I had the great privilege of studying music at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville in the late 70's when Ruth was artist-in-residence. I have heard her play live so many times. Amazing. And though I'm not a pianist (woodwinds), if she wasn't teaching she'd pop out of her office and roam the hallways talking to everyone. It is a great honor in my life to say that I've had the honor of talking about music with her.

I have the great pleasure of participating in a master class with Ms.Slenczynska at East Carolina Univeristy in Greenville North Carolina in 1972 (?) She focused on the Chopin Etudes and I still have all my notes. She was wonderful and made everyone feel so relaxed. It is a time I will always remember. I was actually on the same state with her, what a treat!

thanks .I've alwanted to hear this paragon who is stil with us. she was granted special acces to all greats way back .the playing has many virtues a fine clean technique and REALLY musical decisions . So wonderful to see this.
