your hands are in a good position before you punch, but then you drop them before every punch you're gonna lose a lot of power that way keep your hands up, it's something I've worked on myself a lot.
I got some criticism for you... Get a sparring partner that can whoop the shit out of you. spar with him 3 days, then match him 1 day. When he kicks your ass, you get tougher. Practice form and good luck lol
You should hang the bag higher and aim to where your head would be standing next to the bag. You'll get used to throwing body shots all the time and misjudge the distance to your oponent's head. And forget the combos as long as you don't pull your hands back on guard after each strike. In my experience, the way you train is the way you fight (with some exceptions) so concentrate more on quality and less on quantity. Good luck!
Is there any point to using MMA gloves with a heavy bag? The only difference between using bag gloves and MMA gloves that I can work out would be the damage to your hands.
i was 16 when i made this video, 17 now . gotten a lot better with combos, strikes, kicks, knees, and balance. maybe i'll post another video soon for feedback .
use jabs a little more often and use other strikes like hooks to the body and head try some over hands and if you feel up to it try a super man punches if your looking at an MMA aproache then ad some knees kicks and elbows which you could find videos on technique and different types of each of those
everyone keeps saying keep your hands up and move which is right but a few things that would also help is try to hit the bag where your chin would be if you were the opponent. same goes for body shots aim for where your ribs and stomach would be. also pace yourself.chill! at that speed rate you wont last 3 rounds. also try not to switch your stances at this stage. plus try to mix things up more as you throw fast hands then go out of range then take two steps before you throw dont get predictible
i appreciate you have little room, but constant moving of the head and feet are key to working the angles needed in fighting and burning those extra calories when hitting a bag. again excellent speed, just keep the hands up and head moving. finally hitting the bag coming toward u may not be great for your wrists in the long run, picking your shots is more important then lots of flurries.
@stevensontour your supposed to hit the bag while its coming toward you.. or while its coming toward your fist. thats called "working the bag" i have taken Boxing and that is what every teacher tells you.. do not hit the bag when its going away from you.. that isnt good training.
@stevensontour Thank you so much, Im 15 and have been hitting it when its coming back with ufc gloves and messing up my wrists haha that just saved me alot of pain.
keep those hands up at all times bro, and throw more from the hip, not from the shoulder. if you put your hip into your punch, you will generate MUCH more power.. push off the ground with your feet, then snap your hip, and let all that energy travel thru your entire body and thru your arm. so push, snap, punch. try and get the movements as smooth and efficient as possible and you will generate much more power.
when you throw punches your hands fall right after, you wanna throw and bring back your punch still up high, that way your in position to block right away, also your pushing the bag with your punches more than punchin em, the bag is swinging way too much, and you should move around the bag not just stay in one spot you wanna take different angles at an opponent
Hands up! Especially after a flurry. U dont want to get in that habit of dropping hands after a punch. Always think abouut defending your grill. Good speed tho, mix it up a bit more. Work on the mechanics of each punch. Just jab, just hooks, once your good at it then start doin some combos. The power will come w/ technique. I got some hvy bag vids if u want to check it out. Just keep at it, repittition is the father of learning!
you got the motivation and appears that it comes in hand with conditioning... i would like to say that maybe some boxing gloves would be a little better to build speed... also i would like to comment on balance and footwork... also your hands are a little too low... try keeping them up at all times no matter what... and if they start to get tired and start burning... THAT IS WHEN YOU WANT TO KEEP THEM UP PERMANENTLY....
dont move your legs just hold it still
