@jawatech when you take the controller ports outta the system, you see all the wires already in a plug thing (don't know the name of it) it looks like a small brown piece of plastic surrounding the wires and the whole assembly simply plugs into the system. (Pin connecter assembly I think)
That's a vintage idea you have here. However, the idea of swapping your controller wires and making them USB uniform allows the use of the same port and all that needs to change is the controllers plugin. You wouldn't have to have a multitude of connections to your PC just to plugin a single controller of a given type. This is perhaps why converting externally is the wiser route?
heh well i thought that's what this was gonna be when i clicked on it lol. i'd really like to do it this way because i dont wanna strip the old controllers if i dont have to. good stuff man
It works really well plus you can use whatever controller you want which is pretty cool. It was really easy to do. I'll try and put something together this week if i get a chance, I need to have it ready for Quakecon so it's good motivation. Thanks!
yeah next time im doing SNES. the only reason i didnt do it this time is because i didnt have the tool to take the SNES apart, and i had already made the custom Bay plate.
