Ignorance isn't just the purview of the Democratic Party. The Republicans must share in this gene pool also. Popular media has attempted, and on many cases succeeded, to make us an American Idol voting bloc. We vote on looks, age, likability and little else. We don't attempt to learn the issues and are reticent to change our opinions in the face of overwhelming proof. We, as Americans, would be much better off with news sources outside of our country like the BBC.
Most of this quiz is about non-issues and gossip, or otherwise led or misled the respondents. I think most Obama supporters were honestly duped by some outright lies about the most important issues. For example, I knew the answers to every one of those questions and voted for Obama because he made promises about important issues. I now regret it, but I doubt I would have voted differently because I can't imagine McCain.Palin being better.

I try to vote based on the information that the media gives me about the various choices, although I understand that that info is biased. This is a common tactic called priming. You ask a number of questions such as "who did X" cause them to say the same name over and over and then no matter what you ask they will say who you primed them for. Try it with asking someone a few things about their name, then age, then ask them the colour of a sheet of paper "white", then what cows drink...the answer will be milk, not water.

Torture is immoral and mostly, if not completely, ineffective.
Cash for clunkers was a move to lessen fuel inefficient cars on the road, stimulate economy, lessen pollution, reduce US oil consumption. A lot of people used it, and it was one solution to current US issues.

The FBI is highly successful in prosecuting serious criminals and they do not use torture. I try to listen to what the parties say about themselves and each other, although that too is biased. This is a common tactic called priming. You ask a number of questions such as "who did X" cause them to say the same name over and over and then no matter what you ask they will say who you primed them for. Try it with asking someone a few things about their name, then age, then ask them the colour of a sheet of paper "white", then what cows drink...the answer will be milk, not water.

I feel VERY worked up about these issues, the difference is that I try and respect the opinion of others regardless of how little I agree with. Lowering the tone of debate makes it possible to exchange ideas, opinions, and facts. Isn't that the point? I came to this vid for information and got nothing useful. Torture is immoral and mostly, if not completely, ineffective.
Cash for clunkers was a move to lessen fuel inefficient cars on the road, stimulate economy, lessen pollution, reduce US oil consumption. A lot of people used it, and it was one solution to current US issues.

@oimedic actually torture produces results. i dont know what statistics you are looking at but noone on earth can resist being torture. its a fact. and cash for clunkers was a big waste of time and money. and it wasnt a solution. it cost us more then what it helped. as much as the american reinvestment act did as well....as much as bailing out the car companies did etc etc.

Torture often produces results that are entirely inaccurate. I have heard varying takes on this issue, and in the end I believe that the information given is likely a waste of time and dangerous to follow leads. The FBI is highly successful in prosecuting serious criminals and they do not use torture. Instances of interrogating the wrong person, which happened frequently due to bounties, produces enemy sympathizing.

@oimedic ill agree with that. people whom have been innocent have just said they "did it' so the torture will stop. on the other hand torture has gotten information from people who did know and didnt want to say anything. if we take torture away(btw im sure the gov't black ops officials still use it and wont stop using it) then what have they to fear of us? prosecution? no they dont comprehend what prosecution is. to them it is nothing, its an insult. they want to die to be martyred.

Unsure how much cash for clunkers did for the economy. It was good for pollution and it did address concerns for gas prices/oil dependency which were an issue at the time (and still is). I don't agree with the bailing of car companies. What is wrong with the American reinvestment act?

@oimedic well if our dollar was doing good then gas prices would be the same around oh the clinton era. if you look at gold stock and oil stock you would see that they run relatively the same compared to our dollar and oil. the fact that it didnt do what it was supposed to do. create jobs, i mean im sure it did but last month employment rate shot up again. and it didnt do anything to stimulate our economy either, a waste of 862 billion dollars of my hard earned money, well mostly a waste:)

This "sample" is of underprivileged voters uninformed about the finer points of policy. Presented with some negative stuff, they ascribe it to the candidates they are opposing. Most people in this country are uninformed, uneducated, and vague. You could interview a choice sample of FOX-loving teabaggers and get similar responses. The people in this video are smart enough to vote in their own best interests economically. Or would you prefer the Supreme Court had decided this election, too?

TheAwesome: my mother voted for Clinton in '92 because "he's nice looking". After 2 yrs of that term, she realized he was worthless. Many voters went for O solely because "he isn't Bush". I've seen some interviews w/ voters in '08 that didn't even know Bush was not running. It's scary.
