@jonmoscone One of the BEST Tony broadcast....Blood Brothers, The Who's Tommy, Kiss of the Spider Woman, and The GoodBye Girl.......this is how to do it!
I was lucky enough to see Stephanie Lawrence in this in the West End in the mid 90s - she was absolutely phenomenal and the whole cast were utterly fantastic.
I saw this in 94 I believe on Bway with the Cassidy Bros and Petula Clark. Marvelous! Very depressing, though! The only character that was annoying for me was the incessant narrator dude popping up everywhere!
I had the absolutely wonderful pleasure of seeing Helen Ready in this show on Broadway. She was amazing and made me weep like a small child. One of the most powerful shows I've ever seen.
Hate to break it to you, but this show has been closed for over 10 years. I'd guess it closed because it's not what you would call a crowd pleaser. It's darker than most audiences like there musicals to be.
ya I know i've been told! THAT SUCKS! my high school did this show a couple of weeks ago and I thought it was brilliant. it's dark but I dont think its too dark!
Ah its Stephanie Lawrence RIP

Mickey and Eddie doubles? They can't be on the floor and standing/singing at the same time.
