  • If you pause at 1:26, Chris kind of looks like Paulie Walnuts' son.

  • Thats a huge fucking hype!

  • as a junkie for 2 decades i must say.....till today its not only the high that gets most needle users........ finding the right vein, watching the blood come out n mix up with the chemical ( personal weakness) and then the final process of sending it in.

    my hair is standing.

  • @TheJamesAgony How it seeps from your feet to your lungs to take your breath away, into your head, that heavenly pressure.... I know how you feel my friend. Glad we kicked it though.

  • @Kapo465 does it always make you puke? even if you stop taking it do you ever stop wanting it? i had a friend who smoked crack and he used to get so on edge when he hadnt done it

  • @BlunderCats Well Heroin isn't Crack, so i can't really compare those two. But yes, with H, when i used to do a sufficient amount it would make me throw up a few minutes after a shot. I watched many of my friends throw up after they've done it. But afterwards, you feel like a million, if not more. Honestly, i've been clean for 4 years, and i don't crave it anymore. I still always think what life would be like if i haven't quit. But enough is enough, 25 thousand dollars gone into the wind.

  • @Kapo465 you spent 25 thousand dollars on it? in what period of time? and i know but apart from cigarettes its the only real addiction ive come into contact with. how did you get into it?

  • @BlunderCats I'm really not going to write a book on a comment.. Shit happened. Dope was good, money went fast.. in a period of about 2 to 3 years. Friend sold me a 10 Dollar capsule and that's what started the storm. Trust me, if you're having a hard time with cigarettes, then you're a lifer on this shit. The withdrawal is just... no other way to describe it other than pure unadulterated hell.. Talk about bad.. Cigarettes are only mental, and not hard to drop. But this scene is good though..

  • @Kapo465 yeah this scene is spectacular, i really loved the sopranos and chris's character especially. you were hooked after the first try? bloody hell, best leave alone

  • @BlunderCats Not the first try, but possibly the 3rd or 4th, i was totally tuned in.

  • @Kapo465 intense, you scared youll go back?

  • @BlunderCats Nah, i highly doubt it. Eventhough, i do think about it. I do take Suboxone whenever i feel the need.

  • @Kapo465 i do coke with this scene, what do u guys think about cocaine and this scene

  • @tito18st Its fun for a bit. I usually used to drive around on it and listen to Ensiferum. Give it a try! My favorite music for being coked out.

  • @BlunderCats Everything Chris does in this scene is pretty much dead on. H is an amazing experience, but if you can control yourself.. which becomes quite hard. Next thing you're in the straight hood dead of night.. It makes you do crazy shit.. you turn into a whole different person.. a beast.

  • @Kapo465 Wait, did i misunderstand something or are you also in the struggle?

  • @Kapo465 fair enough, were you ever scared or nervous while you were doing it that you might be losing control? ive always thought addiction came from previous traumas, that only traumatised people turned to h for help

  • Beautiful scene, the song provides the perfect background as so often on the show. I like the way Chris seems to genuinely care for the go-to guy and he connects with him unlike anyone else. Great character.

  • How the fuck you gonna do H and tell someone else they need help smh

  • Fuck, this is intense...

  • OMG was Christopher using that guys USED needle>?

  • People make way too much out of the physical addiction that goes with heroin. Yes it is strong, and yes it sucks to go through withdrawals, but the mental part of the addiction is many, many times stronger then the physical part. In this scene chris is way past any physical dependence on opiates, but the addict part of him is still in completely in love with heroin. You never miss that feeling, and that is the REAL power of heroin.

  • Ahh I'd give everything to have some right now

  • What does he mean when he says those works that spike always wets my whistle or something like that

  • @NoDDinOuTMeLoDy it means no matter how much he tries to escape it, he loves the feeling of using heroin

  • @NoDDinOuTMeLoDy 'Works' is the name given to the paraphernalia (equipment) used to shoot up heroin. They consist of of a spoon, lighter, needle, belt etc. When he says that 'those works though, they whet my whistle', he's stating that when he sees Corky with all the tools to shoot up the heroin, that it tempts him immensely. I hope this answers your question ;)

  • I only tried heroin once. It's one helluva feeling. It makes you feel like you don't care about anything.

  • "Ya need to get your ass to narcotics annonymous or something" while HE'S Snorting a bag of heroin LOL

  • what is the song being played in the last part of this scene

  • @amxbell It's raining men.

  • @amxbell It's Fred Niel- The dolphins.

  • What was that thing Christopher was snorting?

  • @CoolChineseGuy

The same thing his friend was shooting; heroin.

