  • you dumbass dont you know anything about football. thay had to kill the clock

  • if the eagles scored right there they would lead 17-6 so with 2:00 left dallas coulda scored a TD, recovered an onside kick, then scored again this was all Jon Runyan's idea he knew they could go into victory formation at the 1 so he was screaming "Go down, West!"

  • He kneeled @ the 1 because of Big-D's comeback on MNF the week prior vs the Bills. They came back 25-24; 2 possessions away from the lead with less than 30 sec. left.

  • dude shut up tht was a smarter move then u would make

  • lmao he might be wasting time...

  • inteligent, not like Alex Smith.

  • I had Westy on my team and I still won this week..but I'm a Philly fan first. This was probably one of the smartest plays ever by a RB..Great Job Westbrook

  • Smartest Moment*

  • I won my fantasy league back in 2007 because the guy I was playing that week had Westbrook on his roster. Good times.

  • Can some one explain to me how this is the right play? I'm sure he knows what he's doing, but I don't see how it helps his team more than a touch down would have.

  • @Petawawa8 The cowboys could theoretically score a TD on a kick return, onside kick, and score again to win the game (14 points as opposed to the 11 point lead the Eagles would have). If the cowboys have no timeouts left the Eagles have first down on the 1, they can just knee the ball 4 times and run out the 2 minutes. Not exciting, but far easier to run out the clock.

  • @Petawawa8 by downing it at the 1 yard line, the eagles keep the ball and can run down the clock instead of getting the touchdown and then giving it to the cowboys, which would allow them a chance to score and maybe win/tie the game.

  • Man, I remember watching this.

  • I have played fantsay football and it can be fun however, Fantasy Football is to the NFL what D&D is to high school.

  • hope u do know that ur title for the video is an opinion

  • Fantasy football is for idiots with too much time and not enough to worry about. Sry =X

  • he went down to keep the clock going stupid

  • lol the eagles are the last team i would expect to work together

  • Fantasy Football: the one thing wrong about sportsmanship of today

  • who ever made this is has no idea what time management meant is

  • @duncan63stud where did you learn to speak english?

  • A lot of people seem to not be understanding what happened. Taking a knee didn't let the Eagles run "more" time off the clock or run "an extra minute off." They ran ALL the time off. When Westbrook's knee touched the ground in this video the football game was for all intents and purposes over.

  • Westbrook was thinking too much. It's good to run the clock but it's better to score and make the game 17-6 with 2minutes in the game.

  • @cmann517 Why? So the Giants could've tried to rally with a two minute drill, then go for an onside kick? Granted, teh odds of that happening were slim, but just keeping the ball and running out the clock was slimmer.

  • @pyoobez dude.. theyre playing the cowboys, not the giants. just shut up

  • @yuhatn my bad shitty quality and didn't watch to the end. oh and nice irony of having the sn yuhatn and hatin' on somebody.

  • Not enough people said the same explanation of what happened. Can anyone else post the same thing everyone has already said again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again?

  • He is wasting the clock dumass

  • he uderstands what he was doing he was just pissed because he wanted his 6 points

  • Um... he was running down the clock stupid

  • I was at that game and I loved it. Very smart by westbrook. The frst and only nfl game I went to and the eagles won! I was so happy!

  • why would he do that!?!?!

  • @warrock913 he did that so the eagles could run more of the clock down unstead of the the cowboys getting a toucdown and having a chance at an onside kick

  • MJD did the same thing lol

  • seriosly thats the reason mcoy is starting now wait WTF did he stop for! what an idiot a touchdown or risk falling and breaking his little soft legs!

  • @dxjdog He stopped so they can just run out the clock. Doing this is a pretty much a 100% chance of winning. If he made the touchdown, the other team could of say got a touchdown then onside and made another touchdown to win the game. Its a very tiny chance, but he would rather have a 100% chance of winning the game then like 90%.

  • @dxjdog you clearly do not know football

  • a TD would have stopped the clock and they are only up 4 points. Peyton Manning did the same exact thing last year if you don't remember. Team Players would rather run the clock down then add to their personal stats.

  • That was smart football! The eagles had to run out the clock instead of giving the cowboys back the ball.

  • idiots clearly dont know thats what they told him to do

  • You play to win the game !

  • @tcam1197 Hello? lol

  • Ha! Fucking losers! This is real life football. Not your baby girl fantasy. Suckas!!

  • lol idiot. hes trying to win the game

  • Yea he is playing football smart!!! U have no idea what strategy is?

