Andrew is an angel child.... Your a friend to my ears and to my heart along with everything i feel. About the bullying part if your life. Boy if only i was your friend, i wouldve put a beat down on those who made you feel down. Your an awesome soul. Never let anyone tell you otherwise :)
This is absolutely stirring. It makes your soul cry out to God, and seeing that it is almost Easter, it's a wonderful piece to listen to at around this time. It just makes you cry out to God for his loving mercy, it also lets us remember how God himself died on the Cross so that our sins may be forgiven. Imagine the sorrow of His Blessed Mother, seeing her son, Our Lord, to be in so much pain and suffering. Yet, he died for us. Thank you for uploading this, and God Bless!!!
@mariesadler I do too. You might note that the weary man has something more about him: he is holding a large nail and a hammer meant for pounding it into wood.
I LOVE this song so much!!! The choir sounds AMAZING, and Andrew's voice just takes my breath away! He is so talented! And I love the way he blends in with the choir yet you can still hear his voice. This song is so beautiful and relaxing! All these voices sound like angels!
@idontliketotakeaname go to the catholic church, you'll hear it!! ......Agnus dei, qui tollis peccata mundi, miserere nobis (x2) Agnus dei, qui tollis peccata mundi, dona nobis pacem ..........
haunting & soothing at the same time. perfect for releasing stress and anxiety from a bad day. his voiced has changed to tenor now, but he surely will be an amazing operatic singer as an adult.
@ProductionsTfk So you 'grew up' with Andrew? I take it you must have been very close to know so much about him. That must have been wonderful for you to know such a lovely lad, maybe you can enlighten us and keep us up to date with how Andrew is now?
@ProductionsTfk First you say he wasn't bullied and then you say he was. Bullying comes in different forms. What seems like good natured joking to some can seem very different to the person the joke is about. It is all a matter of perception. You cannot know how it felt to him unless you were him.
@ZacherySteels4U here on you tube type in "When he was on the cross i was on his mind..use florida boys 1987 singing it and it will help explain the first pic. i will explain more later if you like.
@friendjonny Dont hold back the tears. Let yourself go without shame. There is no shame in crying. It just proves to yourself you are HUMAN ! You obviously have a heart.

stop talking blubber-especially about the Lamb of God and the Fisherman-the terms refer to the Astrological signs of Aries and Pisces. The halo around the heads of the saints is the sun etc etc. Do your homework. We are millions of years old and do not need a man made religious icon to 'save us'. We need to reconnect with our own Godself .
The Lamb of God refers to the fact that it was usually lambs that were used in sacrifice to atone for sins for thousands of years and the Fisherman refers to the fact that the disciples were fishermen and Christ then went on to 'fish' for men (and women) to bring them to Him. You don't have to try and 'enlighten' us with the classic conspiricy theories...we know them all. Why do you feel the need to attack us?
Absolutely the most stunningly exquisitely beautiful rendition I have ever heard. I have so many recordings of Agnus Dei, but for me this track featuring Andrew as soloist outshines them all. His voice has everything - quality, purity, power... truly inspirational stuff.
Absolutely one of my favorite Opera pieces. I loved it in the movie 'Platoon'. Makes me cry every time I hear it. Nothing like hearing it live though...it is quite surreal and amazing!
What? Simon Cowell is a presenter for America's Got Talent, Britain's Got Talent and Pop Idol. Anyway, I take this picture in Google and I don't know for his sexual identity, right now It's not important for this piece from Barber.
What you do not seem to understand Ownerccc, is that God IS Jesus. You should really read the bible and understand the holy trinity. God didn't send his son literally. God sent himself in the form of Jesus Christ known as the son of God. Read the bible man. Your comment is arrogantly wrong.

The story of Jesus is silly. God got so upset at Adam and Eve for eating fruit wihtout permission, that the only way He could forgive them was to allow His Beloved Son to come to Earth and be beaten and murdered in total disgrace. Now that makes sense...doesnt it? Wouldn't you send your children to be murdered by strangers so that you could forgive your neighbor for stealing your apples? HAHAHAHAH...idiots.
The point is not the apple. Imagine sitting next to Roman emperor Nero who invites you to eat with him except from grapes. You may do so, but he will not only kill you for disobedience but your whole family. Every king will loose his kingdom if he accepts disobedience. The point is not the apple, it`s separation for disobedience. Thus, the story of Jesus is our undeserved way back to God. He never wanted mankind to surrender like the muslims do but invites for real love from the heart.
No, ownercc! This is the message that says that Jesus gave His life for us, so that all that obey Him won't desire to harm men or nature. And because of it, someday "the lion will lay with the lamb"
Wow, Amazing! I sang the whole 6 parts of Schubert's Mass in G in a choirs I was in last year. This is just the last part and this is so much better then us. Do you have the first 5 parts to the Mass, I would love to hear it?
well you don't have to necessarily listen if the song makes you feel that way. Try and take that out of your head just listen to the choir and Andrews' beautiful voice.
Oh, thanks! This is a really lovely piece of work and now I'm going to have to explore other works by Samuel Barber. In its beautful complexity this work reminds me of Biber's 'Missa Salisburgensis' written 450 years earlier.
i didn't liked that hype about andrew johnston that much - sure he is good, but a lot of other boys are at least as good as him. anyway - this piece is beautiful and very emotional! 5*

Our whole problem in our lives... in this world
is that we can't even accept and receive with an open ear,
a heart the beauty of music: Without context, without conflict.
I hope somehow we will allow ourselves to just listen.
WE ALL have our "stuff." As children we were ALL innocent. As adults we ALL found sadness and loss; those feelings will forever be with us. But maybe
music can lessen our pain: LISTEN... we might find solace, peace and a brief moment of contentment of beauty.

Just a few notes on this wonderful piece if music.
Composed as an Adagio movement for strings by Samuel Barber in 1936.

Those eyes are not for looking but looked upon.
Caste them not here nor wayward down
Look ye up or faraway--to the "distant shore"
Under the shadow of your crystal brow.
Your eyes alone are ambassadors
to the cherished promise of greater realms.
Let us remorse, for we will remorse,
Whilst thou hold firm to the Blessed Vision
From which they and I are peregrine.
