  • I love your video! Perfect music to go with it too! haha

  • Why would anyone dislike this video?

  • Have a karelian bear dog 2 years old. We are in alberta and only know three others in alberta. Are good friend brian is a conservation officer in canmore and owns two for bear control in campgrounds and the other one is brett wilson of calgary. The millionaire who is on the show dragons den. Awsome dogs we take dakota backcountry fishing all the time he has chased three bears already from our campsites. Your sled is it homemade?

  • @darrenpaint The sled is handmade but not homemade it is from Mountain Boy Sledworks

  • Hee! Hee! They're definitely not sledge-mutts by nature, that's for sure.

  • That looks like a blast had my 7 month KBD Sasha pull me on my bike was great fun until she saw a rabbit man that knee took a long time to heel .

She is 1 year now and knows a lot more commands maybe try the bike again.

Left up to Sasha though hunting all the way she kills more varmin than my two cats :-)

  • arent these dogs rare in the U.S?

  • We are actually in Canada but yes, purebred Karelians are very rare in North America

  • ahh well hes one dashing Bear Dog i love this Breed but never seen one in person the remind me of my mals in a way

which province you guys in? mines obvous enough : )

  • @katigraw I have 2 and my friend has 4 XD

  • @katigraw yeah it took me ages to find my girl and i still had to import her (minus her papers) from finnland.

her given name was Vahva but i couldn't say it clearly so we call her missie. oh but question. i've heard that depending on the climate they are raised in depends on their coat (i know its that way for most horses) but i was wondering if that is true. Missie's coat is thin compared to the breed standard. and was the reason it was hard to get her registered. (after loads of blood work)

  • im doing research on kicksleds and malamutes for when my guy turns to a 1yr old whats the leashing system callled a "springer"? that connects the harness to the kick

  • the part attached to the sled is the 'bridle' and then of course the 'tug line'

  • Great video and what fun! Anu is not only beautiful, she's awesome!

  • Somebody clearly has not got the technique quite down yet, but, after all, Karelians were bred for hunting rather than hauling.
