hey great video one question what finger do you use to pluck the strings?

I alternate index and middle - and also use 'rest' strokes so that when I'm descending I play with the finger that played on the string above. If that doesn't make any sense check out the video I did on Right Hand Technique. It's one of the series I did called HOW TO PLAY THE BASS VIRTUAL DVD.

I've been playing for years but never really progressed past intermediate. I'm pretty happy where I am because I can express myself well on the bass. I'm actually pretty good at improvising but have never spent any time trying to learn covers if I didn't have to.

Now that I'm older and find it harder to make time for a steady band and enjoy sitting down in front of the computer in youtube and learning covers.

I'm especially interested in the ear training.