  • @crispy1020 I see you live up to your name by trying to sound smart but your definitely crispy.

  • @crispy1020 that is not smart footbal because i have seen 100 time ppl get stuffed on the 1

  • @crispy1020 It's still fantasy heartbreak. Learn2speakenglish too

  • @NEPatriots128154 How ironic.

  • @crispy1020 Good to know you read the title of the video before you commented!

  • @crispy1020 did you not read the title, genius?

  • Westbrook was trying to win the football game you idiots!!!!!!!! Don't you guys know anything about football??????

  • I was mad as shit he didn't score that TD. I understood why he did it but cmon man it's the cowboys.

  • the orginal

  • This is definitely not a dumb move. Notice how he just stopped, it wasnt an attempt to look fancy, the eagles wanted to run down to below the 2 minute warning and then score so that the cowboys would have a rough time coming back

  • you can see the eagle behind him telling him to go down

  • Also, this play is neutral from a fantasy standpoint, as is every play. Every fantasy player has an opponent, after all.

  • Fantasy is fun but that's how it ruins the game of football...At some point you want a player to do good or bad even when you shouldn't. Big time eagles fan mad that DeMarco Murray is out for the season....Fuck (-_-)

  • well they would have been up prob 17 to 6 if he scored. a two possion lead. i do think it was smart but i still think with the score they would have been pretty safe

  • @GAUNTTJ its definitely safe if he doesnt score and the cowboys dont get the ball back

  • @GAUNTTJ A lot of teams have scored twice inside 2 minutes. Onside kicks are successful about 20% of the time. In fact, I remember a few years back that Seattle scored FOUR touchdowns in under 2 minutes. The only way to be sure the other team won't score is to make sure they don't touch the ball.

  • @GAUNTTJ.....but with a ton more time on the clock, that was the issue. Probably saved a full minute or slightly less.

  • Uhm dodgers I think you are a legitimate retard not being able to infer sarcasm.

  • one of the smartest plays ive ever seen, screw the td he wanted the win, that should be shown when ever talking about being a team player.

  • Not really smart. It was only 10 sec. from the 2min warning anyway!

  • He was trying to run the clock out! Very smart play!

  • tht was a very smart play

  • @PolishTank79 Change your username to PolishJackassWho69sWithHisMother. Open your fucking eyes, jackass.

  • @UntilWeMeetAgainVic

you are so intelligent. you really burned me there. im sorry.

  • @PolishTank79 Oh, you're sorry alright...

  • @UntilWeMeetAgainVic .........LOL!!!

  • seriously? some kid that doesnt know anything about football outside of the john madden games probly posted this. i saw that play live. it was one of the most heads up plays ive seen in 25 years of watching football. damn kids these days. so caught up in the digital world they make asses outta themselves in the real one....!!

  • @PolishTank79

(Update 3/4/08) - So, after reading the comments. I just wanted to point out that Westbrook is one of my favorite players, and he did the right thing. I just uploaded the video to point out the fantasy implications (I lost my game as a result of this).

Wow, way to be an asshole and call this guy an ass when he was joking around.

  • Comment removed

  • he wanted t burn time best play

  • Fantasy Football is a joke anyway

  • whats that fantasy football?

  • I'm tired of fantasy football. Westbrook did the smart thing and sealed the win. Could the Cowboys have scored two TD's in a little over two minutes? Probably not. But this way, the Eagles kneel, run out the clock and get the win. Football is about winning, working as a team, and working hard; not about stats. Fantasy football takes people away from what football is all about.

  • @DanVelinski in other words you drafted Jamaal Charles in all your leagues

  • @LoLzerzzzz No, I don't play fantasy football. I'm sick hearing about it.

  • @DanVelinski I agree, my whole family didn't care tht the Bears missed the playoffs, they only cared about losing AP in the last game. :(

  • @DanVelinski whats fantasy football?

  • @BingBongWasheeWashee Fantasy football is a game in which a group of people "draft" players for their "team." Points are earned when a player gains yards, scores touchdowns, and so on. So, the goal is to pick the players who will score the most, gain the most yards, stay the healthiest, and so on. Some people really dig it, others don't. I don't like it myself.

  • @DanVelinski does it actually take place as a regular season game or what

  • @BingBongWasheeWashee No, people either do it over the internet or organize together before the season. nfl.com has fantasy, I believe. Prizes for the winners, if I'm not mistaken. Anyways, no, it's something people in an office get together to do.

