  • what the heck was in that guys spaghetti?

  • 80s was an age of UK.

  • London seemed so much cooler in the 80's for some reason..never been there but when I watch videos for songs like west end girls..it just looked so cool!

  • Quite mate. I'm not british but the 80's without those smashing british singers and bands would have been less exciting.

  • and germany

  • what a great song..!!!!

    it takes me to 80's

  • I'm starting to become obsessed with this song. ^^

  • Nice to see these guys had a sense of humor as well as an artistic streak.

  • If I had to pick just one song that embodied everything 80's...This is it.

Power, emotion, melodoy (combined with strings and brass (rare these days) Why he even wrote some of his own music.."All of my heart" check it out some time. That would be... dare I say it...skill ability TALENT. Put that up aginst the likes of Britney spears / Pink / christina Aguelira etc and now you know why I visted. I feel refreshed again. God bless you ABC.

  • This song has a lot of Funk and Bounce to it.. This is my Jam.. You should listen to "S.O.S" by ABC great song.

  • Don't have a prob with Aguilera so much but otherwise I know exactly what you mean. I was born in the 80s bt managed to absorb a much of the musical innovation I could at the time. I would love to break the time/space continuum to go back and absorb it all (except for the dire political situation!). Always been a 80s baby but the more uninspired music becomes the more I look back to then and to some extent the 90s for musical relief. The likes of Calvin Harris still got the 80s attitude tho'.

  • Man I feel exactly the same. I was born 83 but I mean, I was just a kid in the 80's. Sometimes I wish I was like 15 when the 80's started. Especially when I hear songs like get rich or die tryin'.

  • I hear you loud and clear Alex, loud and clear. It's up to us 80s babies to keep the spirit of the decade alive in music@ least ;-)

  • That's funny. I was exactly 15 in 1980 and I blood loved the 80's music and spirit everywhere in Europe. I don't know how it is now a days but the music and youth look very depressing and unhappy to me. I was in England and London in the summer of 1987 and man that was amazing. Amazing spirit of freedom, of having fun, of being young. To me everything looks worse, more negative and aggressive but maybe it's just my impression of being old at my 44. Looks like yesterday though, I still feel same

  • @mkkm7 44 ain't old man! 94 is...perhaps old.

  • i have the same felling .

  • i was an infant in 1980 =)) but i love this music of my childhood. But at those times here in Russia we haven't got much possibility to hear and watch western music videos... and thanks God that presently we free to do what we want (of cause in a borders of a law ) =)))

  • Hi Andreymok. I was in Russia in 1984 when I was 19 and visited Moscow, Leningrad, Kiev and Tallin, and indeed it was another world. A very sad and isolated world with no freedom, secret police, KGB everywhere, corruption, fear, black market, and the discos were like the ones from the 60's in the West of Europe, very old fashioned. I know what you mean. I'm glad communism is not there anymore and you may enjoy some freedom (nobody is completely free but communisim and fascism are terrible).

  • I feel the same, I think the same. :)

  • @mkkm7

You're not older than you feel. Keep up that 80's spirit friend.

  • Very good indeed...love it.

  • omg...ABC? this is ABC too?

:D starting to like this band

  • Lead singer is a very nice man in real life!

  • Great song

  • NO, of course not .........just wondering how people know that he is still out there. David Palmer, also played with "The The" and "Electronic"

  • does anyone remember the drummers name on this song.......and where he is now

  • Mr Pink are you secretly the drummer of ABC? Come on now..

  • Comment removed

  • i had to check this = PAUL MORLEY really is in this video [ gold lame jacket+lookin bit tipsy : )) ] !! luv it !! and reminds that trevor horn also had a bit part.

  • the Big 80's!

  • Yippie ky Yiippie Ky YEAAAAAA!!!!!!!1!!

  • You should read my description on the

right top of TU-144 CRASH AND BURN, it explains what the video is.

  • LPP3 ;)

  • 80s the best era.

  • Wasn't music better in this time? There wasn't any "Beatches", and "Mofos" sort of language.

    Love.

    That's what matters.

    Peace. =) Love.

    Your Pal, Fluffy.

  • Acid's a hell of a drug lol

    long live ABC

  • aciiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiedddd 303

  • The guy eating the spagetti is also the director but I forget his name

  • what's the name of girl who appears 2:58

  • Her name is Lisa Drayer

  • 2:53 kick that puppet's ass!!

  • :-O how vulgar!

  • mark white looks cheesed here.

  • i watched hamlet 2 the other day, reminded me how much i like this song. i cant play it around friends tho, they will make fun of me ;)

  • I just saw abc in concert this summer and I stll can't get over it! I love you marty!

  • this song's video is exactly opposite of what we imagine wen we hear it as audio first,

m completely shock, very nice song very very good

  • A great masterpiece of 80s

  • Classic 80's

  • I absolutely adore this song! One of my favorites from the 80's but this video just killed it. Beyond cheesy, even for the 80's.

