Where the "h" did the vacuum come from? LOL! My Dad & Uncle took my cousins and me to a WWF match at the local high school gym sometime in the 80's. The Moondogs picked their nose and wiped it on the ring's corner padding. The commentator said something like "That is just gross. That is not socially acceptable behavior."
This was a high school gym. What was the attendance? - And how much did they get paid?
The reason I ask is because when Al Tomko ran All-Star Wrestling in Vancouver, the venue had a similar capacity to what the Smokey Mountain venue in this video appeared to have.
I made 75 bux for this. Back then young wrestlers had to pay dues. AJ Styles would've cried like a little bitch. Hell, most of all these little whiney bitches would've never done a real STIFF match. But then again, they have contracts now and I'm sitting here bitching. It amazes me how male cheerleaders get deals and I'm here.
I feel you promoter gave me 10 bucks , one time , and some timne you dont even get paid ! , drive 100s of miles to get beat up , an do it all over againg for years ! thats dues baby !
@punky7dunk333 wow u were in this match?? Man u guys took a beating from 'dem Moondogs! But youre right guys today would prob be crying like little bitches after taking shots like that. I know I would!
Oh it hurt like a motherfucker! Real stiff and we did not block with our hands like Hogan did.. If we blocked the shot with our hand, they would've broke our fingers. A gash in my head, 2 in my back, and bruises all over my body. I was gonna quit but after the match, I was right back in there again. I remember Brian Lee and the Big Twins, all 6ft6 and huge guys trying to take me to the local bar after the show, because they admired the fact, that I was still alive, and figured we'd clean bar.
I've been watching wrestling since 1980; I was 6 years old. Those were the STIFFEST chairshots I have ever seen in all my years. You have to understand, I grew up in New Orleans watching Mid-South firsthand. That promotion had it's share of blood and guts, and I saw it all, but I actually cringed several times watching this.
Whatever the one guy is making its not enuff for the chair shots he was taking.

The Moondogs were the first gay wrestlers.

Doesn't look like either Moondog had been barred from restaurants. Somebody needed to pull them away from the buffet table at Ryans.

@bearpaw72 they didnt get much but empty promises.
The top stars made enough to travel while the lower card folks made enough to sleep in their cars and eat fast food.
It was a hard life but they still loved it enough to do it.
