Am becoming increasingly interested in this candidate. As a white female from a single-parent household, moving and changing schools a lot, an honor student--I felt very confused and 'outside' the college education system; took me years to wander into a community college and later earn a degree from UC Berkely. Tons of school loans. A service to country program seems logical. And mentor students re college at a young age forward, not when they are seniors. I was outside system at that point.
