alot of money cost this pc in 94! was my wish to have a 486dx4 and i go to play on pc at the police office at my uncle work there! at home i have 286 and a HC91 . I jump from 286 to 266mhz AMD 4mb video 32 ram 800$ cost me (sorry for bad english)
Brings tears to my eyes, oh the good old days! Fucking tie fighter is the best game by far. I think i jizzed a bit when i saw that game. Gotta install it immediately on dosbox or something. Have you tried overclocking this bad boy? MoBo should have jumpers to change clock settings :) Or does it have the the "turbo" button that inda overclocks it automatically?
"Lol my dad told me how in 1989 he had a computer like this." ..holy shit that comment makes me feel old.
This was my first DOS/Windows PC. I think it was back in 1993 or 94' I really can't remember. I was an Commodore freak up to that point, but VGA, amongst other things, took the better of me. Still love the Commodore computers though.. Elegant little machines. :)
32MB RAM is alot for this machine! Only pro's had enough reason to install that much ram to a machine that small (DX2-66). Back then 8 was alot and 16 already 'wow'.
@indyTunes I had 64 meg of ram, I "acquired" it and I used to leave memory check on just too piss off my friends, nobody I know had ever SEEN 64 meg ram!
OMG. My primary school back in the 90's has exactly the same computers as the one you've got. They had hundreds of them. They had Windows 3.1 and MS DOS on them. Such memories.
I've been looking for that computer case type for more than a decade now. Could you please see if you can find the name of the computer case manufacturer? I come from Norway and had a similar system in the exact same case. The brand was TCI Computer.
I had a 486 DX2 33mhz with the Sound Blaster Pro had the first 16bit sound. I think the video card was a diamond. 2x CDROM. I upgrade the memory from 4 to 16mb and the hard drive from 40mb to 420. I played Descent. When I got Descent 2, I had the S3 card with a 100mhz processor. Honestly, I think the coolest piece of hardware for me was the Monster3D expansion card with the pass through cable. I ran that card on three different cpu/board upgrades, 166mhz, 300mhz and 450mhz. Rock solid and Fast

Awesome 486 rig there, you really should complement it [providing the motherboard allows] by replacing the DX2 with an AM5x86-133Mhz 486 CPU. :)

Yes. At 0.0000001fps. With QEMU or something and a big hard drive.
