Why are Federation ships always militarily inferior to any ship they go up against? That's why the later series sucked. Long live Star Trek Old School!
@Wing2137 That doesn't have anything to do with it. On all the later shows Federation or Earth ships are always weaker. TOS always made it an even fight. Through strategy and cunning they would prevail. I call it better writing.
actually compared to enterprise era ships future earth ships are pretty well rounded and can go up against a wide range of enemy ships. I can only think of a handful of aliens in trek that can outclass a earth ship.
@roby14 I was addressing the fact that you were calling them Federation ships. As I said, the Federation was not formed until the end of Star Trek Enterprise.
@Accisma I know that they did, but as outlandish as the tech in Star Trek sometimes is, I doubt that the nukes used during the first Earth-Romulan War were really effective.
Rio de janeiro. I´m not yankee, but admirer of the space explorations. I ask for like this the all citizens of the it USA that they help to save James Webb of the cuts of budget of his Congress. Hear the video below. Help to save the humanity's eyes. And spread for his/her compatriots.
That depends - I had it's moments and it was set for impossible task (only franchise to get BACK in time), yet managed. However, it's nowhere near top episodes of Voyager or DS9 and doesn't begin to compare with TNG - it's superior acting and writing.
@britishbulldog5505 hi ya but too bad not many people see the posistive side of this series without this series there will not be the federation of planets in the first place lol
This is why the first two seasons of Enterprise were crap. They were just helpless, firing shitty little rockets that did no damage, and had to beg for help consistently. Which was weird given that their first mission was to the Klingons - you'd think they would have realised they needed more and better weapons.
I didn't like Enterprise much because it was more like too many other sci fi shows. Not much use of transporter, "shuttlepods", "grenades", docking, and other weird things. Not to mention T'Pol...what a weirdo >_>
Well, it´s the 22nd century after all you know. I think it was cool to see a "not so technological" advanced Star Trek era. But i agree on T´Pol. She is just... not likeable most of the time.
I hated Enterprise because they couldn't stand up to a fight. Any moment could have spelled the end to Enterprise. They had a unnatural string of lucky breaks. They were the b***h of the Alpha Quadrant.
Yes, as a fan of DS9, I believe it was a Breen ship. A hint was in the "stabilizing beam" 's effect on the Enterprise, maybe a precursor to the energy nullifying weapon used in the latter days of the Dominion War. Just sayin'.........
there weapons and "hull plating" where severly upgraded right after the first "Xindi" attack on earth, including "photonic torpedoes" that replaced the "missle torpedoes".
indeed and its a "shame" they never used the "fire everything we got" , spatial torpedoes and photonic torpedoes hitting the target combined with phaser fire =)
@sfs2040 I consider Star Trek Enterprise not part of the original timelime, but a new timeline created after the events in Star Trek First Contact.the NX Enterprise looks to advance for a 22th century earth ship, the new Star trek Movie is essentially a continuation of Enterprise timeline.your right according to the star trek encyclopedia.the ship should have been Valiant design USS Enterprise. carrying lasers & particle beams.nuclear torpedoes,etc...
Unfortunately, what you consider is cannon and what is real cannon are 2 different things. Enterprise is part of the Prime Universe, and the Alternate Universe doesn't deviate from the Prime one until the beginning of Star Trek (2009) when the Kelvin encounters the Narada.
As for the "nuclear torpedoes" I believe they may just be spatial torpedoes and were the most common weapons used in the Earth-Romulan War because photonic torpedoes were rare in early Starfleet.
@sfs2040 Unfortunately what you say is true, now is canon. But for my personal view I still consider it an alter history, due to the fact that Capt.Picard & crew after defeating the Borg in the late 21th century.should have clean up any Borg Debris & bodies, specially since it was their own crew plus also to erase the memories of their presence to Dr.Cochrane.Lily & any other person they encounter.the last scene of First Contact should have been seen Temporal Directive agents visit Picard.
@AnteyPL I agree with that point.but to restore the original timeline & avoid the changes to the 22nd century & 23th in the new Star trek 11 or is it 12 whatever.Capt.Picard & crew violate the prime & Temporal Directives by revealing themselves to Prof.Cochrane,Lily Sloane & the few surviving people.the should have erase their memories of the involvement with the Borg & themselves.you could avoid the Vulcan easily.cause the NX-Enterprise should have been a Valiant class vessel later Daedalus..
@Romulan112 it look like a Breen ship, according to their appearance in Deep Space 9. their ships used a kind of Electro-magnetic Pulse like weapon.this could have been their 1st. encounter but since we never saw them physically, who knows.
this is so damn fake-_- i mean shields doesn't do anything? 1 shot shield gone? + 2 beams+1 torpedo ship explodes? jsut too damn fake...i'm sticking with Stargate SG-1/Atlantis/Universe
way better....real shields real battles not just 2 hits boom! ship gone
@kingsukkelnoob This is a prequel series where their technology is horrible. It's supposed to be like that. And citing Stargate for space-battle realism.. lol. I vastly prefer stargate to Star Trek, but come on.
@Pinworm4 im just telling the truth as a comment to this video...i never watched startrek because it looked to damn bad...enterprise does look more real tho but still...
"They've locked onto us with some kind of stabilising field" no it's called a TRACTOR BEAM. It doesn't matter if you're still using magenetic towcables you should really know these things are if you have any contact with the outside galaxy at all.

I find it SO stupid that none ever used a good old fashion nuke. Considering that nukes would have been around for nearly 200+ years.
biscuitninja 3 months ago
@biscuitninja torpedos use anti-matter, when it annihilates, it fully converts mass to energy. :P nukes are toys compared to anti-matter
BlackNotesWhiteNotes 2 months ago
@biscuitninja and do what with it exactly ?
In space a nuke loses it's effect, the shockwave produced by the explosion is not strongh enough as there is no atmosphere that can amplify it.
The only thing that a nuke produces in space is heaps of radiation, more than in an atmosphere, though nothing that shielding can't handle.
That is why nukes in space a pointless ;)
