did you really need 5 plus minutes to explain that? it is very simple to get through handcuffs. all you need is something skinny and hard. Force it through the side of the cuffs and pull out. Problem solved.
@TrueGreatness73 Not really, but at the time this was posted there wasn't really in depth tutorials on how to specifically do this or the various picks that could be used
@tim6575 You could indeed escape these double locked, you have to twist the bobby pin around the circular part of the key hole where the pin is, to disengage the double lock, as the small notch on the key would, than proceed to disengage the lock as shown above.
@grnblink416 Although this is difficult to do it is possible. In another video I have my hands restrained behind my back while using the bobby pin technique. The proper police style where the back of your hands are touching is more difficult and painful, you have to twist your wrist around in the cuff.
hot with hinged cuffs it is impossible, especially during a panic attack. when the key holes are up , your palms are outward and they are tight enough that you cannot even rotate your wrists, good luck that happened to me.
Thank you soooo much!!! Believe it or not, but I was stuck with shackles with a broken lock mechanism on my foot... I googled "how to get out of handcuffs" and your video came up!!! My husband did what you gid with the bobbypin and now I'm FREE!!! Thank you!!!
Hi dude, tahnks for cool video, I am doing an underwater escape on TV soon here in UK. Are these s and w 100's double lock as I am about to buy a 2 sets, also any tips for under water? my e mail merlincadogan@hotmail.con
@pirateboard Sorry for all the late replies.. If you haven't already done your escape, I would suggest starting in a pool. Also bring a couple trusted friends with you and have one in the water with you so they can pull you up and out of the water in case you can't manage the escape. After you can escape comfortably, blind fold yourself and and jump in the water, that would make the escape more true to life. Make sure you practice all safety measures and have a back up plan!
@jesuswuzahippy The rigid cuffs are the same, although i would recommend just bending the bobby pin in half, for the needed extra length to reach the lock.
This is a joke. You use a shim to pick cuffs. Double locked or not. Nothing enters the keyhole. Or even better, go to army surplus and buy a set for $30 and keep a key on you. They are all the same.
@brianbuilder30 Well, it's not a joke, the key hole is large enough to fit certain picks, like the ones i've described. Shims can and very well do work, the only issue is they require greater force to use. This was more over to show you could use many household or easy to find items to escape.
hello sir, i just want to ask, is it only the policeofficers that can have handcuffs with the serialnr, becaus i am a handcuffs collector and i just wonder if you can buy real police handcuffs any where, that i all wanted to ask you, and one more thing, your videos are great keep'em coming great job.
I am in an Explorers post, meaning I am in training for police duties but I am only 15. I am allowed to carry hadcuffs for my trainig purposes. So yes, you can buy them anywhere, preferably an Army Surplus store.
so how does this work? your suposed to hide these tools up your you know what untill time of need>? seems like a dental pick would pose some risk if caried internally haha..
So, I'm not trying to insult your intelligence but you do realize that this is an instructional video about how to pick standard handcuffs using an assortment of items, right?
And please don't call me a retard, asshole. Just kidding with you.
Umm, guys, I doubt this is for escaping from the cops, seeing as how ur usually in a car, escorted by a cop....this is for escapology, Magic Tricks, yknow, houdini type shit, where you are almost always cuffed in the front
ya but it'd be somewhat harder if ur hands were cuffed behind ur bak, which is how any smart person would put them on u. but wow im surprised that theyre that easy to pick.
Nice work. I've never conqueored the double lock on SW100's; the key holes are too snug and the springs too stiff for most improvised picks. If you can do the double lock please post it! I've conqueored the double lock on common Chinese hinged cuffs, and the vid is on my channel, but not SW100's. As always, thanks for being a contributor.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
i respect handcuffs and police oficers enough not to do that...mainly because i want to be a police officer when i get older and secondly because they are expensive handcuffs so if that breaks in the key hole one day dont come crying to me.oh and try doing that behind your back without looking.ive tried and with my key not a lock picking device it took me a while to find the key hole nevertheless try to fit the key in the right way.
well, I'm not trying to be rude, but obviously you have little experience with picking or shimming a set of handcuffs. In my many years of performing escapology i have not once ever broken a pick inside the key hole, or jammed the locking mechanism. The amount of force needed to make that happen is far greater then that needed to disengage the lock.
As far as picking cuffs behind your back, it is as easy as doing that while they are in the front. if you watch my other video you can see me picking a set of cuffs from the back. To be honest it is more difficult to use a key than a pick. For one, the key is about half the length of the pick , which makes putting it in the lock more difficult, and secondly, the key is meant to fit in the key hole a specific way , as a pick is not.
My friend had a cuff and wanted to try it with bobby pin. Thanks to you I was able to unlock it. I tried handcuffing myself front and back. The back took me more time and I was freaking out! ha ha ha Thanks
cool but this goes out for all of you if you are in jail you dont have any of this stuff cause they check your pockets so if i were you i rather wouldnt go and do something that risky to end up doing this stuff
listen... I know there are some cops out there that need ego checks.. i'll go as far as saying some of them need an ass kicking... we're together on that one... I was just bothered by the first fact... people getting away with horrible crimes is NO WAY to get that ego check...
sometimes i think the best way is for fellow cops to give them the ego check... tell them how it is... i completely agree with you on the "1984 society" issue... There are just better ways to make sure that doesn't happen than having criminals get away...Like i.e. punishing cops that abuse their power?... Allowing cops to do their job the way it needs to be done, while keeping each other in check.
And again there is another point you missed.... It came up that a lot of murders go unsolved And you said that Cops' egos had to stay in check... I mentioned that this meant the families of murder victims are going through their lives not knowing who killed their loved one and KNOWING that whoever it was is going unpunished... and you say " GOOD... at least the cops don't get big headed." And that right there is fucked up...
way to avoid the question... that has nothing to do with what i said. I don't take it personally when people run from me... I have nothing against Defense Lawyers... That's not my point... my point is you're saying murderers of innocent people and child molesters should be free to keep some cops' egos in check.
I'm glad you think the familes of people who are murdered should go through their lives knowing that the person that killed their family member and took them away forever is free simply to keep some peoples' egos in check...
Peerless might be a little harder? with hands in the back. S&W hinges handcuffed. If key hole is facing upwards...your going no where. No movement. Peerless hinged a little you can but still hard. Has better bigger fit to anyone with big risk though.
Would have been a neat thing to know when I couldn't find the Key to the Cuffs my girlfriend was fastened to the Brass Headboard with. luckily I had a spare key back at my place, and after a round trip time of 75 minutes she was released, and madder than a Hellcat. A Hair clip would have done the trick, and kept me out of the doghouse!
it is a good show but in the real world that is not more than show off. because when a cop use a handcuff the key hole looks the opposite way so the criminals can not reach the hole and open it.
Well equipped Criminals are prepared for Reverse locking, by always having a battery powered Dremmel tool stuffed up inside their Wazoo. I hear that some of those Hoodies also stuff hacksaws, and 3ft bolt Cutters up there as well, just in case.
Perhaps, but theoretically I would have the element of surprise. A handcuff arm into the throat wouldn't be pleasant. I suppose it boils down to how observant the handcuffer is.
I was a Marine in the infantry, 1/8 2MarDiv. While not police training per se, I have MP training. While nothing is guaranteed, my chances of escape are better than the average man's.

