In the DePalma Black Dahlia movie, which in the movie version anyway, is very bad fiction, in my opinion, still through the actors and actresses they keep saying throughout the movie that "George did it".
In the original investigation Elizabeth told many of her friends that she was dating and going to marry "George" when he got out of the hospital. The friends passed this information on to the press and police. I haven't seen the DePalma film, but in the twenty-year old novel, Ellroy's suspect is also a "George." But, not George Hodel. No one publicly had ever heard of George Hodel until my book published in 2003.

Steve, where do you & James stand right now as far as your relationship goes?
He seemed to be really on-board with your BDA when it first came out but now it seems like maybe things are strained between you guys.
I might be way off here.