  • @DanVelinski when does it take place

  • @DanVelinski but people attend the games? this looked like a reg season game

  • @BingBongWasheeWashee It is a regular season game. The reason this is bad for fantasy people is that Westbrook took a knee at the one instead of scoring, which cost his fantasy owners points. Fantasy football is based on real game stats, people don't play it at the games themselves.

  • @DanVelinski oh so they do stuff on nfl.com for a team's next game

  • @BingBongWasheeWashee I don't play fantasy football, and I think it's over for the most part. If you're interested, look it up. If you still like it, study it, then you can play next season. I'm not an expert, and I don't want to give you bad information.

  • You're out of your mind if he did this for pride. professional athletes don't do it for pride or their team, they do it for publicity and that paycheck. the cowboys only scored 6 points that game. Do you think they could've scored two touchdowns in under two minutes at that rate?

  • @thegei Its possible. smart play.

  • @thegei its a smart play, just knee it out

  • his friend for fantasy had russel westbrook and russel westbrook didn't want him to score

  • good play

  • Like a boss.

  • the announcer had no idea what he was doing..

  • for Fantasy Football id wanna kill him

for Eagle's fans id wanna kill him

for Eagle's coach i love him now

  • Team Player

  • that was a smart play. touchdown stops the clock, if he would of kept running dallas would've had more time to score!

  • haha dumbest play ever, they would be up two possessions anyways gues thats why he doesnt play anymore....

  • @GoldenPoopywangrJR79 Dumbass, Cowboys would have got the ball and been able to onside kick. Dipshit.

  • @Clintonomore So you're assuming with 2:09 seconds left with no timeouts it was a guarantee that the Cowboys would have scored AND got the 2 point conversion AND got the onside kick AND hit a field goal?

Show me when all that has happened. Looks like we know who the real dipshit is, dipshit.

  • Who gives a FUCK ABOUT FANTASY FOOTBALL...... u play 2 win the game

  • MJD for the jags did the same thing. both were very smart plays

  • i think they wouldve won regardless

  • Wow, that was a brilliant move. I would never have thought of that.

  • phuck philly!

  • Westbrook was clearly going against himself in fantasy

  • @JS6875

Ur an idiot, he's not playing for fantasy owners dumb A. Clearly he is going for the best chance to win.

  • @dodgers162003 Your the idiot buddy. Sorry but I am pretty sure JS6875 was just being sarcastic, but we all applaud your vast knowledge of football. Nice try...

  • @AAMartins26

Haha u must think ur a boss? Nice try. So which is it, am I an idiot, or do I have vast knowledge? Talk about a dumb A

  • @dodgers162003 What are you talking about? Do you understand sarcasm? Haha....I actually feel bad for you.

  • @JS6875 thats some funny ass shit

  • the guy who posted this is a moron

  • that was really smart

  • He wanted 2 go down so he would kill the clock.

  • Maurice Jones-Drew did the same thing a couple seasons ago. He even said sorry to his fantasy owners for it, but he wanted to make sure the Jaguars won that game with an easy field goal with no time left.

  • one of the most unselfish play ever

  • In the words of another former Eagle (one Herman Edwards), he played to win the game.

  • steven jackson did the same thing

  • there goes your fantasy team

  • Hahaha football pads. Lame.

  • Get a life you nerdy ass fantasy players who have never picked up a pair of football pads in their life.

  • You're dumb that is a really smart football play. Oh he hurt my fantasy team. Get over it

  • YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME!

  • correction: Smartest play in football history

  • @NegLectClan correction: piss off

  • @lilCaucasian calm down jesus christ

  • @NegLectClan That's not a correction; that's an addition.

It was the "worst moment in fantasy football history" and yet one of the smartest plays in actual football history.

  • @AvengingEnder stop being a dick

  • @lmaoitschad Did you not see Phillip Rivers fumble the snap against the Chiefs this season. Do You not remember Tony Romo fumbling the snap in the Conference championship a couple of years ago. Who ever think that fumbled snaps don't happen in the NFL are idiots. Westbrook was better off scoring to put his team up by two scores with two minutes to go. what Jones Drew did was more acceptable because if he had scored his team would have only held a 6 point lead with 1:24 to go on the clock.

  • @playoffexpert1 your a FAGGOT!

  • I started learning about football this year did he take a knee so he could run down the clock and not give the cowboys a chance to score

  • WAT THE FUCK

  • I'm proud to say the 'worst moment" in that bullshit waste fantasy football came from an Eagle. All that shit is just a waste of time, be a fan of a team, not follow your team and 3 million other players so I can have bragging rights to my dumbass friends, who gives a shit? And that's without even adding players. Do you really think Westbrook or any other player gives a shit about your fantasy team, or would they rather win the game? Get a fucking life.

