Fur bearing animals do not get skinned alive. The ONE video clip (7 years old now) of the ONE raccoon dog getting skinned alive was pretty much proven to be staged by the animal rights group the SAP.
Also, most of the world’s farmed fur is produced by European farmers - google it.

Probably a single chinese fur farm produces much more than many european farms. And, above all, the majority of furs produced in China are sent to Italy or France so that they can write "made in Italy/France" but is not like that. im an avid trapper and firmly believe that without trapping, populations would be crazy! ive been trapping in a frozen pond with muskrats and im done trapping it this year because i caught what i needed without wiping them out. Fur Farms are the bad guys, most trappers are like me only taking enough to maintain a stable population, besides most furbearers die from anything but natural causes and i like to think that im just kind of helping them.....but thats just me
@IFwetrust1 I agree with you, my video is about commercial fur farms. Without hunters/trappers there would be disease and starvation in animal populations. But i hope that you trap with cage traps or at least with something other than steeljaw traps that prolong suffering. I personally admire people that live off the land like you, because its better to trap your own fur or kill your own meat than to go buy it from disgusting fur farms or supermarkets!
@Taikkah im not going to lie, but i havn't used cage traps....but i dont use foothold traps either. I use conibear traps of the right size that quickly and humanely dispatch the animal. and for canine trapping i use relaxing snares that actually work more like a collar (they loosen when the animal stops pulling, which they do) and allows me to release the canine if i choose to not keep it. when i have to dispatch an animal i use a gun because i just dont think i could hit an animal to kill it
@Taikkah i, like IFwetrust1, i trap and hunt and i think that animal farming is bad, there is nothing wrong with harvesting an animal that has lived a healthy life in the wild rather than be caged up all it's life, but these "steel jaw traps" that so many anti groups make out to be cruel and inhumane but almost all of those statements are incorrect or old facts, yes there was a time 30+ years ago when traps weren't tested and regulated but now they have scientists working on making sure that...

It's true that you have to do what you have to do. I don't know what it is that you do. i've seen a coon shoot in the head still move while and after it was skinned its nerve reaction and bullets are not always as humane as people say and steel traps dont even harm the animal their not that many nerves in thier feet my sisters cat walked in to 1 of my footholds the only thing that scared it was the noise not one injury happened to it the animals just feel a slight presure ive had a trap go off on a fingure off my it was just a pinch
Trapping wild animals help their welfare. If raccoons where not trapped because they don't really have many natural predators, they would a die of a disease like rabies or distemper, or starve do to lack of food. Raccoons populations are much healthier where there is trapping. 50% of the population can be harvested yearly without an drop in population which would result if a disease would spread. I should know I am a wildlife management major.
@thielemi I know, this video is about commercial fur farming and inhumane ways of getting fur. I strongly support wildlife management, whether it be deer, elk, coyotes, or raccoons. But there is a way to do it ethically and humanley- and sadly people still use steel traps etc. Cagetraps are best- they dont prolong suffering.

I eat venison that i get from friends all the time! :) But, even ethical hunters must be informed about commercial fur farming. The animals are electrocuted and stunned. Sometimes they die from that, sometimes they dont- unfortunatley it doesnt matter to the person doing it- they then skin them reguardless if they are still alive or not. Fair enough, if you're going to use evrything on the animal, food etc, but not just for the fur. We evolced beyond the need for furs a long time ago, our ability to make convincing faux fur has gotten better every passing day, why is there still the need for real fur? Fur bearing animals do not get skinned alive. The ONE video clip (7 years old now) of the ONE raccoon dog getting skinned alive was pretty much proven to be staged by the animal rights group the SAP.
Also, most of the world’s farmed fur is produced by European farmers - google it.

And, above all, the majority of furs produced in China are sent to Italy or France so that they can write "made in Italy/France" but is not like that. im an avid trapper and firmly believe that without trapping, populations would be crazy! ive been trapping in a frozen pond with muskrats and im done trapping it this year because i caught what i needed without wiping them out. Fur Farms are the bad guys, most trappers are like me only taking enough to maintain a stable population, besides most furbearers die from anything but natural causes and i like to think that im just kind of helping them.....but thats just me

@Taikkah im not going to lie, but i havn't used cage traps....but i dont use foothold traps either. I use conibear traps of the right size that quickly and humanely dispatch the animal. and for canine trapping i use relaxing snares that actually work more like a collar (they loosen when the animal stops pulling, which they do) and allows me to release the canine if i choose to not keep it. when i have to dispatch an animal i use a gun because i just dont think i could hit an animal to kill it

first you show all the bad things in trapping. the stupid people who dont do it humanely. not all trappers are like that. we dont skin animals alive. and the reason we use fur is because God didnt make us with fur.

It's true that you have to do what you have to do. I don't know what it is that you do. I can''t argue against that; I just know there are things you couldn't pay me enough to do: clubbing baby seals to death, chopping beaks off of live chickens, skinning any animal alive in a systematic, cruel, cold, mechanical way, etc are way up on the list. I would choose to be a bum without shelter, food, or money than perform any of that disgusting stuff. I assume you have your limits too

i've seen a coon shoot in the head still move while and after it was skinned its nerve reaction and bullets are not always as humane as people say and steel traps dont even harm the animal their not that many nerves in thier feet my sisters cat walked in to 1 of my footholds the only thing that scared it was the noise not one injury happened to it the animals just feel a slight presure ive had a trap go off on a fingure off my it was just a pinch

Trapping wild animals help their welfare. If raccoons where not trapped because they don't really have many natural predators, they would a die of a disease like rabies or distemper, or starve do to lack of food. Raccoons populations are much healthier where there is trapping. 50% of the population can be harvested yearly without an drop in population which would result if a disease would spread. I should know I am a wildlife management major.

@thielemi I know, this video is about commercial fur farming and inhumane ways of getting fur. I strongly support wildlife management, whether it be deer, elk, coyotes, or raccoons. But there is a way to do it ethically and humanley- and sadly people still use steel traps etc. Cagetraps are best- they dont prolong suffering.

I love animals, and what these people do is sick, I love meat and fur though, however I believe in ethicality. @colbey1 Im glad there are people like you out there! :) AnimalActivists think of all hunters/fur lovers are coldblooded killers who dont care about animals at all but the truth is that we love and respect animals but still use them as a resource. I dont wear fur but I certainly have no problem with people who get their fur from a humane source. 18% of americans dont agree with hunting/trapping yet only 3% are vegetarian so 15% are hypocrites who don't have their facts right!

@colbey1 I am with you also-I actually love taxidermies and most i have seen come from over populated animals like deer. I think there are humane ways of obtaining such items. I am also an animal lover,but have also been in near collisions due to over populated deer. Things do need to be balanced humanely. However I don't own any furs or taxidermies

@lisakelly10 If you had read further you would have seen that I absolutley agree with hunting!!! I eat venison that i get from friends all the time! :) But, even ethical hunters must be informed about commercial fur farming. The animals are electrocuted and stunned. Sometimes they die from that, sometimes they dont- unfortunatley it doesnt matter to the person doing it- they then skin them reguardless if they are still alive or not. I do have my facts right, there is evidence to prove it.