  • Im going to start dressing like that

  • ABC rocks!! Its to bad they don't do a full blown reunion concert, or even a reunion tour if they were up to it. They, or rather most of them only reunited for a 1-night concert on a show that played on VH1. From my immediate memory, only the lead singer and the drummer showed up for it. One of the guitarists might have been there, but it's been so long since I've seen it.

  • 80s music will always be better than this new crap.

  • No decade can, or will ever compare to the great 80's. Especially as far as music is concerned!

  • i could not have said it better

thanks for being someone who sees that

  • the 80s will always kick ass:0)

  • Very Cool song...very lame video, Love to listen to it thanks for posting

  • wow, talk about blast from the past. Good happy tune. Love it!

  • Gr8 song. Luv it

  • j'adore trop de souvenirs ;))

  • my happy song, yay!!!

  • Wonderful song!

  • "Embedding disabled by request"

Always a way to spoil the fun.

  • Remember this song when it first came out. You got to love it. This song was at my party a lot. Especially the big one I had back in High School.

    Thanks for the awesome memories.

  • ABC is awsome man.haha

  • A classic - pure and simple.

  • what a good song and the clip is pretty good too

  • what a song timeless

never dates better than the crap being produced today

    yeah yeah yeah

  • Wow....this brings back serious memories. Imiss the 80's soooo much. Thanks for posting!

  • This is a great song and the video must have been a lot of fun to make.

  • "When your world is full of strange arrangments..and gravity will pull u thru, you know your missing out on something and that something depends on you"..."ABC "the lexicon of love".

  • Takes me happily back. Love this stuff!

  • Il brano è meraviglioso (ma è del 1982, non del 1985) ma il video è terribile

  • Sigh. People have forgotten that videos used to be incidental and secondary to the music, so the bands and their teams used them to explore different outlooks on the songs. They were silly, creative, and often wonderful. This bit of whimsy certainly displays ABC's flair for theatrics, as did all videos by Ultravox, Duran Duran, and a slew of other 'New Romantic' bands. Lighten up and enjoy them for what they were, not for whet they seem now, with 25 years of hindsight coloring our view.

  • word

    (yes, i second that 'emotion''

  • These were days of innocence for most of us, and bands like ABC where indicative of the times. There is way to much hate cultivated in our world now, and sex and violence has permeated even the youngest minds, these days are long gone, and for Christs sakes I miss them.. Just ask yourself 1 question, could a movie like GREASE ever make it in these times..I think not.... Doesn't contain enough nudity, violence and political innuendo. Peace!

  • I hear you loud and clear.

  • Yes and I think Brian Ferry set the stage for these type of bands. Also Spandau Ballet.

  • they were the days that music was good then.

  • Someone needs to do a literal music video to this one haha

  • vintage 80 cheese, but i love every second!!

  • One of the best songs ever... shame about the vid!

  • heck the video is the best part!

  • heard this yesterday in American Dad

  • lol same

  • Why do posters always say the vid's from ABC or the 80's in general, are terrible or weird?.. You've got to remember this is the 80's a time of creativity and imagination when it comes to MTV... Not like the vids of today which only have sex an violence to look at... Now that is what really Sucks!....Long live 80's and early MTV of yesteryear!....."Jagar"

  • What?!!?!? MTV still shows music videos?!!?

  • if MTV would start back playing videos, especially ones from the 80s instead of these stupid reality shows, then today's young demographics wouldn't have these dumb expectations of 80s videos.

  • An excellent timeless song marred by a truly terrible video. I love this song but the video sucks!

  • sexy ass song ever to dance to dance to

  • Damn! It's been years since I saw this. I remember MTV was only able to be viewed on satalite at the time where I was and my buddy had Satalite!! This was one of the first videos I remember seeing on MTV. Memories! :)

  • 1:36 What's That? (Paul Morley!)

  • Hey chuyalegria, so...what would you like ? yo yo in da house, full effect, yeah yeah...something like that ? please...you don't know about music that still play on the radio for almost 30 yrs!!!

  • cheesy and senseless but.. stil pretty good

    5 stars!

  • i would differ, it isn't sensless at all... you just have to take a deeper look into the lyrics

  • That makes no sense. You straight up just contradicted yourself

  • hhhh

  • When your world is full of strange arrangements

And gravity wont pull you through

You know youre missing out on something

Well that something depends on you

All Im saying, it takes a lot to love you

All Im doing, you know its true

All I mean now, theres one thing

Yes one thing that turns this grey sky to blue

If you judge a book by the cover,

Then youd judge the look by the lover...

  • zajebiste !!!!!!

  • 16 in 1983 and this video kicked ass.... The LAST great year of MTV........
