  • I think I'm Henry Miller reincarnated. I haven't worked or paid taxes for over two years. But everyday I get my meal, every night I get my sleep, and every week I get my fuck. So far, these are the best days of my life.

  • i had lunch at the nepenthe place. loved the birds who steal fries off the tables

  • One of the greatest thinkers of the 20 th century. One of a kind.

  • sexus was biblical it stands as one of the greatest books ever

  • We were just there. What a great place to visit! Great views!

  • hi, is there somebody who can write what miller says? it's difficult to understand, i'm an italian girl. thanks

  • In a nutshell, he's recalling how he got to the Big Sur (California), how he first stayed with a friend of his, Linda, before she'd found him a cabin in the woods...then how he had to fend for himself, like a country boy...going up and down the hill to pick up the mail every day etc ; something along those lines...

  • read his book, Big Sur and the Oranges of Hieronymus Bosch, I bet there is an Italian translation available.

  • henry's words were one of the best things in Warren Beattys 'Reds' film ..I don't think he was a saint or a psychopath though..a great writer, one of the best. Great accent too, brooklynese mainly?

  • I have read all Henry Miller has ever published. I return to him again and again--- A true brother of Dostoievsky-- a joyful combination of saint and psychopath. Thanks for the vid.

  • I agree. Bukowski's OK but nothing compared to Miller.

Miller is always an intelligent and refreshing read.

I decided to start Sexus again the other day and without

even realizing it I had read over 50 pages. He has

been a great inspiration to me. "I have no money, no resources, no hopes. I am the happiest man alive."

  • i used to live by "no money,no resources etc when i lived in new york.i thought i was miller for over a year-best year of my life.

  • you cannot live WITHOUT any money....what you mean is, you lived by OTHER PEOPLE's MONEY you cheat.

  • @12345obama you clearly dont understand miller..read the tropics.

  • bukowski, sometimes he can come up with something thats insightful but most of the time its racetrack, pussy, and wine

  • et geni!

  • Miller is the real deal. Chuck Buck is human litter.

  • Ah ... sometimes I think Dave and I are the only Miller fans in the world, and then I read of the effect he has had on others and I suddenly have hope for the world. Miller gives us hope in the most unlikely of ways.

  • Even whilst reading his books, or in the midst of a dreary or gorgeous landscape, one only needs a breath of solitude to realize it is only but loneliness one is feeling, and this feeling alone gives truth to the fact that we are not alone.

  • There's a handful of us in all sorts of places ;-

  • Out of all the books I've read-Henry Miller's are the life changing ones. I love it when he went off on those tangents. Sexus was my favorite.

  • In 1960 HENRY (he deserves CAPS) was published Tropic cancer and capricorn..im 19 i go to Paris .where is this world he speaks of ..notknowing it was written 30 years before and just allowed to be published.....had a good time spent 7 years ..in 1970 ws in Big Sur..went to post office asking for Mr.Miller (i know ..i know ) no name.there..anyway the guy has influence me all my life...still love to read his works...real stuff...Charles Bukowsky owes him a debt.....

  • I agree with you, Bukowski owes HENRY MILLER a debt. Bukowski can't touch MILLER.

  • hi im reading henry miller

    capricorn of cancer very good

i was suprised we dreamed same i wish to go france and see paric check my page too may be we have common sense

  • I love Miller's work so much. Makes me feel sad that there seems to only be a few vids with him on it. Never really got the acclaim that he deserved. Ah well, we'll always have his lit..

  • In high school in NH 1963 I was allowed to do a paper on H. Miller, had to get permission from my principal, and I bought the "Tropics" from a guy at the bus station who sold them under the counter literally. He looked around, then pulled them out. They came from a publisher in Paris, I believe, then I borrowed records of him from my teacher which had to be done in the 50's. He was a striking author.

  • Es un genio.

  • This and the few bits he did for "Reds" are the only times i have had the honor of hearing the Master speak. I still can't get my head around that accent! No one, and i mean NO ONE, comes close to Miller.

  • Thanks be to Youtube. After seeing and hearing so many things, i have to just say thanks. Not to Google, there is too much thanks surrounding Google.

  • Love him, too!

  • i love him...

  • I like Henry Miller quite alot, he is a good poetic writer.

  • I've been reading this guy for nearly ten years, and this is the first time I ever *heard* his voice. Damn, that's nice.

  • ditto
