It's a shame this is Sri's last film. she was actually starting to get the grip of voice modulation. I thought she was dubbed by someone in the first 5mins, cuz she sounds so different. The "understand" dialogue are SOoooo Rajnikanth though! :p Anil Kapoor is still his overacting self...

Yes as far as I know, the Telugu version was not as successful as the Hindi one and when asked by media about not so good BO of the Telugu version, Chiranjeevi's reply was, we did not have SRIDEVI in Telugu. :)

It was a funny and interesting movie. Sri Devi was so scary and sometimes even "bitchy", you know, mean. She played that role very convincingly. I actually feared her! She is capable of playing different kind of roles. Even though this was a nice performance of her, yet I don't like to see her play evil roles.

The comparison with Amitabh Bachchan is spot on, though in a different way. She seems to fit well into the rare angry young(or old) woman persona.

That said, I don't consider her to be a great actress. Overacting, shrill voice, unpleasant looks and figure, and ridiculuosly hammy performances both in dialogue delivery and dances

Notice all her hits in hindi films have been in the 80s, when the antics of the Jeetendra-Dharmendra-bandar brigade were the norm.
