Referee FAIL! Another amazing catch reversed on rule technicality

He was on his way to the ground as soon as he caught it, so he has to retain control all the way through. It doesn't matter how many steps he took; he was falling, so the "retain control all the way to the ground" rule applies. Who are these announcers that don't know basic football rules?

How did the replay officials miss it? Terrible call but that is Pac 10 officials.

what "technicality" did they say disqualified this as a catch? CLEARLY a catch and then a stumble and he fell...smh...sorry players, looks like your great effort is for nothing!

Looks like the ball is on the ground at the 45 second mark. Is there something I am missing?

@durpe The ground can't cause a fumble. It was definitely a catch, he had the ball in his hand and took 3-4 steps. When he landed the ball popped out, but ground can't cause a fumble. What a horrible horrible call.
