  • RCC though...? im pretty sure this isn't riverside...

  • NEEDS MORE COWBELL

  • Hey center right! Nice fail at 1:20

  • Bass drums are supposed to sound like bass drums. Not tin cans....talented guys but tuning sucks

  • that was just a bad rep

  • hate to be trollin' but, 1:20 , BAHA

  • Man, aside from the poor pitch selection, the drums aren't even in tune across the line! Not cool, BD.

  • some of the spock rolls a little rough. But still beast as always

  • those tenors sound awful... just cranked the shit of out em

  • a lot of double stops there

  • 1:16 "NO YOU DIDNT DUDE!!!" hahahahahahahahaha

  • @DRUMMERxSPONGEY That was Ivan Pacheco :o lol

  • pure dirt @2:14

  • @bluestars2013 Good thing you pointed that out.

  • the only bad thing about the blue devils is that there is pretty much no rim sticking up on the tenors. its all pretty much level.....but other than that, DAMN!!

  • this is literally my favorite BD cadence

  • @oneSICKfaith Cadence? lol

  • @poopmcdoopdoop excerpt, whatever

  • "no you didnttt!!! HE DID!!!!!!"

  • 1:20 Tenor came in too early but recovered :o

  • i think i might go to college there. It's a hard decision based on what I want to do in my future, i mean, i'm not gonna work. I'm going to do something else that's more active than a office with a computer in front of your face.

  • ooommmggg i played like that in high school LOL i really want to do it again :-) good job ...kick ass !!!

  • BEAST!

  • Man, they're clean duh, but why do the drums have to sound like utter shit?

  • @DoomBass Don't troll dude, its not cool.

  • Step 1. Let them behind kits

    Step 2. Brain Assplode

  • I'm 14 and I am in my High School band and I live kind of close to Concord, but I highly doubt I possess the skills to be apart of this band. I am a 2nd year Trumpet player trying to audition for my schools drum line next year.

  • @nesnaj21 If you really like music, go for it. try out for the Blue Devil "C" corp where you will get excellent instruction and be a part of a great group. In any case practice........ a lot........

  • @fivepacdad I will. I will practice a ton. And once I am confident, I will try.

  • @nesnaj21 If you want the real drum corp experience i suggest trying out for Blue Devils B that is if you plan on auditioning on trumpet. If you want to march drumline BD C isnt a bad choice although they are young they are phenominal players

  • @RockstarDaniel My bad. I confused Concord with another city. I live 6 hours away from Concord, so I can't do it. HAHA. :D

  • @nesnaj21 Me to!Exept im a freshmen and i have been playing for 3 1/2 years and i would love to join any of these bands but thats cool you can try out for drumline

  • @600bri I'm a Freshman too! My Band Director is teaching me how to play snare and I am very enthusiastic about it. I just bought a drum practice pad because the snare drum I own is very cheap and makes a bad noise. And I also bought a snare drum essentials book so that I can learn more about drumming.

  • @nesnaj21 Wow really thats amazing!! i love the snare but i think tenors are better:) haha but o thats cool i would love to learn how to play any type of drum

  • @600bri I like the Tenors buy I really enjoy the sound of the snare. :)

  • @nesnaj21 yea i think mostly all the drums are awsome.but hey good luck! you'll do great!!:D

  • @600bri Thank you!! Good luck to you too! :)

  • @nesnaj21 Thank you!:)

  • @nesnaj21 do b corp i just finished my 4th year in the b corp and theres no better way to prepare yourself for the a corp than doing the b corp trust me whether its trumpet or drumline. workshop december tenth go check it out on the bluedevil website!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ill b there too

  • @nesnaj21 If youre interested in the drumline i would recommend trying out for the C corps, but if you want to be a part of the hornline i suggest trying out for the B corps (on trumpet) you would most likely get a spot on either corps.

  • @nesnaj21 dude anything is possible. a friend of mine played clarinet for 5 years. drummed for 2 years. he marched with Spirit.

  • is brandon zackey still section leader? i remember from the 2009 bluesmoke dvd

  • @jpsguitarguy Nick Arce

  • @fivepacdad i think he just aged out too haha

  • Comment removed

  • @nesnaj21 ...no. no it isn't.

  • @IslandQuads Then this has got to be the most impressive drum line I've ever seen out of all of these audition bands.

  • @nesnaj21 Touche

  • @nesnaj21 Concord Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corp

  • @fivepacdad Well they are excellent...

  • @nesnaj21 people who cant play that good would dislike it.

  • @nesnaj21 look up DCI. these aren't marching bands they are similar to them but pretty much take out the winds, add a shit load of horns with 10x more sound, add beats that only a handful of people can play clean, and blow people's mind

  • what cadence/warmup is this called

  • @fivepacdad

i didn't say anything about me. i like the movie fine. it's what got me wanting to join drumline. i said my instructors and peers didn't like it. because it seemed that rickdawg527 was implying that drumline people all love that movie and i've found that that's not always the case, and i gave a reason why.

  • @Mattlutn23 you're right, drumline the movie exactly what you described.

