y'all are all selfish as fuck. nobody gives a shit about your birthday or whatever. this ruined our town, and that is all that is important. you'll never understand how serious this is until you live through it. we struggle everyday because of the tornado; i go to school in a department store. please be more sensitive to the 160 people who lost their lives, and all the people, like me, that were effected by this tornado.
this is kind of upsetting cuz first people were makin the stupid excuse of the world ending on may 21, and may 21 is my birthday so then on the next day may 22 this giant tornado happens and I heard that after one day after my birthday. Its not that wonderful hearing a tornado raging and killing people on the day after your birthday! So be happy that you werent in this and shut up haters cuz this is a REAL LIFE situation people lost family and everything. god bless anybody in this tornado ): :)
Our official death toll is 160. I cannot believe the nerve of those who think this is a laughing matter. When it is your home town and friends and family members who experience something devastating you will not find it amusing. I am proud to be from Joplin and I will never live anywhere but here. This is my home and it is beautiful.
God saved my life that day... R.I.P. to all the others who died because of thuis terrible storm... My father died in/ The tornado is NOT funny- God bless
Thank you for keeping this real by not trying to make this a music video by adding music like some STUPID ASSHOLES have done to tarnish the horror of this event
ive been chaseing storms for the past 7 years and this tornado with many others i chased, filmed and photographed this year alone thinking the 1 that hit tuscaloosa was bad i knew something much bigger would form sometime then when i was out near springfeild missouri visiting family got a call that something big might form shure enough it did god bless the ppl of joplin god bless the fellow chasers following that day
I live in Joplin. Seeing it from this perspective is less disturbing, than having lived through this first hand. Our town is demolished but rebuilding more every day. It is something I never want to experience ever again.
AND TO ALL OF U MAKING FUN OF THE TORNADO OR PEOPLE. GET A FREAKIN LIFE. PEOPLE LOST THEIR LIVES, HOMES, JOBS, EVERYTHING THEY HAD. U TRY GOING THROUGH THAT AND HAVING PEOPLE MAKE FUN OF U.
@babe20033002 hey everyone i agree with this person if all of u not like the people of joplin mo who lost love ones and who also lost there homes on may 22nd when the tornado happened in joplin mo then get a life people and leave the people alone in joplin mo
@babe20033002 I so totally agree with u. I was in this tornado and was missed by a block and a half. Way to close. I was scared for my life. I had no basement and was scrambling for a place to take cover.
@babe20033002 I guess old boy Jesus wasn't lookin' out for her that day. Shame. Should have built her church to the One True Master, oh great, all mighty, the one, the only....LUCIFER!!!!!! Your true master! Bow down before your Dark Lord!!! You better get on your knees and Pray, to Satan himself! Or he will reign Hell Fire, AND TORNADOES AND LIGHTNING upon your shit village of Joplin! Do you hear me? You have one chance. Let the blood of a goat, on the next full moon, and you might be spared.
@jackstrawfrmwchta You're rackin' up some pretty bad Karma for yourself, boy. Just keep at it. Truly, you are only hurting yourself...with each evil word you write. Oh, it may not get you today.....but it will. Guaranteed. Your only way out is to re-vamp your way of thinking from negativity to positive.
You poor guy. How empty you are inside. And you know it, don't ya? Sure you do. Like my late father told me "son, the older you get, the more you're gonna realize how stupid you just sounded"
Can we all agree that the weather patterns of the whole world are changing. I have never seen a tornado like this in my life, there will have to be new scales invented to classify it. Droughts where there shouldn't be, extreme heatwaves this summer accross the whole country and these tornados seem more powerful every year. So nice to see all of the heroism in the community pulling together to help others. So sorry for your losses.
i still can not believe this is the tornado that tore up our hometown and took the life of my sons friend. no 3 year old or child or even adult should have to go through something like this again...R.I.P Skyuler. We miss you.
People in Missouri are not dumb, nor are they stupid. How can you say somethig like that when you don't know the people? There might be people who are less smarter than others, but likewise in any other state. Everyone is different. You just can't judge people like that. Pathetic. Just a sidenote, I'm from Missouri, and I live in Joplin. If that wasn't obvious.
my kids and i were hit by this tornado, the only place left standing in our house was where we were hiding. if we had gone in the basement we wouldnt have made it out. the house collapsed into the basement. my wife was at work thankfully, and we didnt find each other until around midnight. she didnt know if we were alive or not. the feelings we experienced and still feel are overwhelming and i pray it never happens here again but if it does we will be prepared with a storm shelter.
I drove through there yesterday I'm from south Dakota :( it really is bad I'm praying for everyone from there ..just remember this kind of stuff happens and you can't change the past this incident will make everyone stronger :)
I was a firefighter for 25 years and dealt with out of control situations for a little while, eventually we sorted it, mother nature , takes no prisoners, she decides and was so devastated for the people of Joplin that day.
@jackstrawfrmwchta first of all your not cool by putting zzzzz's on everything second everything happens for a reason joplin has to be the strongest town i know now
@DJPoeschl strongest town you know? Not too damn strong I'd say, or it wouldn't have been so easily blown away. Like the two little pigs that built their houses out of straw and sticks. Should have used bricks. Doesn't surprise me though. People from Missouri are on average some of the dumbest people in the country. Architecture and engineering are hard for stupid hillbillies to understand. You see the result.
@jackstrawfrmwchta You must be the stupidest fucking person I've ever known, First didn't mean it in the literal sense dumb ass i meant morally and spiritually. @WickedTornado Whatever you say troll. I can type whatever I want. Also, I wasn't the first to start typing that phrase. Besides, don't you have anything better to do than to worry about what other people say? For the record I'm 20, that doesn't make a boy.
being a storm chaser myself i can say that i have experienced one myself. but nothing will compare to what joplin has been through. all you people who have lost your homes and family members my prayers are with you. there is nothing anybody can do to replace what you have lost in a family member. you can replace a home but not a son or a daughter or a mother or a father. god bless all of you who survived. and those who have lost.
I was in the Missouri Southern State University basement when that hit. When we left I learned that the high school I had just graduated from was gone. I was lucky enough to have my house, but many of those close to me were not.
@babygurl9185 I'm very sorry to hear that... this disaster was so massive I'm still watching video of it over a month later. I hope you are able to rebuild both your home and your life. :)
there's another video of the big twister with a man and wife chasing it and getting WAAAAAAY too fuckign close. You guys were smart and and did not drive into that thing. Coodoos for knowing when to go in and when to say a little back.

