  • You spelled "Grandfather's" as "grandFARTERs" in the description.

  • DROP DEAD GORGEOUS!!!! NUFF SAID

  • Sharp ass car!

  • impalas are great,as long as you keep em away from the spics(i hate lowriders)

  • stunning

  • I remember a '64 SS with bench seat and 4 speed.

  • the first chev to wear the ss badge

  • go to waltera68 a rel one. thks

  • The Impala's had small engines yet big balls!! Nice car.

  • you write my grand FARTers xD

  • B E A U T I F U L !

  • The unappreciated Impala! Most people do not even acknowledge the 61, though along with the 62 , i think they are the best looking and the coolest! Take care of that rare one!!!!!

  • Chevrolet should have called them Ultra Sport instead of Super Sport...

  • hi in 61 the impala was actually not super sport at all it was refered to as super stock but still was an ss and a dealer option only they never came from the factory as SS,s

  • go to waltera68

  • OUCH, that thing is BAD!.. and an SS to boot. REAL NICE.

In RENO one time at Hot August Nights a man had a 61 ss 409 convertible... GREAT CAR !!!!!!!!!!!

  • I've never seen a "SS" with a bench seat in the front, there normally bucket seats with a console in the middle. I could be wrong and it would'nt be the first time in my life.

  • in 1961 the ss had a bench because they were introduced very late in 61 with only 452 being produced the buckets didnt come out untill 62

  • @camaroboy1968ss You are right.....I had one back in the early '80s. It was a "348" with 3 speed on the column!! Weird combo, but you could order them any way you wanted back then. The early '61 had the 348 while the later ones had the new 409.

  • 61, SS or not- was bench seat onlynot untill 62 and that still dont mean they ahd to be bucket seat SS.s came in very different packages most people dont or wont believe a SS would have a bench seat ,sad but true

  • Indeed. You could have a 409-4spd bench seat Impala SS ordered - and you could also have a 3-on-the-tree 6 cylinder SS as well, at least up until 1963. "SS" was just a Super Sport package. Beleive me - there were plenty made with bench seats!

  • @kingtut70546 in 61 they didnt have bucket seats,62 was the first yr for this option.in 61 and SS was not just a trim option,it was suposed to be a hi-perf option and later it was more of a trim option.the only made 453 SS in 61, 311 were 348 cars and 142 409 enigined cars were biult.but this doesnt mean that all they biult 142 409 engines, there were many more engines than that.there only a few things that really tell wether it is a real SS CAR.this is probably not a real deal.

  • OH! KOOOOL! Gran-pa!!

    Have a nice CRUZIN' !

  • that is tight speechless gawd what a nice ride

  • that is one nice fucking ride i would give my left nut to own a ride so sweet ,,, thanx for posting even though i couldnt stop drolling over it

  • WOW! Super Nice. I sold my 61 about a year ago. It's on youtube now "Franks 61 Bel Air..." that was mine.
