  • kinda cool that the "Live in Sweden". Disc one was recorded live in '''Örebro'', Sweeden, August 15, 1983. Disc two was recorded on the very next night in Avesta, Sweden

  • @Grumberf the weird thing is the date don't fit in correctly when you look at the other date when the gigs were set and made

  • @Grumberf

The weird thing you're alluding to is actually 8/6/1983 (Aug 6). Supposedly Orebro is 8/5, but two distinct recordings exist for 8/6. One is the "official" soundboard, and the other is an audience recording. Both of those recordings are different. Common sense tells me the soundboard is from another date, but then that brings up the question, "which date?".

  • @blacksabfan Theres An annoucer that have been told it were a sunboard agust 7 and the night after In Avesta but the dum thing about it is that they cloudn't have played twice in Avesta ?

It' must have been from somewhere else

  • @Grumberf

Right, and all the dates they did play are documented, and there's only a select few dates where there are no recordings known, so there's only a few possible choices it could be. We'll probably never find out for sure though.

  • Who is doing the lousy background singing totally out of tune?

  • I miss you phil

  • Phil Lynott will go down as one of the greatest Irish artists of all time, no pretence about him just a true artist who had an unbelievable talent.

This has being one of my favourite songs since I first heard it as a kid and no matter how many times you hear it, it has the same effect awe / nostalgia / appreciation Etc. truly fitting that we have this song to remember Phil with.

  • RIP Phillo!

  • I love this song. R.I.P. Phil. Miss you.

  • My band covers this song...always to great response. I met Phil during the Chinatown era.....it was an honor that I'll never forget. A true legend and gentleman RIP.

  • RIP Phil.

  • old town live. another piece of rock history. the track has a cheesy eighties aor feel to it(downey's drums even sound like an electronic rhythm generator), yet lynott makes it WORK................

  • @jonbecker03 Recorded music music has always been about technology
