I absolutely love doing stuff like this. the first year I did something like this, I shelled out $37,000! advise, distract the person with a cool prop (for example, an Egor prop), then have someone jump out at them, but make the person related to the prop. (for example, while they look at the Egor prop, have a guy dressed up as Dr. Frankenstein jump out at them)

1) Lighting: Buy red and green flood lights (~$2 each) and aim it at your house. Also buy a small strobe light. (~$10)

2) Buy a ball of twine (~$2) and make a large spider web. Attach the web on the side of your house or porch.

3) A roll of 6mil black painter plastic (~$50) to cover the walls, make barriers, wrap a canopy, etc.

4) Music: make a CD from scary downloaded music and play in repeat mode on your boom box or stereo.

The best effect is a theme, not a bunch of random props.

Nice Job! However you need more monsters popping out at people. lol The room with all the blood reminded me of one of my old haunted houses. We had a mad doctor room and we had a dead body on an operation table. We used noodles for the guts and covered them with fake blood. The day after the haunted house I went into the garage and the noodles had vanished. I think a mouse got in 0.o

i never use electric decorations for my haunted house exept lights and fog machines. the rest are homade or store bought plastic/foam props. I just think that using those cheap scare electric talking pirate heads are a waste of money. why cant u just have a real perso scare you?
