  • Thanks to Channel 26 News in New Orleans and WeatherNation for asking me if they can air my New Storm vidoes of Tropical Storm Lee on the News and their website! I had request like this a few years back also on this Gustav video! WeatherNation is going to do a National News Segment with my videos! I would love to work as a News Anchor covering these storms! Maybe someone will contact me about this soon? Upbeat and Exciting coverage I will provide! Thanks!

  • Im from New Orleans also but im on the north shore so we didnt get to much damage from gustav but in my neighborhood we got about 8 trees knocked down and a little bit of flooding but we got major damage from katrina

  • that's amazing in 5mins day turns into night.

  • Nice looking area.

  • Is a tornado from a hurricane or tropical storm different than a supercell ones ?

  • @molonlave2010 Not nessiscarily, they do the same damage, except when they are from Tropical Systems, they rarely get above an EF3

  • be under the hand of God! beautiful phrase

  • I was 2 streets over when i lived in n.o.! It was CRAZY! We stayed there for 4 years and never seen this much action!!

  • I remmber this storm i live in lower lafourche

  • Bobby Jindal tottally failed. He called for a manditory evacuation of Assumption and livingston parish but he didn't for Ascension parish and we got the worst of the eye. Inface all of they eye after Batonrouge.

  • amasing. how fucking fast the clouds came to you.

  • That was very scary....I remember this hurricane...we had tons of trees down and hail, lots of wind and rain....scary to see it right from your own driveway!

  • i live in luling and we barely ever get tornadoes.

  • why was there a cop??

  • im from lafayette... im so happy we evacd outta there... they said they had like 8 tornado warnings within 2 hours over there... we stayed for rita when it came in and NEVER AGAIN will i stay for a storm... ever... a house about 6 houses down from us got hit by a tornado and made all kinda mess

  • Not really. It has an eye which is sometimes called a wall cloud but in reality they are two different things.

  • ManI realy wannamove to Nevada. You never hearNevadagetting hit my serious storms because their in the fucking desert.Seriously if you panick like me during strorms Nevada would be the perfect place. And OMFG>On the news,They had 15 tornadoes touch down in New Orleans!

  • Very large shelf cloud. You could see the rotation inside the shelf cloud kinda.

  • Well, isn't a hurricane a rotating wall cloud of some sort?

  • Nightmarish the way the wind and the clouds swoop in with such power

  • this video was good

    wanting new friends m7

  • see the clouds turning colors in video starting at 4:00, that is how you sense a tornado, cloud color, red, purple, blue, gray, black

  • The calm before the storm, and then "BOOM"

  • I can destroy these monsters...

and want to make my discovering in practice...

  • wow at 4:00 and after, the wind was realy picking up... I'm never gonna experience hurricanes since i live in norway :(

  • never say never...remember the hurricane that hit europe in January last year

  • true.. but it was nothing up in norway.. since we got huge mountains to protect us...

  • can hurricanes normaly produce tornadoes?

  • Certainly. Anytime you live east of the hurricane's path, there's always a risk of tornadoes. So, the answer to your question is yes. This information came straight from the meteorologist on TV.

  • yes

  • finally done w/ my homework ne1 4 chat? E

  • gustav wow the audio says it just like you

  • What's that noise in the background? Cicadas? Katydids? They're LOUD. And that sky IS scary.

  • look straight ahead and you can see the funnel cloud

  • Hope you are still safe... Thanks for sharing the video footage.

  • cool storm. y isnt there alot of lightning though?

  • in most cases where there is potential for a tornado to form, there is no rain or lightning. Click on any video of a tornado, and you'll see that it may sprinkle a tad, but it is dead calm before and while the tornado forms, if it does at all.

  • I work at the jefferson parish water dept. We had a tornado spawn on us lol

    on a side note...

    the grass is soo green!

    :)

  • Ay, That grass is MAD Green! LOL....You're right!

  • I think this is such an eerie video, the streets so empty, noone else around, the darkness descends in literally 2 minutes, you really get an idea of the tension...you're a brave man Charles! Thank You for posting.

  • Do you know Terry Tournillion? He owns a home in Kenner. Your accent reminds me of him. I miss him.

  • I saw this thunderstorm as I live in Kenner also. It was one of the 1st outer bands of Gustav. But I saw no tornado. These types of thunderstorms are typical of the far outer bands of a hurricane. Once in the core of a hurricane, true thunderstorms are rare.

  • yeah, you do rock, charles

  • WTF is that noise in the background, birds or something ? :S

  • cicadas aren't scared

  • they are big bugs that latch to the trees

  • right now, a tropical sstorm with a tornado is in my town

  • Creepy, creepy. i live in Ascension parish and just got my lights back today. I am happy I didn't step outside during the storm! We found fallen limbs that skewerd the ground by over 1 foot. Imagine that falling on my head!
