  • It comes in either a one or two piece solid mahogany back

  • Nice demo.Could you please mention the neck profile. You can determine by comparing it with rounded 59' profile comes on studios and early 50's profile on historic series like R7.

    Thanks

  • Dear Mark

Would this guitar be similar to an older Les Paul Standard?....Say a 1989 Standard with 57" pups?

  • it's good, but somehow when i heard the Gibson Les Paul Studio '60s Tribute demo, my heart is melted... its got a twangky strat like, but with dark and warm les paul sound... it was amazing...

  • Are these two piece backs?

  • Next paycheck can't come faster!!!!!!!!!

  • For those who wonder, this guitar is not chambered but it does still have weight relief holes.

  • Those 57 classics are lush pickups! Great for all sorts of rock.

  • I prefer the sound of Burstbucker Pro's over 57 Classics. The Standard '08, sounds great right out of the box. If I ever bought a Traditional, I'd have to get rid of the 57's and put some BB's in there. Or maybe a Duncan JB/Jazz set.

  • what a beautiful guitar

  • This guy is a genious...you could give him a chinese stratocaster and I'm sure that he will get a great sound out of it

  • @lafleur887 You got that right....He sits in the store and jams for a little while and it is amazing the sounds he gets out of less expensive gear. You would think he was playing through a $3000.00 amp and a Suhr guitar!

  • can you remove the pickguard? and does it still sounds good if I replace the Pick-ups with seymour ducan's?

  • @21aap Yes you could remove the pickguard. Seymour duncans would change the sound so you would be able to pick what pickup would be best for your playing style.

  • The guy looks like Vin Diesel......

  • 2 questions:

    1. I dont know the diference between carved top and figured top.

    2. I like to play some crunch rock kinda ac/dc aerosmith/ kinda tone so would you recoomend a standard or traditional?

  • @DFMerlino The Standard and the Traditional LP are both carved top which means the carve the wood from the center to the edges of the body. The Figured top means the use either a Flame maple or a Quilted maple top which has a nicer grain in the wood. I would go with the Traditional LP.

  • @NstuffMusic ok thanks a lot!

  • sounds the same as the other les pauls ha ha ha

  • Ross Kemp!!!

  • Could someone tell me what makes these guitars more that £3000, Like is it the build quality, how long it lasts, special features etc. Cheers :)

  • @121drummerboy Hi, This guitar feels good, awesome feel to the neck. Crazy long sustain! Very clean. Or very nice sweet overdrive. Or very dirty distortion. Whatever you like, it does it. Also have a es137 which has went up in price from $1600 to $2049 in 4 years. I don't know yet how this one will do. I wanted the 490r/498t pups like the es137 but the 57 classics are just as good. I have had this LP for 2 days. I would not trade her for anything. best wishes...

  • Hey Marc, how do you rate the Traditional plus?

  • @LesterPaul01 Well if you like figured tops than the plus would be the way to go. But the regular traditional sings great!!!

  • @LesterPaul01 Both have carved tops, but the regular Traditional has a AA maple cap. Go with the Trad. Plus if you want coil-tapping and locking tuners. I guess some people want the heavier body and beefy neck but with additional features like coil-tapping and locking tuners...however that doesn't strike me as being as "traditional" so far as Les Pauls are concerned.

  • @mtmusicgear Didn't you mean to say the Trad. PRO. If you want coil tapping and locking tuners. I own a Trad plus. And it has 57' classic, classic plus and no coiling tapping. Rock on.

  • Does Mark wear glasses? There's always that pair on the Deville so...

Maybe he's like me and cannot play with his glasses on!

It always catches me off guard when he doesn't wear his scarfs (spelling?) like in this video, I'm so used to him wearing one!

Yeah I know, pay attention to the guitars right?

Are left-handed guitars any more expensive than normal ones? I'd hate for that to be the case, I was planning on getting a new Les Paul but I'm a lefty so....

  • @TheEternalLeader We have a left handed LP Studio in Wine Red in stock $1169.99

  • @NstuffMusic Oh, wow, that's actually a lot less than what they are at the Guitar Centers around here.... I might have to think about getting one from you guys! Thanks!

  • is the gibson lp traditional suited for hardrock and somekinds of metal?

  • @21aap Heck Yeah!!

  • The last pickup you played is the bridge pickup, and you say the neck pickup? or im wrong?

  • @will30x When the switch is pointed towards your/his face, it's in the "Neck" or "Rhythm" if you're Gibson @.@, position and if it is pointed facing towards your leg it is in the "Bridge" or "Treble" position. Then if it's facing straight out then it's both pickups and in the "Middle" position

  • Hey mate, those tuners are actually Tone pros 'TPKB3' just sayin

  • That guitar is so fucking hot.

  • Comment removed

  • brilliant playing dude

  • @snowfosho2 The traditional is supposed to be like a modern version of a '59 with a slim neck. If you want vintage sounding go with this

  • Which would you prefer for a more hard bluesy, classic rock sound : the '58 reissue LP, the Traditional LP, or the Traditional Plus?