    FANTASY SPORTS = FUCKING RETARTED.

  • @playoffexpert1 Fantasy football is like dungeon and dragon for jocks lol

  • if you dont understand why he did that you shouldnt even be watching football. enough said.

  • beautiful unselfish

  • why did he do that?

  • @MegaoXon he bet against himself lololololol

  • dumb faggot

  • @cobbfilms22 who? Brian Westbrook? i mean he only put his team in the best possible situation to win the game. so as a matter of fact, it was pretty damn smart. but your a fucking idiot so how are you supposed to know that?

  • LMAO if you had him on your fantasy team and you were watching this live I bet you thought Westbrook was out to get you.

  • good play

  • @ps2nolimits Bad play because if they fumble a snap on the next play and the Cowboys get the ball back then what. He should have scored and the Cowboys would have been down by two scores with on time on the clock. I cant believe people say that's a good play.

  • @MEEDdrama the odds the snap will be fumbled are ridiculously low

  • @MEEDdrama fumble the snap. they are in the NFL, not high school. im pretty sure they can snap the ball well. i cant believe you just said that " if they fumble the snap on the next play". your pretty stupid.

  • @lmaoitschad obviously you dont watch football, bad snap count, or the center jumps theres always a couple bobbled snaps in a game

  • @justinsaneify I think he's trolling you lol, no one is that stupid

  • @justinsaneify obviously the odds of a fumbled snap on the next play is pretty fucking low buddy. even if there are a couple a game. ive seen games with no bobbled snaps. so that statement actually made no sense.

  • lol whatever happened to this guy, ya kno?

  • @awesomesauce0001 went to the 49ers. not sure if he is still there.

  • motha fucker jones-drew did the same shit

  • I hate it when that happens, or when you have a WR playing and the team is up by a lot so they just run the ball the rest of the game. It's agonizing for sure.

  • @GhostDistortion I remember that one. My (and DeSean Jackson's) debut season. Westbrook kneeling at the one. But I won that week anyway. DeSean Jackson chucking it away at the one, I got Westbrook to cover. This year, no such luck.

  • my cousin lost by 2 points that week IN THE PLAYOFFS and had westbrook. quite humorous if i do say so myself.

  • Only women and fags use the word, cliché. That must of rubbed off on you while your dad was... rubbing off on you!

  • @HKISfreak1 I didn't hear joe buck say Dallas was out of timeouts but I still would have ran Westbrook in

  • @HKISfreak1 I missed joe buck saying that Dallas was out of time outs the first time I saw this so that makes a little more sense but if it had been me, whether I was Westbrook or Reid I would sent him on in just to be safe

  • @woodyburns eh, i think it was safer just to kneel the clock out, it keeps dallas from getting the ball, and even though they had no more timeouts, they still had the 2 min warning and anything can happen in 2 min, timeouts or not.

  • I don't really understand why Andy Reid would have even called for him to do that. An 11 point lead is a helluva lot better than a 4 point lead. Not so much from a fantasy viewpoint as just a general football outlook. I'm not a coach, never played football on any level outside of gym class and a couple of 10 min games at the park, but they always show on tv coaches grinding it into players to score whenever they have the chance. I dunno what the final score was in this, but Dallas would have l

  • @woodyburns its not in this situation. because the eagles would still have the ball with 1 minute and a half to go, so they could kneel the ball and run out the clock. That gives them a much safer bet to win the game.

  • @woodyburns but dallas doesn't even have a shot with that 4 point deficit dummy. if he woulda scored dallas would have gotten the ball and a chance to win....

  • He wasnt playing 4 his fantasy owners or his own glory he was playing to win

  • @doc2026 x-actly

  • Don't understand fantasy. Explain plz

  • @GotAnEyedea nvm

  • someone explain to me, how this is not good pls

  • He did that to run the clock out jackass.

  • for all of u who dont think it would hav been possible for the cowboys to score 11 points in 2 minutes... remember that last year the eagles were able to score 28 points in 7:28. it is very possible

  • @LaxDude45MC With Romo.... nothing is possible

  • Comment removed

  • @LaxDude45MC 28 points in 7 min is alot easier than 11 in 2 w/ no time outs

  • @megamante360 its still possible, so kneeling the ball is still the best decision
