  • Until recently I only listened to Christoph Poppen's version and decided to explore more players. I am surprised how many have mistakes in them. In this case, it's only 5 mins in, why not start over?

Otherwise it's a fantastic interpretation, lovely sound and nice acoustics.

  • Beautiful rendition but what happens at 5:05 - 5:06?

  • @sbranson23 I always wondered what was that. I never heard something like that, so I think she madea small mistake. But this is still my favorite recording of this piece.

  • @nelsonmfilho It's a shame because I would always hear it. It is such a nice recording otherwise.

  • @sbranson23 Yeah, but i still think she is the best playing Bach's Partitas, although Heifetz plays it in a perfect way. I like this kind of interpretation.

  • voir janine jansen qui l'interprete merveilleusement

  • So good to hear this at a steady pace allowing all the natural harmonics to resonate. I love it. Just wish I could get the fingers working through this Chaconne. Brilliant and thanks

  • I havent listened to alot of Bach's work but this is by far the greatest peice he has made!

  • I'm usually a logical, calculating sort of person, but my emotions follow the tonality, timbre and volume of this piece exactly. This is the best piece of music that was ever written.

  • A real master piece of fine art. i love it :D

  • ES UNA INTERPRETACION FUERTE Y EMOTIVA, LIMPIA Y DULCE. LA ADMIRO A RAQUEL PODGER

  • perfect! :D

  • best interpretation i've heard thus far, better than itzhak perlman imo, no offense to the god/master that he is

  • It's very amazing Rachel !!! it's very rare to hear the bach sonatas and partitas played with the baroque violin. I would say that in this recording, they appear more "baroque" and it's very wonderful

  • it is haunting...

  • I love listening to this. Can anyone tell me where I can download this?

  • a beautiful and articulate reading-the tone of this instrument is particularly suited for this piece I would say-Podger is an exceptional Bach interpreter-thank you!

  • that violin is beautiful. almost as beautiful as the sound it makes

  • The violin is a rare one right? Very satisfying tone.

  • So amzing... she understands Bach like nobody else... THANKS RACHEL!!!!!

  • wow love that sound so much.

  • The most beautiful recording. Thank you Rachel Podger! And for you Bach too, this ciaconna is like the God is coming to earth, and showing us the perfection of heaven.

  • an excellent recording – a lot of violinists play this piece today but this is such a brilliant performance! :) thank you!

  • Thanks for posting this! It's so much different than the recordings I've been listening to.
