The record has another version of this song, one namely where at the end the musicians breaks into a loud, furious, guitar/bass/drums riff accompanied by Beth screaming at the top of her voice, in a way that would put many a hard core rocker to shame. Anybody know whether there is footage of that version out there, and better still, be inclined to post it?

That version was recorded at Warfield, San Fransisco and is on the Roseland CD.

Thanks for this; it explains why the video version is different form the one on the CD. I'm enclined to think that version does the song more justice than the subdued roseland/studio tracks, IMHO, anyway.
