okay i think it is sweet but i thought that is refreshing to have a romantic movie without a kiss scene you know. it made you focus on the other ways to show attraction and on the relationship itself i guess. well i don`t really understand why they only put the scene in the US version. i rather put it in every version or in none. but that`s just me ^^

This ending is lovely, romantic, swoon worthy and everything, but I still have difficulty enjoying it because the film itself is such a departure form the novel.

I suppose it is the best adaptation you could ever hope for when only given 2 hours to try to condense the hugely complex novel that is Pride and Prejudice.

My favorite adaptation is the 1980 version.

I understand how you feel about this 2005 version, but I'm a little surprised your favorite is the 1980 one - nearly everyone I know swoons over Colin Firth in the 1995 version. The 1980 version - if we're speaking of the same one - had a very tall and goodlooking Darcy but didn't you find him stiff? I didn't think he acted very well. But Lizzie was petite and quite cute in that one.

As i remember, there is a kiss near the end of the 1996 "Persuasion" with Root and Hinds which is not in the book! Nick Dear (screenwriter for that "Persuasion") wrote an explanation of why he put it in. Loved it. Tender, tasteful, and it spoke volumes about how they felt. :)

The movie ended where her father was weeping and said darcy was the one for her. that was the end of th emovie. This was 'tacked on' becuase tehy thought the americans would'nt like it. This ending to me - just looks fake, the lighting, and its sooo vomit worthy (i'm a lover of romantic movies, this is just yack) - so it was very sad that they had to do this!! it wasn't needed - you knew how much they loved each other from the rest of the film!
