  • So, since you have the closing to Perfect Strangers and the opening to Mr. Belvidere from 1989. Does that mean you have that nights block of TGIF on tape??

  • @blkplaguelmc Yup, I do... :)

  • @WREYtube I know it's probably not allowed to share that whole TGIF block with the commercials on youtube, but there are other ways you could, riiiiight??

    :)

  • Did Gary Owens say 'Clifton Webb' in that promo for the pilot special Somerset Gardens (which was obviously an attempt to capitalize on The Golden Girls)? That would be damn near impossible for that actor to be Webb, because 1), he was taller and thin, as opposed to this actor, and 2), Webb died in 1966. Had he lived, Webb would have been four months away from celebrating his 100 birthday when this aired! The actor in question looks familiar, but I know my ears aren't playing tricks..

  • Also, it's ironic that this possibly strange goof occurred in the spot for a program following Mr. Belvedere, since Clifton Webb played Belvedere in Sitting Pretty (1948), Mr. Belvedere Goes to College (1949) and Mr. Belvedere Rings the Bell (1951), the three films based upon the Gwen Davenport novel about the character.

This was the Friday lineup for July 28, 1989, which was the last time Perfect Strangers and Mr. Belvedere aired at 8:30/7:30, and 9/8, respectively.
