im lvl 1 too. Why the fuck you have much more hp, hearts and give him much more damage.. I also picked up all hp upgrades....

I'd bet he used New Game+. Makes Lv. 1 Hard Mode slightly easier, as only your base stats are reset and not your HP or attribute strength.
