at the risk of leaving myself open to criticism, if they are going to keep up they have to follow what other manufacturers (who are winning)are doing. i don't like it either, but they have to move forward, otherwise what's the point? they're not a team who like to just make up the numbers, they want to be at the sharp end. however, i would concede that whilst the WRC 08 looks (ahem) ok, i bet the road going versions looks like a bunch of arse.

I guess Subaru looked at the Ford Focus 5-door and the Citroen 5-door and all the wins and said the needed to make the next Subaru a 5-door. Well I guess u got to do anything to start winning again. Car and Driver proved that the 08 Wagon STi Spec c is inferrior to the old 04-07 Sedan. In every performance test except braking. Look it up. People hate the new one that is why it is not selling in the U.S.

Sweet video, thanks! I owned a 2005 WRX and I loved it but I don't think I'll go for the new STi, just don't like the look, rather go for the EVO X, better looking and faster too! Too bad cause I loved the sound of the boxer so much!

Well im with you on the looks, it looks too much like an astra or something doesn't it? But as for being slower than the new EVO im not so sure, this is the most powerful STI they have done yet, over 300 bhp, and i bet its lighter than the new EVO.

Well now that some magazines got a hold of the Evo and got 0-60 in 5 sec. it doesn't seem so unattainable for the STI. I heard rumours the Evo was gonna go 0-60 at 4.4 sec. obviously those were simple guesses nothing more! The Evo X MR is supposed to be faster though.

The front end looks good and that is about it! Subaru is going to have problems trying to sell these in the U.S. market! I bet in a year they will come back with a regular car after they learned a big mistake.