  • i used to do heroin for a year and i loved it and i was only 20 years old but it fucked me up so bad i lost everything sold everything becamed a thief, and i could not stop using it thank god i quit, and never injected it i always snorted it ive been off heroin since august 13 2009 but still love to smoke weed

  • dilaudid

  • heroin is relaxation, confidence, and attitude nothing like it... why it is physically addictive and u should never do it

  • Why does everyone have to turn into James Lipton when talking about these scenes?

  • Best scene in any motion picture!

  • Hahaha i used to do like this 10 years ago - sitting in a car the whole weekends nights under a heroin and doing nothing. that was a time the heroin was everywhere and it was cheap like shit

  • This is played so well, is almost like the actors been there before its that good. Love this series so many characters are played just fantastically

  • this acting is great.

  • fukin amazing scene musics fits so well to it, lol its funny where he's all over the dog too

  • @Mrgyn yea that looks like a 20 gauge or something lol.

  • Those fuckin' works...wets my whistle that spike

  • 1:34 when i remember this scene i always think of that dudes face when he said that.kinda sad makes me think of the past

  • Incredible scene!

Watching someone else going into total bliss must be pure hell!

    If you're an addict.

  • @r01n3 i usually do coke alone watching this scene, my favorite scene of all the seasons episodes

  • Alright weird (my friend sent this as link to a 'coke' thing)...but I digress..I tired heroin with a rig less than a dozen times years back, 2x I almost died..1 time I found myself in an ambulance, the other my friend splashing cold water on my face in a bathtub in my boxers..at least 2 people I knew have died before they were in their late 20's and they came from well to do homes...other friends in rehab or on methadone, cut with fentanyl and you'll too to much and OD. IT AIN'T WORTH IT PERIOD.

  • Rock out with ur cock out!

  • This is sort of what made me want to try heroin, before I became an addict.

  • elaborate, dude...i want to try it

  • @Crueltool8 please dont ever try it, it is terrible, you will be very sick the first time, and its just very bad, please dont do it

  • eat a bunch of oxycodone and you'll get the picture. dabbling too much with any of that stuff and youll turn into a pathetic excuse of a human.

you can only use recreationaly for so long.

  • You can do too much, puke, and feel like shit. Do to little and not much effect. Get it just right and it's the best feeling in the world...warm,fuzzy,nothing else matters.

  • This scene really shows Chris naivety about life.

  • Poor, Crissy. On the dog again with the lights goin' out.

BTW, anyone know the name of the background music?

  • its dolphins by fred neil. also did everybodys talking...youtube it, its class

  • thanks, bro. captures the mood perfectly.

  • This scene definitely wets my whistle. Mmmmmm. I love tootin dope. Just a message to anybody that wants to try it. Dont do it unless you have alot of self control cause if you dont it can easily take over your life. It is great but just dont abuse it. Use it in moderation.

  • true lol

  • FFFFFFFFFFFF-

  • To be a recovering addict and watch this scene I must say that it is very well portrayed. Relapse is a very rough thing, and many addicts do relapse. Heroin is not only mentally addicting, but physically. In the end, it does kill him....even though Tony held his nose ;-)

  • snortin' is great at first but then..........

  • shooting is for junkies yo..

thats why i toot it. or smoke it with my herb

  • How wonderful chris's heroin expereince is shared with the viewer. I feel the euphoria of heroin by just watching them injecting, its like they are having an orgasmic experience with us enjoying. My hat goes off to the director.

  • get yourself a hookup

and who cares if it's illigal

  • Get of your computer, it's not hard at all to find heroin if you would actually bother looking.

  • depends on where you live

  • anyone know the song played towards the end of the scene?

  • Fred Neil, Dolphins

  • thanks

  • this scene affected me big time, and introduced me to Fred.top marks old bean!!!

  • The direction during minutes 3:17 through 3:49 is incredible. Watch Christopher's eyes, they never leave the needle until the moment of injection...then they quickly rise to watch and absorb the reaction of the drug...one he knows so well. Then the close up of the needle again...and the wonderfully genius retreat of the camera revealing to us, Christopher using again...absolutely incredible!

  • well put man, well put

  • very well put!

  • @LadybugT6 go easy on the crack

  • why is everyone tripping over the size of the spike? fuck it, just enjoy the scene and especially the song (FRED NEIL's THE DOLPHINS)

  • thats a monster rig haha kinda like the ones in Trainspotting.

