In the grand scheme of things, to talk about the rule of law and then only apply it when it is convenient, or politically palatable, is to disregard it entirely. In the grand scheme of things, to talk about the rule of law and then only apply it when it is convenient, or politically palatable, is to disregard it entirely. To casually decide that prosecuting former authorities is "looking back" or "focusing on the past" is a fool's argument, persuasive only to those who don't understand why we would have laws in the first place.

Well, in the grand scheme of things, there is no real benefit for the country or Obama to punish former authority. It's a bad move as many unpredictable consequence will stray from actually fixing the US. If you punish one, the rest will know what's coming and focus on saving themselves rather than focusing on the task at hand. Not to mention Obama's own safety will become an issue if he pursue in this direction.
Putting them to jail has zero benefits for America.

And I think he is taking serious steps to get us out of Iraq, and back to the war we should have been fighting, in Afghanistan and Pakistan, get that mess solved, and then get out.
On torture, detention without due process, and wire-tapping of Americans -- he aint doing much better, I admit. But I'm willing to give him some time to re-think these issues. Pressure from the left may get some results. Its worth a try.

I've looked at the numbers a dozen times from numerous sources over the years and they don't come anywhere close to your domino constructed numbers which makes you a lying shill.
The war sucked but using that as an excuse to inflate numbers to bolster an argument is just as dirty and low down as the reasons that you hate that led to the war.

Do you have a memory longer than 8 years? Bush senior bombed Iraq back to the stoneage, then the west put sanctions on them. I can guarantee you that the sanctions alone killed millions of people, but they wasn´t satified with that. Then they invaded again, and now the country is broken and on the way to civil war. What if not western policy created that? Again, Millions of poeple have died there. If you understate the numbers its a big shame on you.

I would say we killed at least a hundred thousand, I was only in Iraq for 1 year and we had apprx 25,000 civilian casualties.

The real question is why you voted for this jerk? This is consistent with what Obama's position has been since before the election there are no surprises unless you were uniformed. I didn't buy into Obama's bullshit and made my vote for Ralph Nader and Matt Gonzalez because our country needs some real change instead of the some old bullshit we keep getting from the major parties.

Those guys who voted for Obama definitely made the right "choice", no matter how it turns out. the problem is that good people will never get into a position to become president anymore. And if they do they will be puppets, else they risk the lives of those they care about. Politicians can be easily controlled through their family.
