  • I believe the song beginning at 3:50 is called Kombu. I have Huun-Huur-Tu's more down-tempo arrangement of it on my channel.

  • 0Tengiz0<=Another Anatolian idiot who is fan of Pan-Turkism...

  • Can anybody provide more details about the instrument being played here. Name? How many strings? Tuning? Thanks.

  • It is called a doshpuluur, the Tuvan version of a topshuur. They vary from two to four strings. Wikipedia has more info on them.

  • God damn, Mongun Ool Ondar is so fucking bad ass! Why did Bady Dorzhu win the Symposium anyway? Mongun's way better.

  • I could drive a semi truck to this.

    It's sounds like a wandering traveler's song.

Never heard of khoomei throat singing before.

  • o_O stumbled over the term in a physics note online. this is really interesting...i likes. its soo trippy! i wanna learn now....but i don't think ill get the hang of it. my voice as it is already sucks -_-

  • Pssh! I wouldn't guess he could sing like that when he first started. I just heard about throat singing from a friend of mine who taught himself khoomei, kargyraa, and sygyt just by listening to CDs of it and practicing on his own. He sounds really good to me.

    You should believe in yourself.

  • well put. however, i must add that Mongun-ool Ondar indeed has such an impressive control of this, that all respects must fly to the guy. its relatively easy to teach yerself khoomei and kargyraa, but sygyt needs one hell of a good control.

  • @GalenOfSunol look at "siberian throat singing" and you can see him in his young years.

  • go for it, one does not need a good voice for khoomei :) it just takes alot of practice and dedication to learn but it is entirely possible :)

  • SHU-DE GAVOY!!

  • miazga! (amazing)
