this movie sucked, not just from the view of a fan of the show, but as a well put together movie with good acting, visual effects, and especially a good storyline that people can keep up with. this movie failed in all of those categories as well as screwing over the awesomeness of the anime.
Also, If the opening was supposed to be the same as in the show, why didn't they just make a live-action version of the ENTIRE opening, instead of following this scene with a wall of text?!
In the 30 second TV spots, there was a ton of footage that looked reminiscent of the opening. There's the shots of the firebenders bending,the fire rocks launched , then Roku for a split second. Then there was the holding the lights scene with Sokkatara and the whole tribe filmed exactly like the show.
Then the Japanese trailer had the Map scene where the element kanji moved...
Believe me , they probably had the entire intro done.

There was an alternate ending where Ozai set dried grass fields on fire slowly which is the exact ending of the novel. Going by that and the manga, the film might have been half decent, but still had a pitfall of plot holes, especially how the Kyoshi warriors stop abruptly before the NWT.
While he said it made no sense they stopped and didn't help further, there was lost opportunity to have a love triangle between Sokka, Yue and Suki and a last stand between the Warriors and the FN soldiers after the moon was destroyed. They axed Katara's development while the repeat of Zuko's banishment's mention and Ozhao scenes cut into the character development of the leads. To no surprise, they're hollow and it sucks. Choreo made it the worst martial arts film ever.
the movie's fire sequence looks hell'a awesome actually.. air is okay.. water looks horrid, as for earth's dust?? kinda lets you know what to expect from them later on...
@25Renita25 It's probably to show it's there or something. In the cartoon they showed air by putting blue swirls in it, can't do that in real life, so maybe sparkles are the best thing..?