  • I like the oversized 8 gauge needle they use. Anyone who has been around knows this would not be the best thing to use, or even that manageable

  • such a good scene...

the sopranos truley is the greatest show ever made..

so much symbolism in this scene..

the revolving rides, the stray dog, chris hugging the dog, the guy sweeping at the end...

  • @mmeasy123

if you like this, watch breaking bad. its my favorite show.

  • @shumbadumb I know all about Breaking Bad. Amazing show, but The Sopranos truley is a masterpiece.

  • @shumbadumb breaking bad is cool but meth doesnt have the luster that dope does

  • @shumbadumb Walter FUCKING White! Heisenberg Rules! Yeah, SCIENCE!

  • god i love that song, i like listening to it when i sit in my car at the top of the hill when i look at the beautiful stars and sky or whatever is to see that looks really pretty, sometimes i even cry to it cuz it reminds me of my father who passed away a few months ago :(

  • I love the thing it plays at 2:00 mark. Because chris is trying really hard not to do it.

  • Rock out with your cock out!!!

  • Yeah really, no one uses rigs that big, just the 1cc insulin syringes. He inserts at a bad angle, you would just go through the vein. This scene gives me a hard on, man I love heroin.

  • indeed

  • what season is this?

  • season 6 episode 9 or something.

    'The ride' it was called.

  • Kundun, I liked it!

  • who sing? and plinging the gita...

  • His name is Fred Neil. The song is called "The Dolphins." There's a video on YouTube. Just do a search and you'll find it.

  • it's symbolic of maintaining innocence and avoiding emotional/personal pain, whilst achieving bliss/nirvana.....

  • One of the best things about this scene is the irony of the juxtaposition of Christopher's dream of domestic life with sharing heroin with a mob hitman.

  • This scene is incredibly realistic. Trust me.

  • Except that they're using needles sized for a cow! He's got the nod down that's for sure.

  • Yeah, your right about the needle.

I was talking also about the whole "feeling" I guess you could call it. Its a dreamy comfortable type of drug experience. Plus the music is a good song for the scene.

  • donta agree, the needle looks a bit big for what we use in the uk,alos in other scenes you see them "Smoke" the smack-its done in 1 short burst-i'v never seen it done like that-we chase a line around a peice of foil for about 20 lines worth per bag-I have heard of a mate smack is smoked like that"short burst" in amsterdam

  • Never smoked it.

  • na mate no way-i'v been a user 4 10 years-never seen a needle that bog for that part pf the arm-when they smoke the gear in sopranos its always 1 big strong/long inhail-its nothing like that-trust me!

  • This is an advert for heroin use, looks like a good way to get out of it.

  • Brilliant actor, Brilliant scene.

Ha having the dog in it is perfect

  • Brilliant actor, Brilliant scene.

Ha having the dog in it is perfect

  • i wonder if chris gave that junkie his car cause of chris lying around outside

  • what do u mean mate?

  • yummy!

  • With the exception of Junior shooting Tony, this is the best scene in the entire 6a season.

  • Thanks Psychopomp33. I really do appreciate it... Because i remember when this episode first aired... i was humming the song to myself for the next three days. That means i had to keep rewinding my tivo to this scene to learn the words. Thanks again!

  • Can someone please tell me who does the song that starts around 3:30 in this video???? I would really appreciate it..

  • The song is called "The Dolphins", it's by Fred Neil. Jeff Buckley did a great cover version of the song, by the way. regards

  • DAMN that's a big syringe for a fix!! D:

then again, I'm used to the Insulin syringe.

  • you do realize that if a heavy addict goes cold turkey they have a high chance of dying during withdrawl?

  • Not by heroin withdrawal I'm sure but you can die of Alcohol & benzodiazepine withdrawal.

If you quit cold turkey that is.

  • they made it look like its all fun and good but in reality heroin is the most eFFed drug in the world. I see people kicking it everyday at work. Unbelivable what they would do for a fix.

  • I agree dude weed is the best... never push it further then that

  • weed is better and safer

  • Please dont make a joke of addiction, its very serious.... im in a constant battle in my head should i use or not.. there is help ie methadone, buperenorphine... no miracle cure.... but helps alot

  • man everyone makes mistakes. you shouldnt judge people based off it. many good hearted people get addicted to heroin. you shouldnt be a dick about it. they need help.

  • One of the many ironies of this video is that the song 'Dolphins' is by Fred Neil. Fred Neil was a heroin addict himself. There are so many ironies in this video it is amazing.

  • hi yall i have watched this scene countless times and i never seem to get enough of it similar to the scene in american gangster where the cop is drooling after shooting up or the trainspotting overdose scene heroin is really a great(taboo) drug and the way its potrayed in films makes you wonder what if? but thats only a thought. my thougt.