  • @RickDawg527

Actually, in my experience in a drumline, I found that my instructors and peers didn't like that movie at all. They thought their technique was extremely sloppy.

  • @Mattlutn23 Fantastic! why don't you direct us to the video's that show technique more to your liking so we can all see.........

  • 1:20 Fakey!!!!! ;D

  • Maybe its just me, but I'm hearing such a minimal tuning range and they're tuning so high that all the tone is sucked out. No like

  • sigh <3

  • Holy crap...They're friggin Robots or something.....Oh,wait, .....no, they're Blue Devils!! >;O

  • SICKNESS WITHA QUICKNESS :))) BLUEDEVILS FOR EVERRRRRRR

  • what are they playing here?

  • Enough with the buzz rolls already!

  • "No you didn't!!!" 1:14 :)

  • 1:20 the second one in from the right ticks on the sticks up. :P But he makes that mistake cleanly and confidently lol. These guys are just ridiculously good.

  • @DrDoomsauce and if you weren't really looking for a mistakes, you might think it was apart of the show

  • @unitedyouthgroup what school do you go to?

  • i love the description: "RCC show from up on top"

  • Theyre really good but they gotta bring thier elbows in a little cliser to thier body

  • @Toastassassin22 no they dont the one second in from the right is dean hickman and hes been my teacher ever since ive been in high schoool and hes one of the best tenor players alive if u have your elbows in it makes you look small.

  • 1:40, sick.

  • @MusicisMYlife210 2:15, barf...

  • mistakes:

    1) they're called quads//quints

cuz tenors are their own drum

  • @Tockwork lol.....sorry, guess i didnt read the official "you call only call drums by this name" handbook like you did.

  • @RickDawg527 *can

  • @Tockwork i was gonna take a guess and say that you probably like that gay movie "drumline".....then i checked your profile.....lol. FYI, DRUMLINE sucks balls.

  • @RickDawg527

i don't know how you assume that, just because i am informed of the different vocabulary terms used in the percussion and marching band world.

oh yeah, you're a stalker too, lol.

  • @Tockwork i assume because you got tons of "drumline" videos on your page....you also probably got a picture of nick cannon on your wall....

  • @RickDawg527

    you're a loser.

  • If only the first attack wasn't dirty, this would be insane. Especially all the stuff at the end.

  • Second Tenor from the right:

    0:05 Scratches himself.

1:20 Brings sticks up too early.

I'm not better just felt like pointing out some mistakes

    ;D

  • Yeah Dean!

  • i think tennors should take the place of snares

  • snares sound like hell.....

  • @metachozoite oh well, theyre still the world champions

  • @acro2008 yea...but if you dont knwo these thinsg you don get better...and its NOT about whos champion every year...to a REAL muscian its about the music, the experiance, and the thrills.......and I find it kinda strange that the same corps make it every year...anyway of that boat...its about the music, friendships, that stuff...who cares about a stupid ring...youll realise this when your 27 or 30 and you can look back on this with maturity and think about it.

  • @metachozoite calm the fuck down hahahaha

  • @acro2008 this message should you except to reread it...lol shoud be read in a verry calm monotone voice hahaha :P...im hyper today so peopel got lots of messages like this...that and ive been awake now for 23 hours!! AHHHH!!! :P

  • @metachozoite oh lmao

  • @acro2008 yea I have drunk 12 dr ppepers and have been up 23 hours AND I CANT SLEEP!!!! it sucks....if i had a woman...shed be in trouble lol... :P

  • Insane love The Devs line!!!

  • god damn... they're like... robots, so perfect and precise

  • bad attack

  • what type of heads are they using

  • @xXcloudresXx Evans System Blue Tenors heads

  • did the second tenor from the right go to cadets? i cudve sworn i saw him at a cadets rehearsal the other day

  • @hello65100 Yes, he did.

  • Jeha ;D

  • 1:20 BD TICKER!

  • @studmuffinxDCIx actually i was watching an RCC video at the same time, and thought you were commenting on their video. then, when i saw i commented on the BD video, i deleted it myself. troll harder, "faggot".

  • Comment removed

  • lucky me i play euph and tenors haha love every minute of both how do I decide?

  • This makes me so insanely proud to play tenors... =)

  • i cant do this smh, ill just be electric triangle....GET AT ME!

  • Ivan Pacheco : OH NO YOU DIDNT!!!

  • @TOMMY22 Noooooo!! BD's snare line may have gotten a lil dirty this year, nd the basses may not be cadets level, but their tenor line is the best in dci! Hands down!

  • @MAC94BMP Agreed. BD always seems to have an amazing tenor line. Bluecoats can get up there too, but I feel like BD always has them beat.

  • 1:29 totally fucking perfect! haha

  • tenor heads seem a little high

  • Thats SICK at 1:40!

  • oooooo jumped the gun with the sticks up @1:20 haha

  • fucking up the easy stuff since 2001.....

  • Bad attack at 0:14 :(

Other than that probably one of the greatest lines ive seen.

  • I'd love to know how many heads the tenor guys go through in a season.

