  • this guy is an idiot haha

  • how is the gas milage?

  • My diesel would kill it

  • How expensive are they n it sounds great!

  • Why didnt you get the GEN2 with the intercooler?

  • @Syrius187 money was the issue at the time. I ended up getting the intercooler after this video was made. I would recommend an intercooler to others considering a supercharger. Intake temps are high without it.

  • I would do some gears next

  • @jaimeson5 I did gears first. I have 5:13's.

  • @jamesnkerr I guess It's because I have the 6 speed the gears go so fast with 4.88s and 35s. I do regret the 6 speed now. I am going to do the hemi conversion just to get rid of the standard. The standard has caused some off roading restriction.

  • @jaimeson5 The 6 speed has caused you offroad restriction?? I have been to Moab twice with my 6 speed and I love it.... And I have stock gears on a rubicon with 35's...

  • Hey James thanks for the vid bro, I have a 2007jk and wanted to know what was up with the RIPP and daily driving. Looks and sounds like a great add on.

  • @jpfrc1 Daily driving is excellent. I have had zero issues with the RIPP Gen2 system. I highly recommend it.

  • hows it do off road in 4l and 4h?

  • @ddmsk8ter37 RIPP works great off road. No issues whatsoever.

  • auto's suck. i think they take the joy out of driving. i don't like the whole"stop go" feel about them. way more fun to have control over the engine

  • @surfskiskate Fastest cars made are auto's......control is the skinny pedal.

  • @surfskiskate I like manuals also, but I live in Chicago. Much of my drive time is in stop and go traffic. Automatics make life much easier when driving in town.

  • @jamesnkerr Woo chicago! having a supercharger in this town would drive me insane. so much power. no many places to use it.

  • whats the gas milage like?

  • If you have stock wheels on that jeep, then i would say that the difference isnt so impressive !! btw are you working for RIPP coz it sounds like that : ) from the way you complain about the jeep used to be and how it changed now after the SC ^_^ no offence man : )

  • @Dubai892JK I don't work for RIPP, but I am glad I found the guys. I probably do sound like a commercial for them. I love the system. In this video I had 35's. I'm now running 37's and an added an intercooler.

  • Hey, im in chicago, nd was wondering if we could meet up cause i was looking at gettin me one of these

  • what kinda gas mileage does she get now?

  • @kauaiboy89 I'm getting about 2-3 MPG more than I did without it on the highway. It is about the same in stop and go city traffic.

  • @jamesnkerr that so sweet, i would no thave thought it would improve mpgs. i used to have a f-150 with a kenne bell sc and the mileage sucked big time. i guess it just varies from vehicle to vehicle. i wonder how much better mileage would be with a turbo?

  • @kauaiboy89 I think the reason the MPG goes up is because the efficiency of the engine improves. The 3.8 is way under powered without it. I had to stay a 3/4 to almost full throttle to hold highway speeds pre-RIPP. Now my engine doesn't have to work as hard to hold highway speeds and I don't have to shift out of over drive as often.

  • @jamesnkerr true. is the 3.8 really that bad? or is it because u have a lift/rims/tires?

  • @kauaiboy89 the 3.8 is under-powered -- especially the heavy 4-door unlimited. Chrysler has recognized this issue and is changing to a new engine with a bit more power on the 2012's. The RIPP brings the 3.8 power to a respectable level. It doesn't make it a V8, but it is as close as you can get without swapping an engine.

  • Comment removed

  • @jamesnkerr good thing i like the 2 door. the over 1000lb difference should definately make for some power differences. damn jeeps are expensive though, cant afford one right now.

  • This is a great DEMO love the lay out -

  • Did you have to do anything to the transmission or any other driveline parts because of the added supercharger? Seems like the added power might be cause for a transmission replacement?

  • @bnowling5 I haven't made any upgrades to the engine or trans. RIPP has had superchargers in the market for quite some time with minimal issues. Time will tell, but so far I haven't had any issues.

  • @bnowling5 I didn't have to change anything with the driveline parts. The RIPP system is designed to work with a stock Jeep. Of course, anything can be broken. Got to watch the throttle now. It has a lot more toque and power than it use to.

  • Hey just wanted to say thanks for having a nice vehicle AND a nice camera! haha Great video and great truck. Very jelous!

  • James, thank you for your reply, it's very tempting as the stock JK is very much underpowered. I have a tone of other upgrades (cosmetic) coming and seriously thinking about this RIPP upgrade. I watched several vidoes about installing the RIPP, I am an engineer, pretty sure I can do it myself (like you did) thanks anyway and happy new year!

  • James, excellent video, just what I needed to encourage me to buy one. Any issues with the iddle? just as normal? cheers Mark

  • @Markdsv Mark, I was out driving the Jeep today and thinking, darn, this thing idles great. It runs so perfect I can't believe it. I look hard to find something wrong with the system and cannot find anything. It is quite literally perfect. It runs like a stock vehicle in every way (idle, city driving, highway, full-throttle, remote-start, etc). Outside of having a tons more power, when you drive it you would never know it didn't come like this from the factory.

  • ok thanks didn't know how much was involved I have limited resources as far as tools and time goes

  • @MrUndertaker94 I installed it by myself in a small garage. Basic metric hand tools is all you need (spark plug wrench, sockets, screw driver, etc). I'm not a mechanic by trade and had no issues. RIPP also provides excellent customer service. Give them a call if you are interested. They will answer any question you have.

  • how hard was it to put on?

  • @MrUndertaker94 It was easier than installing gears and suspension. Not exactly easy, but something one person can do if they are comfortable turning a wrench. I installed it in my small garage with basic hand tools.

  • wow an automatic shifting @ 5200rpm.

i never goes up to 4500 with my 6speed!

    btw nice supercharger!