ok i was in this tornado and ive done search and rescue and we found 115 under a wall in east side of walmart on 15th, the death toll is 284 people dead and 580 still missing.
Im uhh pretty proud to say I was in that tornado and lived even though our house was swept clean off the foundation. I speak for joplin when I say MOTHER NATURES A B****!!!!!
@ucwicket420 True. I figured that being user-driven media, YouTube might be more humane than Cretin News Network or Farce News but evidently my expectations were much too high
About 132 people killed. I have been there and it isn't pretty. Helping people try to sort through what is left of their life is really heartbreaking. I saw two older men loading some stuff in a truck and offered to help. One man told me that they had already been there seven times, that was their last trip and they had all they were going to get. When I asked them what about the other stuff that looked salvageable one man just shook his head and said, "At my age, that stuff doesn't matter."
F-1? Looks kind of small, not very impressive did anyone get hurt? Don't you mean 30ft wide not 3/4 of a mile wide? Wow they get that big huh? Really? In the USA? Wow!! Looks more like a dust devil!! Why is everyone yelling are they watching a basketball game or somethin?
@yetibiker08 No it wasnt nice. Maybe look stuff up before making uninformed comments. That tornado destroyed over 2000 homes and buildings. Im guessing you dont watch the news.
@yetibiker08 look, i dont usually insult people, i find the act deplorable, but WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?!!??!?! this tornado took the lives of 134 people!!!! if youre a fucking troll, this is not the fucking time for it!! and if youre not, youre either evil or a fucking retard with no grasp on the pain and suffering this thing caused. yes, it was beautiful to watch, but the whole time i watched i cried cus i knew that WHILE i was watching people were dying! go fucking die, asshole!!!
Hey, don't get upset people die all the time and although 134 people died it is a part of nature. You cried while people died well then you are "human" and this indicates that you still have humanity left in you!! What you can offer to those who lost loved ones is an alternative to buying cheap homes that end up with crushed little bodies inside. If "life is valued highly" then change your way of thinking and move outside the box of limited thinking. Change your ways!!
Wind speeds were 200+ mph. Fatalies 141 and climbing as people are dying from their injuries. 8000 structures gone or damaged, and 4500 now homeless citizens.
I live here and I still haven't seen all the damage 2 weeks later. Everyday is something you haven't seen before. The people and volunteers here are AMAZING.
@chelst525 I think they are storm chasers so they were probably in the area anyway and just happen to get lucky to see it form and film it. I'm shocked at how fast it formed.
@chelst525 With my last comment being said. I HIGHLY recommend that NO ONE try during this who isn't properly trained. I'm a trained spotter and most storm chasers are trained as well so we know how to position ourselves so we'll be safe and if we do get into trouble, we always have at least one escape route. If you notice, they are a ways back (they tell us to keep a two mile buffer in our training) And the tornado doesn't appear to be going towards them. Actually, I think its moving to the
@willthecreator My guess is the inner wind speeds were between 250, and 300 MPH just looking at the damage, plus taking into consideration other factors...how viscously it was rotating, plus how fast it was moving (about 70 MPH) and being 3/4 a mile wide.
World Socialist Website: "The government’s haggling over a billion dollars for emergency assistance stands in marked contrast with its readiness to expend tens or hundreds of billions of dollars to bail out the financial system and expand its wars abroad. The Socialist Equality Party calls for a massive public works program in response to the Joplin, Missouri tornado and the other disasters that have afflicted the United States."
omg... i just feel so bad for the people that died in this natural disaster... it's sad just thinking about it. and when the tornado got that big, i was like: WOW THAT'S BIG O_O
for me, being in a tornado would be my worst life experience.
too bad the tornado actually missed joplin, it just hit the outskirts. Id love to see that town disappear.

