Dick you are right to present these points but the sub/div of our land wont stop , we need to re mineralise & use our tired soils with soft rock phosphates & raise the humus levels naturally, the next logical step would be to fertilise them with the carbon & wastes generated by all the fake greenies living in the cities.
Can somebody tell me why we have not had a decent Govt since the 2nd W W ? I think its because we have career politicians who are in it for the pay & the super. Super that is invested in Chinese or mining co,s along with every mum & dad in Aust . Dick why do all of our greenies live in the cities ? i'm anti-population growth, but just because we can't produce enough wheat on our own soil doesn't mean we can't support a larger population - that's a pretty sloppy argument. look at the shirt your wearing right now, does it say made in australia on the tag? for most of you i'm guessing not, but does that mean you see naked people walking the streets all the time? well then i ask, are people in Australia going to starve to death because we import wheat?
@gibbernaught Exporting the majority of our food leads to huge social problems. What happens when you have a huge number of people that are no longer needed in argicultural areas to produce food. Those areas lose people to the cities. However the cities only need a certain number of people and so they find it hard to get work. So they have a couple of choices the dole or crime. We are already experiencing a mass exodus from rural areas and there are only so many jobs needed in the city.
@kcdl What you are talking about in the end is a recipe for mass poverty. By reducing our need for factory jobs and agriculture jobs you are leaving the people at the poorest end of the social-economic scale with no hope for employment.
@kcdl it's not sustainable to keep a dying industry alive. we can pump billions into agriculture to keep it alive, but it's never going to wake up from the coma. Same with manufacturing. Australia can't compete with the rest of the world in those industries (except for a few niche companies making specialist products). In history, when an industry dries up, people find work somewhere else. When one door closes, another opens. It's never an easy transition, but it will happen.
@gibbernaught I would agree with you if you were referring to an obsolete industry. This is an industry that is dying due to greed. We are exploiting the poor pay and work conditions of people in poor countries to make bigger profits.

There is nothing saying we cant have a small population with good jobs and good homes like Australia once was Its all about Greed and replacement of Aussies by a more dispensable and exploitable bunch of Foreigners meanwhile our environment is being used an abused by Palmer and co Where is my nation?

Also in the city jobs will be scarce and whoever is most exploitable (=end of unionism or effective unionism as we knew it) i.e. the Paki or Indian will gain the job even if they murdered or have a fraudulent doctors certificate brought so the internet migration company would support them for visa then resident status HERE! We are not only importing the worst yet IN MASS! The native Aussie is being PUSHED OUT.