  • Try heroin, already.

  • I don't give a fuck about the needle guage, this is the perfect depiction of opiates

  • whats that song called

  • It's called "Dolphins" and it's by Fred Neil

  • "I guess I can toot some"

  • sfd

  • This is a great scene. Michael Imperioli is an amazing actor, one of my favorites. And the sopranos is easily my favorite Tv Drama. Oh, and to everyone who is bitching about the size of the needle; that could have been the only rig he could get his hands on at the moment, and he needed a fix.-kind of adds to the realism of this scene.

  • Using that size of spike, needle, works, barrell etc is purely for TV as said by david, you use 1mil spike for arms, that big spike is for deep injecting into the groin.

  • Chris, Best damn character in the whole fucking show!Best fucking screen writer for the show too!H is good make you fell fucking great! ow how I do miss the show!

  • If you want graphic, this is nothing. Black Tar Heroin - can be seen in four parts if you look for it. Not on this site, though.

  • in which site?

  • As a series-long sopranos fan....i'll keep it simple. This ~6 minute scene has to be one of the best David Chase ever filmed. It is quintessential sopranos in that it says everything, yet nothing. It is for the audience to judge/be engrossed...superb.

  • Glamorize it a little more, why don't you?

There's nothing beautiful about it. It's revolting, the whole idea of plunging a needle into a vein.

When HIV or Hepatitis comes along as a result, see how much allure heroin has then.

  • Get off your gigantic high horse, Jimbo! LOL. You MUST be a republican, ha ha ha ha!

  • nob jockeys x 2

  • a blue spike in your arm, wtf. memories memories, I miss that stuff every fucking day.

  • this is pretty much how heroin is, besides the BIG ASS SYRINGE/50000000000000000000000000 GAUGE NEEDLE WTF.... most people i know use like i think its 39 gauge 1/2 cc insulin syringes....you always wanna use the smallest syringes anyway less track marks and less vein damage

  • Makes the scene a lot more dramatic though with the monster needle.

  • once you shoot up, you'll never forget that feeling. im not saying that your "addicted for life" but you've seen and felt a "happiness" taht you can never (and shouldnt ever) experience in this life time. the higher you get the harder you fall. i never did smack but i did experiment with hard drugs. chris molt. is my favorite character, he was a dreamer. ahh i miss that show!

  • ha that needla was fuxing huge! i use insulin needles. WAAAAY less painful. but it takes longer to inject.rather smoke. ive done that. got real bombed out and layed on a park bench all day watching all the stupid fucks.

  • Rather be an addict than an illiterate racist any day of the week. I know, your spell check doesn't work. And I guess you were too stoned to realize you posted twice? Is 'hydro' short for hydromorphine?

  • He means "hydroponic marijuana".

  • I always was waiting for chris to get high.

Soon as he seen the flash,he was done. WHy not?

Why cant he get high? He hasnt had any bad stuff happen as a result yet.Not in the movie at least.

He wasnt shitn himself, pukin on himself cause he couldnt score. He didnt kill/prostitute/steal/lie/etc to get it. Do you know how many people got high as a result of watching these scenes????Yea,prrly a few of you readers too... :)

    Bad ju ju

  • Either someone producing the movie has first hand experience or they did mad research cause thats exactly what its like. I can remember shooting up many times and just sitting on my deck chain smoking and petting my cat for hours. For some reason I would always snatch my cat up and take him with me cause it felt so good to just chill and pet him. But what I had to do to get it got out of control and it ruined my life. DONE WITH THAT SHIT, J4TDY.

  • My first snort made me feel just like him,( This is an awesome scene ). I Remember I threw up like 5 minutes after and the high elevtaed more and more, a soothing, calm sensation, just like seconds after an orgasm climax...kids dont try it!!!!!!!

  • Excellent representation of a subjective experience of initiation - i liked the bit when his visual focus blurs ever so slightly and the edges soften ...and the music worked well too. Yes it was very evocative wasn't it?

  • personally I think this scene portrays drug addiction more than any other scene ever has in another television show. eg the way christopher tries talking his way out of his cravings focusing on something else. classic.

  • Such a great scene

  • beauifull job chase did!

  • shit man this is giving me cravings

  • Fucking drug addicts.

  • damn he's wasted..

  • Who's the singer of the song 'Dolpins'? I know the original is by Tim Buckley.

  • Fred Neil

  • cheers mate - it's a great tune

  • fred neil is the singer~!!!