Now, how long I would last afterwards is another story altogether. But this video isn't about how to escape cops, just picking handcuffs.
2 things, what happens if that little thing broke inside? second try hinged handcuffs. i give my friends the keys to it and they still cant get them off. to the guy below those are S&W 100's. trying picking the peerless the key hole has less space around the center key pin thing. have fun. By the way handcuff keys are 1 dollar, if you really need them due to frequent arrests you might want to hide one behind your belt. lol
Sorry for the poor structure of the tutorial, I filmed it at like 2:30 in the morning and was a bit tired. Also, the pressure needed to release the cuff would never be sufficient enough to break it. It may bend, but generally never break. I will give it to you, hinged cuffs are a bit more difficult to get out of due to the restriction of the wrists, but they too can be easily manipulated with a little practice.
ive got a pair i SW 100's...and it works for the single lock only...i cant do it from behind though...and the double lock seems impossible either way...thanks
It does, but im an escapologist, generally we have our crew do it and they are generally never double locked. Also, i can get get out of cuffs no matter how they are put on, keys facing palms, or vise versa and palms facing together or vise versa.
There are only two methods for releasing a pair of handcuffs.. Picking and shimming. Neither of which can defeat a pair of cuffs if they are double locked.
You can actually open a pair of double locked handcuffs but it is not easy. Check out Lucky1406 video on picking handcuffs and he has a video on how to do it.
Yes, it does not work on the smith and wesson since the double lock feature is different then that of other cuffs. The picking works on peerless, valor and hiatt. Other cuffs that have the push in butto on the double locking system. Unlike the smith and wesson system.

Cuffing properly negates the chance of picking to near 0. Palms facing out key side facing up. I suspect hinged cuffs make it even more difficult.

It does, but im an escapologist, generally we have our crew do it and they are generally never double locked. Also, i can get get out of cuffs no matter how they are put on, keys facing palms, or vise versa and palms facing together or vise versa.

Love to see how? Not questioning you just curious.

Have you ever tried the method he describes with a pair of S&W 100's .. I have and it doesnt work.
ryancarder21 5 years ago
Yes, it does not work on the smith and wesson since the double lock feature is different then that of other cuffs. The picking works on peerless, valor and hiatt. Other cuffs that have the push in butto on the double locking system. Unlike the smith and wesson system.

This method is not that simple if the handcuff is double locked.