  • @A216shadoW a lot man. i was on Revolution Drum and Bugle corps bass line and they would change tenor heads every few days and thats 6 sets of heads for 4 or 5 drums do the math heh.

  • @tdopyera yeah.

  • phantoms tenors were better this year

  • @tdopyera yeah, he was a year behind Nick and Scott

  • AMAZING IN EVERY WAY

maybe except for that one false raise by that middle tenor at 1:20.

    BUT STILL REALLY AMAZING

  • 1:40 is how babies are made.

  • absolutely brilliant

  • always my favorite tenor line. even without tim jackson

  • ain't got nothing on the PR tenor line

  • DAMN!!! these cats would make MS colleges hide.....

  • i am officialy gay

  • yeeeeeeah...but still.....as a devil, you should know that cross over passages are going to be tricky, so clean it up first thing. Slow it down to 120 instead of 160 or whatever and get it clean...work it back up and it won't be a problem. thats just how i was raised and to hear rims from BD is flat out unacceptable as with any line at this level.

  • I hope everyone on here who posts comments on here about scores, realizes that the percussion score is of THE ENTIRE PERCUSSION SECTION. Not just the battery. SO it reflects the front ensemble as well. So any fraction of a point isnt necessarily from the battery section. Too many people forget that and think that just becasue a drumline lost by .1, means that their battery section wasnt as clean as the other.

Vote this up so people read this before they post.

  • Love that hocket at 1:40.

  • If I didn't play Tuba, i would sure as hell be on Tenors.

  • @xxPatheticEmoxx I actually switched from tuba to tenors. Great decision.

  • @BenjyBreakdown I do Tenors for winter line.

  • @xxPatheticEmoxx I'd marched bass in winter while playing tuba for two seasons but switched to tenors for my junior year on.

  • @xxPatheticEmoxx that's exactly what i'm considering too xD

  • @xxPatheticEmoxx you'd probably be beast too!! lol

  • @pyro9029412 Well I do practice on my tenor pads.

  • @xxPatheticEmoxx I love em...but ill admit after marching them in DCA...there the hardest instrument on the field.

  • @xxPatheticEmoxx same here im a sax player and all i want is to be a drummer :P

  • cooool

  • someone knows hoe to film a lot! best fukn angles haha

  • did you climb a tree to film this? lol

  • @TWfan87 He's standing on a big ass concrete sign that says "riverside community college" on it.

  • @TWfan87 hell yea monkey vision lol...

  • @TWfan87 he was waiting for jesus to walk down the street!

  • Blue Devils go hard can't wait to see there stuff for this year :)

  • they were good they never stood a chance against phantom and whats with all the stupid double stops...

  • i dont think there were enough double stops....

  • those 2 shots at 1:39 ALWAYS trip me out

  • they are using mirrors to make it look like 4. there's really only one playing. I love their tenors.

  • Love the tenor visual @1:28 and the visual solo from the head tenor @1:21

  • My indoor tenor line just marched with system blues... mmmm those are sexy.

and those crossovers towards the end were sexy too ;D

  • i love this tenor line, but i hate the sound of the second spock drum :/ i wish everyone just marched quints...

  • those system blues...wow (:

  • didnt the guy on the right march blue coats in 09?

  • @fivepacdad Is he the only new quadplayer for 2010? The other 3 look like they have been on the tenor line since '08

  • @drummer6590 Nick's first year was 09',I believe Brandon and Dean were there in 08. So for sure He was the only new quadplayer for 2010. For 2011 2 new, Chris and Andrew.

  • @fivepacdad So who is all on the quad line now? Other than the 2 new guys

  • @drummer6590 Scott Nelson, Nick Arce, Andrew Verduzzco (All from La Quinta HS) and Chris Drummer from Bakersfield HS.

  • @fivepacdad So no one from the years 08-09 I'm guessing

  • @fivepacdad dean marched crown in 08. his first year in devs was 09.

  • @IronfistmanDV yes he did hey the guy next to scott nelson little early on the sticks up hu? but over all sick Tenors for ever

  • I think the blue devils bass drums sound terrible.

  • 2:15 wat's up with that snares?

  • @studmuffinxDCIx You might just be my new favorite person to mess with. =]

  • @studmuffinxDCIx Right, which is why I post under my actual name, where I'm held accountable for my words... you studmuffin, you. =]

  • 1:20 is the reason they lost percussion...so sad

  • 1:20 second tenor from right....FOLD lol ....hes crazy good though. so i cant say much lol

  • i love the blue devils but i dont think they will ever have a tenor line as badass as when the "Tim Jackson ERA" was around, that was unbelievable shit they played, now its just typical of what every tenor line in DCI plays.......still awesome though.

  • @FalamsProductions Yumm...Tim Jackson! :D

  • 3rd Tenor screws up at 1:22

  • 3rd Tenor screws up at 1:22

  • I know people rag on the Blue Devils a lot but look around. You can't a tenor line with this level of badassery anywhere.

  • @quadmaster89 Uhhm...have you seen phantom regiment's quad line this year? Obviously not
