  • that is horrible :(

  • Esta criança deve sofrer de asma bronquica ou Bronquite alérgica... repare que os pais colocaram vários travesseiros para melhorar o fluxo de ar como consequencia da ortopnéia. Os ruidos são chamados de roncos e sibilos.

  • I had this shit all the time when I was a little kid. The sound brings back nightmares

  • I'm a med student and this is very helpful. Thank you for putting something so personal on here. I personally appreciate it. I'm also a father and I commend you on your efforts to care for your son. I hope everything turns out okay for you, your family, and especially your precious boy.

  • Check out Nap Nanny

  • I recently read on Love for Malacia Babies support group on FaceBook about a lung issue that can happen form reoccurring upper respiratory infections. I forget what the condition is called but it is very serious and only partial removal of the lung can help. It scared me since my son has had over 30 URIs. See a pulm spec asap talk about Atrovent via nebulizer. Ask about tonsil adenoid removal surgery -it helped my son a lot. My son has not had Aortopexy as of yet. But we do consider it.

  • Boston's Children Hospital is the leader in the country for the scary surgery you speak of. It's called an Aortopexy. A MRI needs to been done too to rule out vascular abnormalities which sometime go hand in hand with malacia. Such as Double Aortic Arch, Vascular Ring or Innominate Artery Compression -like my son. His wasn't discovered until he was 10! Does your son have Failure to Thrive too? He looks very thin -my son had FTT -eating issues and malacia also are common.

  • Hello, has your child seen an ENT or Pulmonary Specialist? Has he had a sedated bronchoscope, a flexible and a rigid you need both one to rule out Tracheomalacia (TM) he other to rule out Bronchomalacia (BM) or both Tracheobronchomalacia (TBM). Atrovent via nebulizer helps keep the airway open. Other breathing medication although great for asthma may contain muscle relaxers which can make malacia worse.

  • my baby sounds just like that and he is one.

  • @morning25 If this is still the case, I urge you to take him to a medical professional, as this is a sign of respiratory distress and it could be serious. I Hope all is well with your little one.

  • @cptorangutang2 thanks for your concern. He has been seeing doctors for years. The surgery options we were given an few years back at children's cincinatti all had severe consequences. We opted to stay awake at night and reposition him whenever his stridor starts. It is tiring, but I am aware of the long term side effects on heart and lungs, so it is worth it to me to flip him. We have been hoping his airway would grow enough to compensate.

  • @morning25 Has he seen anybody for this????? Take videos and show them to his doctors.

  • I hope the little guy is doing ok?

  • @Mayhog9 Still batteling. It is a little better in the sense that his airway has gotten bigger and I think it is compensating for the glossoptosis and arytenoid prolapse. But he is now having stridor at times when lying on his stomach. ENT said it is the arytenoids causing stridor while in prone position. We will be going to ENT subspecialist in Jan 2012.

  • I have a video posted on my wall about a year ago, my son has sleep apnea and throat obstruction...he sleeps and wakes up every 5 mins, coughs and chokes, intake of air is so minimal. He was already operated a month after I posted the video. He's now sleeping normally and no more waking up gagging and choking for air.

  • I sent the two comments below about my son having TBM. Apparently I wrote the comment while one of the kids was signed into yahoo so it didn't come up under my account. I hope and pray that your son is doing better.

My son, Hunter has Tracheobronchomalacia. There are support groups on Facebook Living with Tracheobronchomalacia, We Hate Tracheobronchomalacia, Love for MalaciaBabies and Coping with Laryngomalacia. I hope you join us -Colleen

  • @3in38months what surgery did your son have?

  • thank you for posting these videos, text books are totally different form real life.

  • Pmelli525 There are a few support groups on Facebook called "Love for Malacia Babies" "Coping with Larygomalacia" "We Hate Tracheobronchomalacia" and "Living with Tracheobronchomalacia". What medication is he on? I have found great results with Atrovent via nebulizer as needed. Join us on Facebook -Colleen

  • @TheBrycemister thank you

  • He has had many tests and does have tracheolaryngomalacia, arytenoid cartilage prolapse, stridor worse in upright position.

  • Poor kid makes u wish what if u could switch placeses with him and let the kid lead A normal life while u suffer most parents think that when there kids get very ill they think of swithing placeses with them this is called sacrifice. P.S.Bless u little boy get well soon.

  • My son is 13 he has Tracheobronchomalacia with Innominate Artery Compression. He sounds like this whenever he is sick. There is Laryngomalacia, Tracheomalacia or Bronchomalacia. Or a combination of two or all three. Has this child had a bronchoscope to rule out malacia? This child is also having retraction along with his stridor. Plus this child needs to be evaluate for Failure to Thrive (commone with malacia) -not a dr just a mom dealing with this for 13 years. -Colleen

  • @babyboy1180 Believe it or not, the doctor in my town did not listen to me 7 years ago when I started saying something was wrong. I actually started making videos because I could not get any help. I am a nurse and a mom, so I knew something was wrong. I fired that doctor and found a wonderful group of doctors since then that do listen. It is hard to keep weight on my son. How do you cope with the worries of what all of this is doint to your child's heart and lungs?

  • Is It LTB Or Croup?

    Or An Inflamed Epiglottis?

  • @unkostan arytenoid cartilage prolapse, glossoptosis, LT malacia

  • @Jaxxon10. Stridor is the sound you are hearing when the kid is breathing in. It is an indication of swelling of the larynx or an upper airway obstruction.

  • what is stridor?

  • 似乎是在吸氣會出聲

  • @arbor118 I can't read this.... Not sure how to translate.... sorry

  • real helpfull for my class

  • @roshmn great. hope your class went well. studying for what????

  • Showing signs of croup. Stridor with inhalation, seal bark cough, and accessory muscle use. Great education, will share with my EMT class

  • @afrcdude605 laryngomalacia..

  • @afrcdude605 i concur...seems like LTB

  • @afrcdude605 NOT seal bark, NOT croup but definitely accessory muscle use. This is a good one to show why not to put kids with arytenoid cartilage prolapse in upright position if this is the position they obstruct in. Thanks! Glad you found this helpful.

  • He is not snoring. It is stridor. But his stridor gets worse in upright position because of arytenoid cartilage prolapse.

  • @pmelli525 what's the difference in stridor. It sounds just like snoring to me. strange!

  • is he snoring ?

  • its caused by foreign bodies on the larynx.

  • @localboy2010 not just foreign bodies.... my child does not have a foreign body in this video. he is obstructing because of arytenoid cartilage prolapse and they also criss cross.

  • did you check with an ENT consultant ...!!!
