That's awesome, I have been thinking about getting this amp. I want something that gets a good variety of rock tones. I know they claim it does metal, does really hard rock sound good on this amp?
@ionjojo WTF? "Does it do metal and hard rock"? ?? Why wouldn't it? Are you saying certain amps will blow up and self destruct if they play X music? ?? I don't get these type of 4th grade, yumyum questions at all.
Have you been playing for a while bro? I take it you're a beginner because anyone that knows how to play will make any amp play ANY style of music. This amp is $3K, I'm damn sure it'll play anything you want it to..the question is..can "YOU" play?
@PinkyWontWork . You obviously have no idea about botique amps. Matchless amps are over $3,000 and are not designed to do hard rock at all. Go back to Guitar Center dic*head and stick with what you probably know. Furthermore, you must be a complete fuc*in loser just sitting on the internet all day looking for people to respond to like an ass. Get a life, and once you have got one figure out what you're talking about before you post a comment.
@PinkyWontWork Lol hard words dude.... amps can do lots of stuff but are designed to do some stuff as good as possible. of course this amp can do hard rock and metal. It will do brutal too but it will never be as good as a recto or a diezel herbert for example. A vox ac30 will shine in sparky cleans and will do metal with a pedal but never as good as an amp designed for metal. The same applies to mega-watt metal monsters that will do clean but with mediocre results.......
@Sozos9038 Yep, would agree. I definitely hope to buy one of these at some point. I bet it would do a lot of heavy stuff really well with a graphic EQ in the loop. Even without, it reminded me of John Petrucci's early tone a bit. It has that aggressive crunchy sound...
@100wattamp Jesus Christ..another one. Go buy a pod 2.0 and turn the "GAiNZ" all the way up so you can have your mushy, bubblegum death metal music kid.
thanks! the best hellcat review so far.
nice playing!

@ionjojo No, I have NO idea about boutique amps..because my Elmwood Modena 60, Diezel Einstein and Surh (CAE) PT100 are not boutique amps.
Stick a pedal in front of a Matchless and it'll do your "cAns iT d0ES mETEAl"..btw "you" responded, what does that make you?

Could you do a video of the Hellcat with the Modern Channel gain all the way up... and the treble down? Thanks!