  • @vanzeposmith910 The 58 Reissue is by far the nicest. $2999.99 at nstuff call 412-828-1003 or email ask for jason not on website.

  • pretty flat with a little more Bass..the the presence is up a little past half too....hope this helps!

  • Can you please be so kind to tell me your EQ setting on your amp? I have the same amp & guitar, and I love your tone. Thank you so much~~~

  • Iam 500 $ away from that guitar:))!!!

  • @TheABLTZ Let us know when your ready and we will get you a good deal nstuffmusic

  • @TheABLTZ

    Wuhhuu :)

Tell us when you have the Les Paul! :)

  • Whoever wants to know how a guitar should behave should play this guitar.

  • the clean tone is fantastic, super clear, good thickness, CLEAN! any chance posting your amp settings?

  • hope you don't mind if I ask you but... I'm just wondering... Is the Les Paul traditional that you're playing by any lucky chance good for playing jazz as well?

I know perfectly well that a 335 style is more suitable, but I happen to be quite keen on the LP traditional in particular. I usually play blues where, I understand, a Les Paul should be more than "at home" but from time to time I find myself wondering around in the jazz zone...

    Thank's for your time

  • @gian20072007 Throw that neck pickup on and there ya go! In my opinion if you like the way a guitar plays and you are comfortable with it, then go for it, in a worst case scenario maybe change a pickup out.

  • @NstuffMusic Thanks awfully!

  • @NstuffMusic Thanks awfully

  • @gian20072007 you can play jazz really on any guitar you just have to know how to use tone knobs and your amp

  • @TheThepurplebird I agree with you entirely but I believe that I'm not that wrong if I say that some guitars are more suitable than others for jazz. For instance I definitely won't recommend a solid body with active pick ups like it may be the les paul Zack Wylde. Am I wrong?

  • @gian20072007 no of course ignoring any of the those ugly metal guitars you can use any "classy looking" guitar cause they will have decent pickups

  • @TheThepurplebird Anyway I have to admit that even if my "morbid guitar dream" is a Gibson Super 400 CES and I really don't have the gift to understand nowadays metal, I find quite interesting the flying SGV Wylde (or whatever the name is, I mean the Flying v with the upper body of the SG)

  • @gian20072007 beutiful instrument, i only play semi/hollow guitars because i just prefer them to solidbodies, the black es 355 with bigsby is not worth 4k but its beautiful and im savin for it

  • @TheThepurplebird Have you ever considered the Heritage equivalent for the Gibson 335? I understand that they make quite good instruments and they are just a little less expensive than the Gibson.

  • @TheThepurplebird ya they are great instruments but they just dont sell really well when you want to get rid of it

  • @gian20072007

    watch?v=rAoY7uTDxhA

This was played on a solidbody Les Paul Custom--the Traditional is a solidbody (Modern Les Paul Standards are Chambered) so I really think it just comes down to what kind of amp/sound distortion devices you are using.

  • I heard that some 08' Trads received a one piece back. Is that true?? great playing, great guitar.

  • @LesterPaul01 mine is a 2011 and got one piece mahogany back, weighs 9.3lbs and I LOVE it!!!

  • A traditional is better than a standard?

  • @pacokja yes

  • @astrophysics123 thanks

  • It is a Sennheiser 906. $189.00 at Nstuff music.

  • Please Tell me which mic you use to record ? it's SENNHEISER ?

  • Small distinction...however this is a "Traditional Plus" in Desert Burst. Not trying to flame or be a dick.

  • How much for that guitar?

  • @scorpionguitar $2099.99 with case and free shipping if your not out of the country call 412-828-1003

  • hi mark what do you recommend better? this one or 2008 standard? thanks

  • @MrDvirHamadbir i prefer the standard model---it's lighter and resonates almost like a 335---thanks!!!!!!

  • I have a Les Paul Traditional desert Burst (same as in the video) and i absolutely Love Love Love it :D I've only had it for a few weeks but I'm still in love :) PS. I'm only 14 so i enjoy playing new music but the classics on this guitar sound amazing.

  • That was clean.

  • Gibson guitar on a fender amp? this isnt a starburst comercial lol

  • tried this out at a local guitar shop, came home with a 2500 dollar guitar :P

  • Hey Mark, I get the vibe that you don't dig the Traditional that much. If this is true, please tell me why???

  • Maybe getting this. I play a lot of hard rock, metal, classic rock and all the modern stuff. Would this guitar suit me and how are the pickups?

  • @GuitardedDude88 A Gibson Les Paul Traditional is a timeless classic you can play any style of music. Thempickups are very versatile because the are not real hot so you can control them.

  • Hows the weight on that guitar?

  • @guitargenious101 It's not sound chambered like the standard so it has some weight typical Les Paul.

  • I took a Traditional and an 08' Standard off the wall here at the shop to the shipping room scale.

    Traditional 9.6 lbs

    08' Standard 8.2 lbs

  • I would like to have the standard 08, because the weight is not so heavy. But to be honest, in the both videos, the traditonal sounds better to me, fatter and more the sound I expect from a gibson les paul,

So how big is the weight difference?

