I'm from the US and just discovered this guy a few years ago, by chance on YouTube. I'm SO surprised he hasn't made a crossover here, yet. It's SO great to hear a male singer with a MAN'S voice...not like Justin Beiber or one of the boy-band members from years ago. Nothing against those guys...but it's terrific to hear a real pop baritone. It's rare and WAY cool. Nobody sounds like this right now.

He did some musical theatre lead role in RENT and starred in Wicked for 6 months, hes just completed his final show touring with Whitney Houston, and about to release his 3rd album in the next couple of months. If you have Foxtel, keep an eye out for a new show called Ultimate School Musical: Fame, Anthony is part oft this 10 part series.
I haven't heard about any record company problem? He's still with Sony, but has been working so constantly his album had to be delayed. Hopefully it won't be too long now. Lots of people mentioned his set as a highlight of the Whitney concerts.

"You brought a little bit of class to the house tonight Anthony". And that he did! His rendition of The Prayer outstripped Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman, whom I really like, but there was absolutely no comparison to Anthony's performance. I put Senor Callea in the same category with Michael Ball, Shirley Bassey, Blake. Good Company to be in!

The songs are, Fever and Route 66. Excellent performance, outstanding voice and his understated humility is a very appealing attribute. Do you know who the attractive Black Lady Judge is? talunol I was talking about the idol clips. that is how I accidently came upon Anthony Callea. As far as I am concerned, he beats them all including all of the winners on American Idol. As I told Forwardthinker 22 I had to order his albums over the internet. I could not find them in the County of Ventura, California where I live. That is too bad! Everybody I have turned on to his videos, love the guy.

Callea has done but I had to order his albums over the internet. I could not find them anywhere in Ventura, California area where I live. Same thing with Michael Ball. I like Westlife too, but the same thing went for them. Why these guys restrict themselves to the European market is beyond me.

I don't think though that the artist gets any say in whether an album / song is available in the US. That would be the record label or US restrictions I think and nothing to do with the artist. (I'm pretty sure they'd all like to get released in the US)

On this subject I can only say that Anthony has since the very first time I ever heard his beautiful heavenly voice bought me more musical pleasure and joy than any other artist. I just LOVE his flawless voice which always possesses so much power passion and intensity. Every song Anthony sings he makes it his own. phenomenal talent.
I choose Anthony, but competition isn't what music's about. Why not just enjoy this clip without comparisons or putting other artists down. It's 5 years since Anthony was in that competition.
This is the epitome of all technique, no feeling. The guy can sing, that's for sure. But AI contestants always seem to forget that all the technical virtuosity in the world can never compensate for an emotionally empty rendition. Mariah's version also has this problem, Foreigner's original and Wynonna Judd's cover are the real thing, mainly cuz they pour their heart into the song...

Hello from Canada! I've been following him on Twitter, he's definitely got lots of personality! I'm hoping to do a trip down to Aus middle of next year when I'll have the time and money....and hoping Anthony will be doing some more performances by then so I can hear him live! That's a voice worth travelling across the planet to hear.

I don't think though that the artist gets any say in whether an album / song is available in the US. That would be the record label or US restrictions I think and nothing to do with the artist. (I'm pretty sure they'd all like to get released in the US)

I just absolutely LOVE this magnificent performance by Anthony from Idol. I keep getting drawn back to watch and listen to it over and over. The raw emotion and passion Anthony puts into this powerful performance is amazing. Anthony you are a shining beautiful star with the most heavenly voice I have ever heard.

I completely agree with you muzicanoz and Forwardthinker it should be all about the fantastic music and talent and how much joy and pleasure they bring to the world. On this subject I can only say that Anthony has since the very first time I ever heard his beautiful heavenly voice bought me more musical pleasure and joy than any other artist. I just LOVE his flawless voice which always possesses so much power passion and intensity. Every song Anthony sings he makes it his own. phenomenal talent.

I choose Anthony, but competition isn't what music's about. Why not just enjoy this clip without comparisons or putting other artists down. It's 5 years since Anthony was in that competition.

This is the epitome of all technique, no feeling. The guy can sing, that's for sure. But AI contestants always seem to forget that all the technical virtuosity in the world can never compensate for an emotionally empty rendition. Mariah's version also has this problem, Foreigner's original and Wynonna Judd's cover are the real thing, mainly cuz they pour their heart into the song...

Hello from Canada! I've been following him on Twitter, he's definitely got lots of personality! I'm hoping to do a trip down to Aus middle of next year when I'll have the time and money....and hoping Anthony will be doing some more performances by then so I can hear him live! That's a voice worth travelling across the planet to hear.

This was one of my favourite beautiful songs of Anthony's from Idol. He puts so much emotion and passion into it. He is such a brilliant talent the best in my opinion that Australia has produced we should be so PROUD of him. I know I am. i love anthony i wish hed become famous over here in the U.S! i dont want to make anyone mad but im tired of hearing about susan boyle i like her but the sad thing is i think in my own opinion is that she would not be as famous as she is if people thought she was pretty. and i think susan boyle is beautiful the way she is. i just wish anthony was over here!!!!!
