Shabu-Shabu 2 u. Back here in NY, Brooklyn to be exact, there are several Shabu-Shabu restaurants. Little differences from the ones I have seen online from Japan. The biggest one is the raw egg is served but we were asked to crack it into the broth to cook instead of using it as a dip. Never the less, a wonderful way to spend time with friends/family and enjoy a good meal.
My kids love any kind of NABE. We have shabushabu at least twice a month at home. The wife is serious about it...gas cooker, stainless steel restauarant grade shabupot, etc....nothing better on a cold winter night.
Awesome! I have never had shabu-shabu either! I wanna try it! Actually, the reason they call it shabu-shabu is because that's the sound of washing something, and it's like you're washing the thinly sliced meat in the broth. Silly, but true. Can't wait for the oppai! Woooo~!
lol wow a travelling American! Rarity to see one with a passport ;)

The Hachiko story is very touching, huh. My friend told me when we went to Shibuya the other day. :)
haha...For those who want to learn Japanese, I recommend taking classes, too! But people want to learn for free on the Internet, you know. xD
Thanks for sharing the great times! :D

You can find Shabu Shabu in a lot of major cities. For instance, there's a chain in Boston called Shabu-Zen....its amazing.
You can find it in Minnesota (where Im from) in a few different restaurants.

Shabu shabu is great. Specially in winter.
You can get shabu shabu at a few Japanese restaurants in most large cities in North America. But it is not as good.