  • All of your videos have this classy elegant vibe going. I love watching them - they're a very refreshing change.

  • how do I get that exact guitar with a slim taper 60s neck..?

  • hi, in terms of sound and quality performance, this guitar its bether than a LP standard? im gona buy one of these two and im just cant decide it by myself ^^ so i prefer to ask to someone who has played them yet, thanks for your response, and sorry if my english its mesed up jehjeh

  • @Silverius009 I like the LP Traditional it's more like the old school Les Paul's.

  • @Silverius009 Man, you have to go to a guitar ctr or the like, and play them for your self. The 08' standard has bb pro pickups, they have stronger mags than the Trad. I prefer and own the trad because I play blues and classic rock. The 57' classics are smoother sounding pups. And I like the heavy weight of the trad. When I open up my twin, and with a good od pedal, it's tonal bliss. The louder or softer you play it' keeps it's rick tone. The standard has great tone too. I like vintage tone

  • Is that a sticker on the bridge pickup?

  • @guitargenious101 Yes, it's a sticker that say's the guitar is Pleked.

  • Can you do guitar demos with a different amp every once in a while? This much compression bugs me... :/ Great demos though.

  • what is the difference between a 'Gibson Les Paul Traditional' and a 'Gibson Les Paul Standard'? thank you

  • @PinchPotPeterPan The Traditional is more like a old school Les Paul. The Standard has updated locking tuners and they sound chamber the body to make it lighter. Any questions let us know. Thanks, NSTUFFMUISIC.

  • Guyssss I need help. I'm contemplating between the standard and the traditional please help

  • looks like he keeps reaching for the whammy - looks like a strat purist!! Nuthin wrong wid dat, just saying, great playing btw love it!

  • Mark.... here's why mark is one of Pittsburgh's best guitarists.

Greetings from your old Pal Bugsy in Tampa Bay.

  • Nice work Mark. I always enjoy ur videos

  • does this guitar have any push/pull pots?

  • @TehSxeNerd No push-pull pots.

  • good lord, i'm getting me one! wonderfull sound! Can you tell me what settings you are using on the amp?

  • would it be possible to install a coil-tap on this?

  • @MrManson94 No, You would have to install 4 conductor pickups so you can split the coils. Gibson makes the Burstbucker in 4-conductor but it does not come stock on the guitars.

  • Fuuuuuck I want that guitar! Nice review btw.

  • This is how a real Les Paul should sound!

  • FINALLY... a legit Les Paul Traditional Demo video where you can hear what the guitar can really do

  • This sounds awsome to me.... like a LP should sound! I'm now wondered would the Earvana nut system if fitted on a Gibson take away their trade mark sound...

  • @Guitarman55555 I do not think it would take away from the sound.

  • very good!

  • i'll let u all in on a secret, the Godin Exit 22 sounds almost exactly like this and is ONLY $499.00 and it's Made in Canada :)

  • @MarijuanaGood4U

    it looks the price.

  • @MarijuanaGood4U .........NO.

  • Finally . A decent Traditional Les Paul ; Not a fancy Custom Shop one. Great Demo , live your work.

  • Out of all the demo artists I have seen and heard on YouTube, this guy is the absolute best. Pleasure listening to and watching him.

  • I bought a Traditional Plus about a year & a half ago. The first one kept going out of tune all the time. I sent it back to Gibson and they kept it 4 weeks. Finally their techs said the neck was warped and they sent me another one right away. This one is perfect. Their stuff isn't made like the old days. I was just playing in my bedroom and went to adjust one of the volume knobs and it cracked off :-( Cheap plastic. Made a call to Gibson and they sent me Four knobs in about 2 weeks. Heavy axe

  • @hawg427 thnx for sharing!

  • @hawg427 I just got one of these on ebay, and it has tuning problems also. The neck isn't warped either. I think they are using Corian for the nut (why??), and I hear my strings "chink" as they bind at the nut. I guess I'll have a graphite nut installed on it or something, it's not of much use going out of tune every couple of songs. Makes me mad though, because I cut my teeth on a Les Paul back in the day; they're sure not the same quality. Gibson should be ashamed of themselves

  • @Sweeper5 I guess with ebay it's hit or miss. I bought my TRad of ebay from a lady and she lied about how many dings the guitar had but it turned out to be a gem. It has the extra light brown fretboard, with I love. and I saved well over a grand. Rock on

  • @LesterPaul01 Yes, you are right about ebay. I really love the guitar though...it's in immaculate shape and it sounds like a LP should. I've lubed up the nut so it's better. But still, I have to have teflon or graphite one installed to really fix it. I'll do that though, it'll cost me about $80, so that's alright. Will be worth it to make this annoying tuning issue vanish. No other problems with it though...pretty great LP. Mine's a goldtop. mmm!

  • @hawg427 Where did you buy it from? I got mine off of ebay used and it's a gem. The lady I bought it from lied about how many digs it had, but the mechanics are spot on. Saved a ton of doe. I will say the lp standard is a sweet. Most players don't like the chambered body. It kinda has the tone of a 339. I want my LP to sound like a LP. Heavy and fat.