being a storm chaser myself i can say that i have experienced one myself. but nothing will compare to what joplin has been through. all you people who have lost your homes and family members my prayers are with you. there is nothing anybody can do to replace what you have lost in a family member. you can replace a home but not a son or a daughter or a mother or a father. god bless all of you who survived. and those who have lost.

I was in the Missouri Southern State University basement when that hit. When we left I learned that the high school I had just graduated from was gone. I was lucky enough to have my house, but many of those close to me were not.

MsBecky60 8 months ago
F-1? Looks kind of small, not very impressive did anyone get hurt? Don't you mean 30ft wide not 3/4 of a mile wide? Wow they get that big huh? Really? In the USA? Wow!! Looks more like a dust devil!! Why is everyone yelling are they watching a basketball game or somethin?

yetibiker08 8 months ago
@yetibiker08 No it wasnt nice. Maybe look stuff up before making uninformed comments. That tornado destroyed over 2000 homes and buildings. Im guessing you dont watch the news.
MrChrispchris 8 months ago
@yetibiker08 look, i dont usually insult people, i find the act deplorable, but WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?!!??!?! this tornado took the lives of 134 people!!!! if youre a fucking troll, this is not the fucking time for it!! and if youre not, youre either evil or a fucking retard with no grasp on the pain and suffering this thing caused. yes, it was beautiful to watch, but the whole time i watched i cried cus i knew that WHILE i was watching people were dying! go fucking die, asshole!!!
perfectionisntreal 8 months ago
@perfectionisntreal
Change your ways!!
yetibiker08 8 months ago
@perfectionisntreal the death toll has risen to 151 now

Wind speeds were 200+ mph. Fatalies 141 and climbing as people are dying from their injuries. 8000 structures gone or damaged, and 4500 now homeless citizens.
I live here and I still haven't seen all the damage 2 weeks later. Everyday is something you haven't seen before. The people and volunteers here are AMAZING.

yetibiker08 8 months ago
@chelst525 I think they are storm chasers so they were probably in the area anyway and just happen to get lucky to see it form and film it. I'm shocked at how fast it formed.
arohn2007 8 months ago
@chelst525 With my last comment being said. I HIGHLY recommend that NO ONE try during this who isn't properly trained. I'm a trained spotter and most storm chasers are trained as well so we know how to position ourselves so we'll be safe and if we do get into trouble, we always have at least one escape route. If you notice, they are a ways back (they tell us to keep a two mile buffer in our training) And the tornado doesn't appear to be going towards them. Actually, I think its moving to the

what was the wind speed on it looks like a f5
willthecreator 8 months ago
@willthecreator My guess is the inner wind speeds were between 250, and 300 MPH just looking at the damage, plus taking into consideration other factors...how viscously it was rotating, plus how fast it was moving (about 70 MPH) and being 3/4 a mile wide.
