  • Truly wonderful. Gorgeous song.

There should be a girl in an open-topped sports car drivin round a mountain road, with her chiffon scarf flowing behind her. Lol.

SO evocative of those 60's film themes. Beautifully sung. Still love it.

  • nice violine melody in the background, so missing to day.

  • I like the song here but the version with the Latin Jazz Upright Bass is awesome!

And the way it starts mixing piano keys with trompets at the same time.......

    Best song of 1962!

  • C'est super!

  • much prefer the string heavy studio version without that annoying latin arrangement

  • the best song that year deserved to win

  • She looks like Vivian leigh

  • conny froboess devio ganar!

  • The best song in ESC

  • @ayer20 I am sorry to dissapoint you........ But 1963 song, Dansevise by Grethe & Jorgen Ingmann....

Still gives me goose bunks when I hear it......

Please listen to it very carefully and you'll hear what I am talking about!

That song is one of a kind!

  • This is good, but her song from 1968 is way better.

  • i heard it today live for the first time - the song and SHE is better than in studio! Love this song from now on.

  • i think she sang "Que tous ces baisers "

0.0 i guess "baiser" still hasnt taken on its modern meaning then

  • derithyll, the word "baiser" has two meanings depending on what category of the word you used.

If you use it as a verb, then it means "to fuck".

If you use it as a noun, then it means "a kiss" (baisers = kisses).

And Isabelle sang "..tous ces baisers..", meaning "all thoses kisses"

Anyway, this is really a very beautiful song

  • ah i see ;D. Thanks!

  • Lol.. Je suis Francais.

Baiser ce n' est pas donner un baiser..

ce n est pas du tout pareil, bien que l on dise aussi en Francais " te baiser "

the baiser la main = kiss the hand

    apres il y a baiser = faire l amour

on ne dis pas a une fille, je vais te baiser, non, ce n est pas trés joli, on lui dis, je vais te faire l amour....c est pareil mais c est plus beau a entendre !!!

    hahahahahaha

  • song is beautiful

  • une artiste charmante et délicate.

  • Merci France for a beuty ful song!

  • Merci Isabelle ...la petite soeur à Jean Ferrat

    Fanchette

  • yes, Tass: how can you get such gooooood quality? Thank you, it lights the dark Scandinavian winter to be able to see this!

  • What a magical ballad

  • How sweet.

  • the melody of the arrangement was like some songs in Paul Mauriat 's The Russian Album . (In my opinion)

  • i love the france songs from eurovision

  • I initially found the repetitious refrain to be annoying (still do a bit), but this song comes into its own in the bridge, especially Isabelle's inspiring performance! A slow fuse, but worth the wait. And for sure, head and shoulders above the mediocrity that made up most of the rest of 1962's lineup. I still say "La source" is better, though.

  • Um primeiro amor nunca se esquece (Un premier amour ne s'oublie jamais)Lindo.

  • Bonita voz, bela elodia, uma canção romântica na sua perfeição. Ainda hoje faria furor.

  • This song was never going to be one of my favourites from 62 or amongst the winners. And I like La Source much more. But Tasos, I think this live performance exceeds tremendously the studio version.

  • Well, it's all a matter of opinion, isn't it? Maybe it's the fact that the studio version was the first one I heard that makes me prefer its more subtle touch - not, of course, that there's anything wrong with Francj Purcel's live arrangement or, even more so, with Isabelle's performance! And, btw, based on what I perceive your taste to be, I'd have thought you'd like this much more than you do.

  • Of course it's a matter of opinion (which makes these chats all the more interesting). And may I say how very perceptive of you about a core of my ESC tastes - French type ballads. I first heard this song on a LP of ESC winners back in the early 80s and thought it, Nous Les Amoureaux & Dansevise to be uninteresting compare to many other years

  • I still think Nous Les Amoureaux to be the least inspiring winner from all the early years (&longer, but I have learnt more of the subtlety of the other 2. Yes Un Premier Amour should be in the class of songs I like, but have always thought the melody a bit monotonous, but has grown on me with time.

  • The song is so suited to Isabelle's voice and when it becomes familiar gains a sort of sultry sexiness. IMO that's why it's perfect for live performance with an orchestra and she so looks the part when performing it. She gives it an edge and an atmosphere which is absent in the studio version. IMO!

  • Finally, thank you so much for uploading! As you probably already knew I was waiting so long for this one! An amazing mystical ballad that really deserved to win. One of my favourites of the '60's - and IMO she also should have win in 1968.

  • Thank you for this, my friend. A very professional, mystical ballad. Isabelle really had this song in the palm of her hand from the first note. "La source" is still my favourites but I nonetheless like this song a lot, and say it was an easy and deserving winner.
