Started playing right after WotLK release, and took me forever to get to 80, so havn't actually seen too much content. Although, my favourite raid was and still is Ulduar;)
in early 2007, my favorite raid was sunwell plateau even tho i didnt really raid it, but my favorite raid that I played during progressions was ulduar. Btw lol on the athene music in the background.
OKay timboyjorge, your acting as if PTR's make the game bug less, theres still endless amount of bugs in the game and he has a huge point. PTR basically gives other people a higher advantage to the raid before it comes out and imo that's not fair really. Could my guild go to a PTR to even the terms? Yes..would they want to? No. So it's not fair really and I also agree with Epics being hard to get..when something is hard to get and you get it..you feel like it's a bigger accomplishment.
Started playing in 2k5 and think they have made getting gear WAY too easy but they did also put in the heroic status gear that is very hard to get... I think all they did so far coming from Vanilla was added a more casual game play to the game while keeping it hard for hardcore raiders with HM content. Im personaly working on 11/12 HM ICC atm and find that content way more fun than the normal mode content and cant wait till Cata when u can go straight to HM xD
Naxx 40 man was on the PTR's (not the whole thing obviously). Vanilla was fun, but it wasn't perfect at all. I was lucky enough to raid with a guild all the way up to 11/15 Naxx40, but not everyone was able to experience that. Blizzard made it so more people could experience the content, which means more happy players, which means more money. Also THE HARDEST (Heroic LK) encounter in the game was during this expansion so you can't say it's easier either. You have fallen victim to nostalgia.
There also were videos for Boss Strats during Vanilla.
Stop being a pansy about it.
PTR has a good use. Gives other guilds practice of what the fight and its mechanics 'will' be like. PTR Bosses always aren't exactly like Retail Bosses. Changes are made and thats a significant purpose the PTR has.
The reason they don't do 'No PTR(S)' anymore because when guilds ran it they would get so many bugs for any boss.
I remember for KT(Naxx40) when you would get MCed if you tried using your mouse to move or just trying to move or trying anything to get out of it you would automatically D/C.
ive had my account since 2004 and to this day I still havnt done raid instances, im strictly a pvp player. I miss the old astranaar/tarren mill raiding when world PvP used to go down
i played wow febuary 7th, 2009. it was amazingly fun untill i hit 80 and noticed how much BC and Vannila were good ... i had a chance to start wow in the begging of BC :( idk why i didnt. and my favorite raid is sunwell or blackwing lair
Yes. Loot was harder to get in vanilla. For starters, the raids were, as you know, 40-man. The bosses dropped 2-4 items each. Obviously it takes longer to gear up 40 people than 25. If you wanted to gear up in vanilla you had 2 options. 40-man raiding or get high warlord/grand marshal. In WotlK you have 25m+10m dungeons, normal+hardmode, a very casual/alt/reroller friendly badge system from heroics plus arenas and battlegrounds. Chose the level of dedication that fits you the best.
You obviously don't understand anything about this raid or the PTR. Firstly, the PTR is for testing the content for bugs, would you want to have a buggy raid at release? Secondly, Ruby Sanctum is basically a filler raid like Ony, it isn't meant to be like 25 LK Hardmode. And also, there is a heroic mode for Ruby Sanctum which I believe has not been released yet, so those kills were done on normal. Please get your facts straight before ranting.
@TimBoyjorge Still gives guilds who have seen it on the PTR an advantage. You obviously never played WoW before PTRs. When new content was actually NEW. And you had to figure out the encounters with your guild. Instead of knowing everything ahead of time.
@Fa1thWoWChat You're obviously lying, or you were with a shit guild that cleared it weeks too late. The content was buggy as shit, fights were awful, and half the time the content was hotfixed immediately...
The games changed with the player base, on some level i agree, the epics mean less than they used to, but on the other hand now the fact that there epics doesnt mean much anymore, because the item level of gear ranges a rediculous amount from heroic to end content, especialy towards the end of an expantion.
I agree with you. I started playing WoW shortly after the release. I've never been in a raiding guild, and therefore never expected to have the epic gear I often saw raiders in. Now, I have three level 80ies all kitted in purple. And now a purple is no longer a purple. It's all about the "item level". I say downgrade the blues to greens, a lot of the low end purples to blues. Yes, one of my characters will end up in mostly blues, but it is a more accurate picture than the purple-fest we have now
Also i remember MC... It was hardcore... now 25 man raids? fuck!. My favorite raid was onyxia... cant do it now... or atleast the classic version.... sorry for my comments i comment as the video goes along
@Rubytap Right on, dude. Haha I got wow for my 13th birthday too. my friend brought it over one day before my birthday and I instantly fell in love with the game. So i asked for it for my birthday ^_^
@Bowcaster123 When I'm levelling if i need to make gold I always go mining/herb and skinning. Pick between mining and herbalism depending on the price levels on your server. Lifeblood is also nice. Race doesn't impact gold making.
