  • This cute commercial is from 1963-64 as is shows the "new" pigtailed Chatty Cathy, and the newly introduced Tiny Chatty Baby, Tiny Chatty Brother and Charmin' Chatty. We see Maureen McCormick with the Chatty Cathy and Eve Plumb playing with the rare Tiny Chatty Baby and Tiny Chatty Brother "gift set" called Tiny Chatty Twins... rare, because they came with their own special teeter-totter... each doll was sold separately too. Charmin' Chatty, with her changeable records is really neat to see too!

  • Omg you put a record inside it!? lol

  • Yes the little girl at :15 could be Eve Plumb. It looks like her smile and her nose

  • The little girl with the doll with glasses that has the record was Kimberly Beck. She started out on the soap opera Peyton Place. Then she played on TV shows like I Dream Of Jeannie, she was also one of the many children in the movie Your's Mine and Our's. She went on another soap as a young adult on Capitol. She was known then as Kimberly Beck Hilton.

  • 0:25 she looks like shes sceaming somthin

  • now we would be like, "NIGGA GIVE ME A DAMN COOKIE!" xD

  • @iluvpie20101 LMFAO!!!!

  • I love it: gender stereotyping to the max - "girls-mothering-communication." Boys' toys, on the other hand, were all about ACTION!!!!!!

  • @nycruise all about killing and death and violence you mean.

  • Which one do you want? That guy sounded gay! Light in the loafers they said back then! I had one of the original chatty cathy.

  • Chatty Cathy was the first doll that woulc talk! I remember the day my father brought her home to me as a gift! That was fifty years ago ;) I will never forget the day!

  • thsi is gay

  • so this is where my old nick name comes from!

  • If I had one of those dolls, I would switch out the record for a fat albert one and hide in my sister's room then turn it on at midnight.

  • yes that was a record not a CD!

  • Charmin Chatty has almost the same face as Talky Tiny from that Twilight Zone episode.

  • Can I eat the shiny, three leaf vine on the wall, Mommy ?

  • I preferred my panda bear and jolly wog. barbie never did it for me!

  • I hated Barbie> she look like a cheap tramp!

  • scary

  • I had one of those dolls

  • i don' care what anybody says, there something intensely creepy about dolls that talk.

  • just like Talky Tina

  • It is Jan, or Eve Plumb. And that one girl was in one of the Brady Bunch episodes. So those girls knew each other long before that TV show came on the air ! The voice of the doll sounds like actress and voice of Rocky the Flying Squirrel, June Foray.

  • @amuslima99 it's funny I've seen this commercial before and noticed that the first little girl is Maureen McCormick ( Marcia), but never noticed until now that the little girl laying on the grass was Eve Plumb.

  • @PatrickLHawkins They've known each other quite a while, haven't they? lol.

  • @PatrickLHawkins Maureen McCormick was also the voice of Chatty Cathy. Mattel got its money's worth out of her.

  • @davidls11 Oh Wow! your right. I knew that June Foray was the original voice,(it's heard in this commercial), but didn't know that Maureen did it as well. I googled it and she did indeed do the voice for the 1970 remake.

  • @PatrickLHawkins

But is this ad from the early '70s?

  • @ClassicTVMan1981X it's more mid to late 60's.

  • which one do i want? ALL OF THEM!!!!

  • They had a separate ad for "Charmin' Chatty" which featured Angela Cartwright playing with the doll (tvdays has the ad posted here on YouTube).

  • wish ihad the baby!(=

  • I want the one with the record.

  • aww cute

    xoxo aubz
